Valued Contributor Steeeve Posted January 12 Author Valued Contributor Share Posted January 12 Hello everyone. Yesterday, was 10 weeks post-op and I cut my hair. I was trying to hold out and let it grow but my crown just isn’t dense enough yet for the kind of length that I was going for. I’ve got pictures taken just after I cut it and before I showered (so I’m covered in hair) and there’s no concealer in it. I’ve also got pics with a little concealer in my hairline so you can see how I’m going out into the world. I’ve also got some pictures of how my hair covers my scar. So I shaved everything down to an 8 guard, or 1inch all over and then I cut the sides down to a 5 and “faded” that up to the 8 guard. Here is immediately after the cut.Right after the cut I noticed immediately that the scar was invisible and I was very pleased. During the course of the year after my first transplant I had really terrible shock loss up until around 5 months. I feel the state of my hair is extremely healthy looking due to the PRP. After sleeping on it I woke up the next morning and wanted to get some pictures under the ring light. My hair was very oily and I thought that the scar might be more noticeable and once the hair gets oily it tends to clump together. I was right. Those hairs definitely clumped together and exposed my scar. So I washed it and got ready for work. As I said earlier I applied a little concealer which I honestly don’t think I need to do at this point. I think I am fine to go without it but I’m just too mentally attached to it right now. I took these pictures back under the light of my bathroom. These next photos are in direct sunlight just outside my window at work. As you can see the scar is again fully covered after being washed. The wavy texture of my hair really helps it out, as well. I’ll continue to pull my hair back until my crown closes in some more. The body of the entire frontal 3rd really suits the shape of my face and head right now when not pulled back but pulling it back really lends to the illusion that there’s a full head of hair here. I guess that’s all for now. Be good people. ✌🏻
Valued Contributor Steeeve Posted February 2 Author Valued Contributor Share Posted February 2 (edited) Yesterday was 13 weeks post-op. Today is 3 months. Right after I posted my last monthly update I almost immediately started getting acne in my crown. Growth has been slow and steady. I‘m seeing sprouts already popping up in the hairline and in my crown. Of course there is a difference in what the hairline looks like under different lights. It’s thinner looking under harsher lights and stronger looking under softer lights. First and foremost. Here’s what I looked like before any operation. Here I am now 3 months post op my 2nd procedure. Same bathroom and technically the same lighting, however, my camera is different and it takes in light differently. All of the next photos are under harsh light with no product or concealer in my hair. As I said, under a softer light my hair looks stronger. No product is in my hair. here are some close ups, again, with no product. When I go out I typically still put a little dermmatch in my hairline. Here’s the difference that it makes. Without With Without With and with it makes a huge difference. My goal, of course, is to go out with the use of any product in my hair. This is working for me right now Here is the current situation with my crown. Really fuzzy but lacking in bulk which is to be expected around this time. Here is how my hair covers up the scar. The scar looks like a scar but my hair easily covers it up. Here’s the scar. The pictures won’t load correctly but you can see that it’s stretched. I mean, I say it with every update but it doesn’t bother me. I’m going to throw some FUE into it and I’ll probably put some SMP into it, as well. So all in all I’m making progress but my journey is FAR from over. That’s pretty much all for now. If anything happens I’ll hop back on but otherwise I’ll update again at 4 months. ✌🏻 Edited February 2 by Steeeve
Valued Contributor A_4_Archan Posted February 2 Valued Contributor Share Posted February 2 Hello, brother, I'm truly impressed by the thoroughness of your update and the details with which you are presenting your case. Your journey, considering the initial pre-op situation, has been nothing short of amazing. The soft appearance of your current hairline is quite promising, and once the newly implanted hair starts growing, it's expected to enhance the overall density. The observation of the transplanted area darkening, especially under soft light, is a positive indicator of progress. Additionally, your plan to address the stretched scar with a small FUE in the future is a proactive step. As you enter the phase where the real transformation occurs, with hair growth expected in the coming months, it's an exciting time. I eagerly anticipate closely following your journey and witnessing the continued success. Wishing you a fantastic journey ahead with abundant hair growth. Valued Contributor Steeeve Posted March 2 Author Valued Contributor Share Posted March 2 This last Wednesday, February 28th, was 17 weeks and today is 4 months post-op. A lot has happened in the last month. Most of the hairs in my hairline have sprouted. Some never fell off during the ugly duckling phase and just continued to grow. I still feel a lot of stubble in my hairline so that’s pretty cool. It’s all mostly very close to my scalp. More hair to look forward to. My crown has made some good headway this month but there’s still a ton of stubble up there, as well. From where I started my crown is in really good shape! I went on vacation on February 14th. We only recently got back and I went straight back to work. When I left I was putting dermmatch in my hair and when I got back I didn’t have to. While there’s still a lot of stubble in my hairline it is almost exactly where I want it to be. Both sides of my temple corners seem to be really strong and there’s just a little room for improvement right in the center of my hairline. It’s extremely minimal improvement to be made, for sure. My hairline is very very strong now but, again, there’s still lots of stubble so improvement isn’t far behind. I’ve got some photos of my hairline on the plane. They’re a little potato but they’re there to show how I was putting concealer in my hairline vs just two weeks later (now). These were taken on February 14th.There’s no concealer in my corners there. Just in the center. I took these next pictures a couple of days ago. There is nothing in my hairline except for hair! That’s the difference of 14 days. So while there’s still room for improvement…I’m extremely happy about where I am. What I am currently waiting for is some more body in my crown so that I can try cutting my hair shorter on the top. Currently my long hair still continues to cover my crown. This is what my crown looks like exposed. There’s a lot of progress there. I’m very pleased with how things are progressing so soon during this journey. So that’s mostly all for now. If there are any drastic changes I’ll be back otherwise I’ll be back for an update at 5 months. I’ll still be around on the forum, though. ✌🏻

