you can get a good h/t in the uk

Best uk hairtransplant,

I believe there are a few clinics in the UK that are dedicated to performing state of the art hair transplant surgery, top of which, is Drs Bessam and Nilofer Farjo, who are elite members of the Coalition. See our Publisher's (Pat Hennessey) Visit to and live surgery observation of the Farjo Clinic here.

A few of their patients have presented their results online and look quite impressive. Mick McHugh, their patient coordinator also regularly presents examples of their work in pictures and video on our forum.

Regarding the lack of updates generally speaking - I can't speak to that. Frankly, I think all clinics who are performing state of the art techniques should jump on board and show off the quality of their work. Clinics who do state of the art work have nothing to fear and should jump at the chance to show their results. Those who aren't up to par will happily sit in the background and take whatever business is left.

Thankfully, this hair loss community gives patients a voice and a place to do their own research and draw their own conclusions as adults.

Best wishes,

Bill

Best uk hairtransplant,

too be honest, i think people in UK are maybe somewhat reserved but i think the % of people who are having HT's in US is much greater and hence more results that can presented.

i am one UK patient who is extremely happy with my result. i believe both Dr B & N Farjo are amongst some of the top surgeons within this field. i am going from personal experience & my expectations have been greatly exceeded. so much so that i will be going for 2nd HT for the crown. my pics can be viewed & judged by the members but i must say, people i have not seen for a while cannot make out what happened. My results look so natural that no-one has even thought i have had a HT & they know how i used to take the p.ss out people with pluggy HT's...man was i wrong..technology has moved leaps & bounds thankfully..

but as many member have said before, people need to research and go where they are confident.

all the best

best uk hairtransplant

There are both good and poor results being produced in every continent and hopefully your research should serve you well to choose wisely..Though be assured that you can get top notch surgery from people like Dr Devroye or other european clinics recommended on here.it's just a matter of taking your time and digging through the minefield. My top tips would be go to visit several centres no matter the travel involved, do not make any commitment on the day and do not pay any form of deposit,a few days thinking things over is always good .Make sure your consultation is with a doctor and ask to meet past patients. It is also worth doing online consults with those too far to visit, Jotronic put a good post on this point in another section.Just make sure you get good pictures and give as much background information as possible;there are many you could approach with confidence in this method, ie H&W,SMG Feller,Epstein etc etc.

Best of luck.

I Live in London and I never even considered having my HT done in the UK.

I got on a Plane to Canada and went with Dr.Rahal.

Just so you know most really good Doctors like HW, Feller, Rahal and Shapiro spend a lot of time doing "Repair Jobs" and most of these repair jobs originate from the UK.

So take this into account when considering doing an HT in the UK.

With the value of the pound over the USD it will cost way less to have the HT in the US or Canada and we have Zoom Airline flying low cost to New York or Ottawa or Vancouver (Feller or Rahal or H&W).

Cheers

i think that the majority of uk patients are either to busy or just not interested in sharing their experiences to help others once they have had their ht.either that or they dont even know these places exist?

there must be thousands of brits out there happy with their ht,s or else they would be on here looking for repairs instead of the handful we all know.

i think as well a lot of uk based people looking for ht,s stay away from the forums and prefer to contact one to one through the weblogs.today for instance,i have replied to two brits who have both asked the question "can i get a good ht in uk?"to which my answer is always the same "yes if you tread carefully".

spex, you and i know that the majority of uk repair patients that take the time to post off their own back are yours.

im not prepared to get into a tiff over this so as duncun bannatyne(who incidently had a ht in the uk and is willing to endorse it publicly)says..."im out!" icon_razz.gif

A bit of a slugfest going on here with regard to this topic. In other words, nothing new.

For what it's worth I agree that there are poor transplants being performed on EVERY continent. Absolutely NO doubt about that. A clinic's geography is ZERO indication of their skil and experience. No clinic can be praised nor derided based solely on their location.

As for the statistic issue as to the number of UK patients needed repair, I can offer an interesting fact.

