  1. Kaz, did you have your HT done here in Michigan? If so, whom did you have it done by?
  2. These guys know what they are talking about. I've had 2 HT's done now. The first HT (complete frontal), I hardly lost any hair. I was completely dumbfounded by this. I had growth in a matter of a month. Pretty much all grafts. Though I made the mistake of picking a scab, and had bleeding. Kind of like when you cut yourself shaving. That graft never grew back. The second, however I had lost a lot of hairs from when the scabs fell off. Not from picking either. I paniced!! But was restasured from reading and the great advise from others that this was normal. I am now 5 weeks post, and all grafts seem to be in place. If there is no bleeding from the scab, then you are fine.
  3. I'm going to asume that, when you say pealing, you are saying flaking. Like dandruf. I had the same thing. I was told to use conditoner by the nurse. So I did and it helped emensily.<sp>
  4. Thanks for the input... This is was my secong procedure. The first time I didn't have the problem of losing hairs with the scabs. I think it may of had something to do with the frontal area. The first procedure was done there. Now I had it in front and crown. The crown is were I'm noticing it the most. But, not worried about it... NOW. Thanks for the tips and advise. I was fortune it enough not to have had this the first time, but raised questions on #2. Most all implants never shed and that's what caused the concern. Thanks again.
  5. I did more reading around the forum, and must have over looked a posting about someone else with the same concern. I realize, that I don't have anything to worry about. Thanks anyway. If you have anything to add, please do. I could use the knowledge.
  6. I am 12 days post op. My scabbing is starting to fall off. My question is this. Some hairs are coming out with the scabs. I noticed this 3 days agoand recent. It only happens with a few of them, but obviously, a few is too many. Are these the grafts coming out, or is it just the shock loss? No bleeding is following, and upon examining the hairs that came out, they seem fine, and sometimes they are grouped in multilpes(2-4). Also, wanted to state I helped the scabs off because they were stuck the the hairs. I did not pick them, they were already lose. Thanks for your response. Just was wondering if this was normal.

  8. I just had my second HT, on 11/26 for about 800 grafts, or about 1000 hairs. I would like to compare on going results for the beneifit of everyone reading this board. Would like to compare FU vs. strip or strip vs. strip. Let me know if you are willing to put yourself out there. Thanks

  10. Wait guys, you need to define paying for graft. There are 2 different ways to define graft. Individual hair, or the graft itself(1-3or4 hairs). MHR does per graft by "1 hair" many others do it by (1-3) as 1 graft. So if you are getting 500 grafts at $5000, you really could be getting 1000 hairs move @ $5000. So, if you just recently paid $10 per graft, you over paid if it was per hair. On average, most pay about $3-$5 per hair. Hope this helps...
  11. Just wanted to add a little info. about my experiances with Hair Restoation Surgery. It is very, very important to do a lot of research before going forward with sugery. I've had 2 procedures done now. One by a comercial clinic, and one by a private clinic. The first was done by MHR (Medical Hair Restoration). I did a lot of research on the procedure and decided it was the best option for me. But failed the forsight of investigating the clinic and how they practice. I was very happy with what I received from the procedure, and thought they did a fine job. But I wasn't pleased with the mass production line style they used. Most of my procedure was done by a qualified nurse, and rarely did they doctor get involved. The procedure took far longer than I had expected, and there were many clients in other rooms getting the procedure done at the same time. This was the cause of the delay. The doctor would bounce between rooms, and spend about 30min. in each at a time. I have just received my second procedure today. This was done by a private clinic. This was a much better experiance. The doctor was 100% involved and was eager and available to address any questions and concerns I had, prior and during the surgery. I felt more confident in his abilities, and felt my wellbeing and happiness was his number 1 priority. As for the results, I can not say yet, but I will have a good idea when the bandages are removed tomorrow. I will say this, from my prior experiance with this surgery, I am extremely confident I will have better results. I will update this post sometime this weekend, and share my findings. I guess what I am saying is: RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH Is hair restoration for you. Is it financially affordable to get what you can be happy with. Are you getting a good doctor. How do they do their procedure. How much involvement will the doctor have. These are the most important questions to ask. I suggest staying away from the commercial clinics. I'd rather meet with the doctor, than a salesman, about the procedure. I'd rather have a doctor do my procedure rather than a nurse. Good Luck in what ever you decide.