Valued Contributor Steeeve Posted March 16 Author Valued Contributor Share Posted March 16 Just wanted to hop on and post a quick 4 1/2 month update outdoors No product in my hair!here’s my crown indoors. I did lighten these up as the original photo made it look a little too dark and not as easy to see. Maybe it’s just my 44 year old eyes🤷🏼♂️Still, progress. ✌️🏻

Regular Member JoeD Posted March 16 Regular Member Share Posted March 16 Very interesting to see the combined FUT/FUE approach on the same day. I can guess why they did it… But what was the specific rationale for it in your case?

Valued Contributor Steeeve Posted March 17 Author Valued Contributor Share Posted March 17 @Gatsby @Melvin- Admin @Al - Moderatorthank you guys for your comments and feedback. I really appreciate it! @JoeD I had requested FUT for this second procedure, however, the doc didn't think it was going to get me as far as I wanted to go so he asked if I would be okay to move forward with a few hundred FUE in order to provide more coverage. He felt that he could put the grafts everywhere that I wanted but that the density wouldn’t quite be there unless we pulled a few more. I said yes, let's do it! I have no regrets! Thanks for asking. 🙂
Valued Contributor Steeeve Posted April 9 Author Valued Contributor Share Posted April 9 5 months! Last Monday, the 1st of April was 22 weeks and 5 months post-op. A little late but the pics were from the beginning of the month. Everything is still shaping up but, of course, not quite where I want it to be. It's still too early. The pics of my crown show progress but they're very close up and when I see my crown in a mirror my scalp is still very visible. I'm confident all of this will resolve. Just gotta trust the process. One thing that made me extremely happy was that my scar has closed significantly. It makes sense. I hadn't really considered that I was dealing with shockloss around it because last time the right side of my scar remained so wide from the very beginning. I don’t know how well it will be picked up by the camera especially considering everytime I try to post scar pictures the website flips the images. I don't have any pictures of my scar yet but I will get some and post later. Here are some pictures in regular bathroom lighting. I went to another bathroom to get some pics in slightly harsher lighting. The difference is really only in the hairline and if I'm being honest I don't think its the correct representation of how my hairline comes across to others looking at me straight on. Here is my crown. My crown offers enough coverage so that when my hair is back you cannot see through the scalp. I can go without tying my hair back but if the wind blows the jig is up. If it blows one way it looks fine but if it blows in the opposite direction my crown is exposed. Crown is covered👆🏻 Almost totally exposed👆🏻 👆🏻I walked in from doing yard work and wanted to know what I was working with and honestly…it doesn't seem so bad… I’ll do my best to get some pictures of the scar but that’s all for now.
