  1. You're fine, scabs come off within 4-9 days post-op. Expect to see hairs coming out with them. After 4 days your grafts are pretty well set. Don't pick at your scabs, BAD IDEA! But let them fall off naturally. You will know if you lost a graft by a strem of blood from the spot. If left alone, this won't happen. As for shockloss, it happens. And it sucks! But it will grow back with your grafts. Remember, everything takes time.
  2. No worry's man... It takes some time for the growth period to start. 4 months is not enough to judge anything. As for the mid scalpe lose, sounds like the same thing I went through on my first procedure at 26. Mine were the hairs that were destined to fall out, just was excellerated by the procedure. You are right in planning ahead. I think it is a good idea for that. I'm 29 now, and have had 2 HT's. Am waiting on the results from the 2nd, since it was done at the end of November. Read around the board, you should be able to get the info. you need. Also, where did you get your HT, and how many grafts did you get?
  3. Absolutely amazing!! You must be walking on cloud nine. Congrats man. Looks outstanding.
  4. I would imagine it could be done. Electrol. removes hairs and kills the roots of hairs, and what a graft is, is exactly that.
  5. Looks good man, good luck, and thanks for the pic. A before would have been great though, so atleast we can see the differance. Good luck and keep us updated!
  6. Is there a website you can provide us, on this issue... Wouls like to look into it. THanks
  7. Noone has asked this question to you yet, atleast that I have read.... Why won't you post some photo's? You are more than willing to rant and rave about a poor "butchered" job that was done, and the community has asked to see, TO HELP YOU, and you won't post 1 photo. If you are embarrased by your look, then you can use a program called "PhotoShop" to edit your face out. If you do not know how to use it, I would personally be glad to help you. Heck I would do it for you. Waiting on your response please....
  8. Do not do it! I started my major hairloss when I was 24. I did a HT when I was 26. All was well for about 2 months and my hairloss excellerated! Though the Doc. did a great job in blending, you could not tell I had one done. WAIT IT OUT!!
  9. Nut, what alment do you have to declare? Are you able to walk into the Doc. and request it? I'm just ceriuos as to how it works. I will do the same, but would like to know what exacly I need to do.
  10. How were you able to get it prescribed for your medical insurance to cover it? If you don't mind me asking... THANKS
  11. I hope you got laid for that torture your wife put you threw!
  12. Thanks for the advice. I will have to order Toppik, ASAP. I have the meeting Next week Thursday. Though, I am praying for snow to get me out!! Heck, I'd even take the flu!
  13. Is there any good concealers that are sold at any pharmacy's or store's? I just got notice of a meeting I have to attend next week, and would really like to cover my recent HT. It's not terribly noticable but it will be 7 weeks out, and the crown is noticable. Atleast to me. There isn't much hair back there, but I think an ol' combover could do the trick. Thanks

  15. $6,000 for 1000 grafts is across the board, or an average. From my experiance aleast. You are forgetting that a graft can be from 1 to 4 hairs. and if you split 4 hairs, then you could be getting 4 grafts instead of 1. I say this on a fixed dollar procedure and not a per graft $$ procedure. I personally paid $5,000 for 800 grafts, which was actually around 1200 grafts if it was split evenly at 2 hairs per graft. It really is hard to define what the best price is, but when it starts going across the board, the question shouldn't be did I save a couple hundred, but rather did I get the best Doctor for my outcome...
  16. damn great man... Happy 2.0.. I like that
  17. I shaved it about a month after my procedure....
  18. it is very possible that the hairs you feel are the grafts growing. Most hairs fall out initially from the graft, but some do stay and start growing. But don't be surprised if the hairs fall out from shock loss. This still can happen for a few more weeks. My first procedure I had very little shock loss, maybe 10%. I was able to shave my head with a #3, to even things out. And had a perfect look. Other than my cone head.
  19. When did you have your procedure at MHR? I read your previous post about the botch/ crap job MHR did. Was just curious of how long it's been. Thnaks
  20. Mahair, I'm sorry to hear that. That's definitley a good example of doing a lot of research. And why people need to extensively read before persuing. I'm just glad I was fortunate enough that I had good doctor with MHR. Joy/active34, You are doing right in your research. Keep asking questions. I do agree MHR is not one of the best oportunities out there. I personally recommend going with an accredited private practice.
  21. Well, I must have thought wrong. I thought this was an informative site. I apoligize that my experiance with MHR was good, other than the rough scar I had. Also, When I had this procedure done at MHR this site was not available for research, nor was many other opportunity's available. So, I apoligize for that also. I also apoligize that I didn't have a horrible experiance to share about MHR. I really wish I did, so I could validate your opinion further. My suggestions to all, read, read, read!! I am not by no means promoting MHR! Personally, I chose not to goto them for my second procedure. Not bexause of poor results, but because of poor practice. It requires a lot of research to find who is right for you. Whether it be in your price range, or in your geographical area. My suggestion to all is try and get the best you can.. At all affordable costs. This is a permenant decision, that you must have thought long and hard about. GOOD LUCK
  22. Yes, go somewhere that you know of that has good recommendations. It is with you forever. My bad strip scar was not as bad as you are thinking. I just ment it was rough to the touch. Which you are correct, it should not have been. Yes, people have had bad experiances with MHR,... But what it really comes down to is the Doctor! After all, MHR can't screw it up, only the Doc. can. I do recommend going to a non-comercial practice. But there is alot of DD involved before making the correct decision. Consultations I believe are the key, and not just having two to compare.
  23. Dr. Tessler was on my list with for my second HT, along with Dr. Ringler. I decided with Dr. Ringler because he was local. If a third need be done I will research again, and quit possibly go with Dr. Tessler. But that will depend on the resuls I have now, which are to early to judge. No, Dr. Holt did not, because he wasn't practicing, yet. He was still in training.
  24. Well, here's prolly the best answer you're going to get. I had HT at MHR, by Dr. Reese. Dr. Holt was in training at the time. And was there for the procedure. Yes Dr. Holt seemed to be a good guy. I had excellent results from the HT itself. The only complaints I have are, My donor scar was tied to tight, causing bad scaring. Not overly bad, but was rough to the touch. And, they are an assembly line operation. I personally like the one on one. If Dr. Reese taught him well with the actual HT, then you should have excellent results. FYI, I just had a second HT done with Dr. Ringler, here in Grand Rapids. The Jury is still out on this one. I've got coblestoning on the crown area, because of the packing done back there. But excellent one on one with the Dr. though the entire surgery. Hope this helps answer some questions.
