  1. How do you feel about it? Definitely a major improvement compared to preoperative, but I don’t think these pictures really do it justice from combination of the lighting and product or grease in the hair.
  2. Thanks for the info re continued sensitivity at scar line with more strenuous activity. I guess just looking for some reassurance that it’s still normal. Does not appear to have stretched. re the 10-14 days, sorry I wasn’t clear, I meant some docs (Feller/Bloxham) advise full activity is ok at that point vs some saying 3-6 months to minimize risk of scar stretching
  3. 6-12 months? I’ve never heard more than 6, most say 3, as per prior answers. I do find it interesting that some FUT docs rec 10-14 days- when staples come out (Feller & Bloxham). re my sensitivity Q above re activity at 3 months. A sign to back off or not really of concern? Still gonna hold off deadlifting, squatting etc til 6 months.
  4. About 3 months out now. Scar still pretty good size (1-3mm all around) getting much lighter in color. When I lift things (ie luggage, kid) or squeeze something firmly like a hammer handle, I still get a mild sensitivity in back of head over scar. Lasts few mins to an hour. Normal at this stage?
  5. And there it is….. moderators, don’t posters have to disclose their clinic affiliation from the start?
  6. HT patients bleed, pass out, get intra-vascular lidocaine amongst other things….
  7. I think some better understanding of “levels of evidence” is in order here. Perhaps what you/they say is true…. But anecdotes and case reports prove nothing. When you show me some published randomized controlled (ideally double blinded) studies that stood up to peer review…. Only then can you make such a statement.
  8. I was provided with a total graft amount, not a breakdown, though I never asked for a breakdown.
  9. I don’t know how to tell the difference between which is a natural multi-hair graft in one incision vs >1 single hair grafts combined in one incision
  10. most (not all) has been answered and the OR report has been transcribed in this thread. - Graft count: while he did not give specific breakdown, he does essentially say that excess singles from the strip were combined to make multi-grafts behind the hairline, in single incisions. If the exact graft breakdown wasn’t listed in OP report and/or recently by doctor, then I’ve got to assume it wasn’t documented. -Procedure time: strip needed extending on both sides due to the lower density on the sides, as written on the operative report. That plus repeated popping, vasovagal/syncope (passing out), would account for additional hours. - exact role and identity of other “shadowing” doctor: this has not been answered and should be - seeking outside/2nd professional opinions: at this point, if you don’t believe what he has told you, then I don’t see any other way, but don’t know how helpful that would be. You could take him up on the offer to come in and discuss face to face or call in on phone for your remaining specific questions. He did also offer for you to record that. At this point you’ve got a “decent” (not outstanding) result and don’t look like you’re significantly balding. I think it would be best to just move on and stop torturing yourself over this.
  11. Very impressive transformation in the front half. I would assume the back half and temples turn out similarly given it’s the same patient and same doctor.
  12. Very interesting to see the combined FUT/FUE approach on the same day. I can guess why they did it… But what was the specific rationale for it in your case?
  13. I can’t believe how good the donor looks three days postop.
  14. The doc clearly knows you’re going to publicly post it…. Highly curious, as I’m sure others here are too.
  15. I think that is entirely reasonable to receive a public explanation about the involvement of another doctor. I’d bet it was in the signed written consent, but still, it would bother me too if it wasn’t verbally explained and asked about to patient. Similar concerns were raised on this very forum just under a decade ago, when Dr. Bloxham started with Dr. Feller. Even as a satisfied patient of his… this aspect would bother me. The air conditioner, the storage cups, tech #….. I have had two procedures there, and seen that myself, as well as same in some of their older videos. That amount of techs dissecting and sorting the grafts is also typical in their office and explained on their website. There are at least that many microscopes in the graft prep room. I’m not sure I understand why these aspects would be concerning. The duration of the procedure I think is explained by the operative report. The need to go back to extend the strip on both ends, the repeated popping and vasovagal/ syncope. Those would add some hours. The new assertion of 5000 grafts… Come on man. That’s an extremely high and uncimmon amount. I also couldn’t fathom you’d get any other answer but 2700 from the doctor, given that it was written on the operative report, and his earlier reply. I do not have the knowledge re how to reconcile what you see in a 1 cm segment on your head versus what is obtained from typical strip, but they have to be other factors that play, as most strips I see are 2 to 4000, not 5000+, even when they are ear to ear. The writing on the operative report also says “ extraction density lower than ***” I can’t make out that last three letter word or abbreviation.
  16. Pretty sure it wasn’t 2 more separate strips, just making the initial one longer on the sides, going closer to ears
  17. That is a great improvement, particularly for only seven months. Lots of maturing still to be had. How is the scar doing? What length on the buzzer is it hidden at?
  18. Pharmacist….. who’s handwriting do you think I have to deal with all the time and be extremely accurate?
  19. Would be very interested for Dr. Bloxham to respond. In that note posted I could decipher a few things that would prob account for a much longer case than typical - for the extra 2 strip areas, says poor laxity, extraction density lower than (can’t read last word) - bleeding 4-5/5 - difficulty closing 5/5, thin floppy skin and constant pre-syncope/vaso vagal - medium to high degrees of leaking during site creation, graft placement and popping - grafts: ~2700
  20. I find this very interesting regarding Bloxham. Before the 2 to 3 cases I have seen online between here and Reddit this year, I had never seen anything negative/concerning on him. Thought he was considered top-tier. Certainly plenty of excellent outcomes shown on here and elsewhere, perplexing why there is the occasional miss.
  21. Thanks. This was my 2nd FUT. first scar was mostly about 2mm, a few spots about 4mm. Started lifting 1 month out, cardio at 2 weeks last time. I’m being extra cautious this time. Left staples in a full 3 weeks. I’d be thrilled if scar ended up like my pics above. Shock loss continues to resolve and almost completely hidden with 3 guard.
  22. 4 weeks and 6 weeks. Still some shock loss around it but improving.