When I was in London for 3 days a year and a half ago I met with over 90 patients. More than HALF needed repair work or finishing work. ALL were operated on in the UK.

So in just 3 days I saw 45 UK patients who needed repair work. And that was just from internet readers. We never promoted the meeting in the general media nor anywhere else, just 2 forums.

In fact, yesterday I found this thread on another forum of a UK patient I operated on last year. He was a REPAIR patient. According to him he was told by several UK HT docs and a plastic surgery specialist that he was not a candidate for HT surgery. We succeeded in getting him over 1,200 which made his plugs far less obvious AND we can still get another 1000 grafts out of him in the future:

I happen to agree that there are only a few stand-out clinics in the UK that are doing first-rate work, top of which, in my opinion, is the Farjo clinic.

It's a sad reality that a number of UK patients from some clinics have had to be repaired, even recently. But that is why this community exists - to help those seeking quality surgeons to find them, whether they are in the UK or the Americas.

I hope we can minimize the slugfest, give credit where its due, and work together to help those seeking get the best hair transplant possible.

Best wishes,

Bill

balody,

karamikian's work was not good but it is nowhere near as bad as some of the repair jobs i've seen come out of the uk. also, i would never travel to the uk for an ht when i have surgeons like feller, shapiro, alexander, h&w, rahal so close by, yet i've seen plenty of uk guys travel here for their hts. and yes the two guys i pointed out were not repair cases; they came to the u.s./canada to get it done right the first time.

so what clinic other than farjo is doing quality work? i'm asking that sincerely as i'm sure there are plenty of uk guys that would like more local choices....

Hey girls

In my opinion , based on 2 years of research , I DON'T believe you can get a good HT in the UK , I do believe you can get an average HT at best .

I know some of you , well proberbly just Bill, balody and fallenstar , oh and mayby that best uk transplant guy may disagree with my opinion , and your entitled to do so .

However in my research I believe the farjo clinic has improved recently , however , and I mean this with the upmost respect to anyone with farjo work , the consistancy and sheer volume of top results are just not evident ,and most of the online results have only suceeded in giving a norwood 6 guy some hair back , to which they are evidently happy about and sing there surgeons praises .

The other consideration to be taken into account is , "rip off Britain" , my proceedure with Dr Feller gave me 2100 grafts for ??3750 (approx $7800 US dollars , given the favourable exchange rate in nov 2007 ), the same amount of grafts in the UK would have cost me ??7000 !! ( $14000 US dollars ) !!!!!!!!!!!!!

This fact CANNOT be argued by anyone , Britain is a just rip off for HTs , even with flights and accomedation my proceedure cost LESS THAN HALF !!!!!!!! It is just does not make sence to me to stay and have a proceedure in the UK when you can go the states and have it done at half the price with one of the words best .

Great thread

Made me laugh more than "The life of Brian!!"

Geography doe'snt come into it at all!!

If dr Feller or H&W were based in Blackpool, guess you American guys would all be in B&B's there for the weekend!!

Results count!! not air miles!!

I could not agree more with Clive's final comment - "Results count".

To link to another thread posted recently, I do not see how any clinic can be compared to the top North American clinics without posting a resaonable quantity of results.

In my opinion, anybody researching needs evidence that high quality, consistent results are being produced. The issue of consistency can only be satisfied by seeing many results and patient experiences.

Clinics have to earn their "stripes" on the forums by encouraging clients to post - a quick search on the forums would clearly show that UK guys are far from "shy" and post their results for the benefit of the community.

I believe that I throughly researched the various forums, and based on the evidence of results booked my ticket to North America.

I am flying out in early August, before I go will post my experience to date and start my "blog" with the before photo's.

I was about to start my usual paragraph on UK clinics but thanks to richie48 I won't have to. I fully endorse his last post, and in particular this bit:

I DON'T believe you can get a good HT in the UK , I do believe you can get an average HT at best

Spex, nice list on the previous page but don't forget me next time: a living example of a young guy butchered in the UK, who was later lucky to find this forum and subsequently his salvation with H&W and Epstein.

Have your HT in the UK and live to regret it...
