Hi everyone! It’s day 8 after the procedure. The scabs have started coming off and couldn’t help but notice a follicle coming out?  I am worried  out if the grafts are still not secure? Is this a follicle or just scab?

IMG_5740.jpeg

its just a hair shaft not hair follicle

once hair follicle is losing you will have some bleeding and pain..

no blood = no follicle lost

anyway why do you clean up scab on 8th day ?

we should clean the scab on 10th day, aren't we ?

DAY 10 Update:

Hi everyone!

10 days have passed since my HT. There is still a little irritation here and there on the donor area. I can see it is healing though!

I connected with Eugenix about hair graft coming out on day 8th while massaging the scalp and they confirmed it was a graft since there was a little bleeding as well.

I have to do my 4th head-wash today. As of now, I still have a few scabs which didn’t come off until yesterday and I am not forcing them to come off either.

I am sharing photos of today. @Experts of this group please do provide your inputs on how everything is looking?

Hi @Singh1276- This is all looking good and normal to me. I am 11 months post-Eugenix and am super happy with results (you can check my thread).

Like you, I and lots of others) was completely paranoid with the head wash, scabs, etc...it is totally understandable. I took until about the 10th or 11th day for all scabs to come off (4-5 head washes).

I think your scalp and donor look excellent- totally on par- as there seems to be only a couple of scabs left. Definitely trust the Eugenix Care Team with this process.

Any BTW, don't worry if you lost 1 graft, it will not make a difference in the outcome.

I am guessing your final scabs should come off in the next day. After that, just protect from the sun for a few months and sit back and relax as the outcomes unfold :).

Thanks! Yes and the shed has already begun.
The patience game begins.

when does the redness and skin irritation subside typically?

You're welcome. My redness took probably 3-4 months to completely subside (although not really noticible after several weeks), others happen sooner

1 month update:

Hi everyone!
I am a little late to provide the update. At the moment I am at 1 month 4 days :)

First and foremost, I would like to show appreciation for @Eugenix Hair Sciences staff for their regular follow ups and answering any queries I had post 1 week recovery period.

Now to the updates:
My donor and receiver area have fully healed and the redness has subsided as well.

I have faced intense shedding to a point losing 10+ small hairs a day but I believe it’s part of the cycle.

As for post medication, I am just having Finasteride and Vitamins.

I am hopeful of fast regrowth! However, I am concerned about shock loss for which I have posted  in another post( after this ).

Is this shock loss? I am concerned!

I have noticed hair on my right side of forehead have vanished to a large extend which has raised my eye brow and I am very concerned if this id shock loss or the area will not see any regrowth? Should I be concerned?

For reference, see the bald path next to the temple. I never noticed such weird recession68668b7e-c4ee-4ff6-bc44-11d5054f2fb0.thumb.jpeg.15842c2fd746daae6e9211e148cfd923.jpeg

I think during this ugly duckling phase, possibly you’ve experienced shock loss for the non transplanted hair. In addition, transplanted hairs also in the shedding phase. As a result, that portion has some bald spot. But don’t worry with time those native hairs will return. And possibly at three month mark you might notice some growth for the transplanted hairs.

I hope native hair return soon :) thanks!

@Singh1276
Thank you for the update. The shedding period is continued, which lasts approximately 90 days from the date of your procedure. After that, you'll experience gradual growth month by month. Also, please do not worry about the native hairs, they will regrow again.

Keep us updated on your progress.

Warmest Regards
Eugenix Hair Sciences

Thank you @AGL77 and @MildSeven for checking in!

Hi everyone!

Today I have completed 3 months of HT
There’s not a lot to update yet other than shedding has subsided. I am unable to distinguish native vs new hair( if they started sprouting ) as i still had native hair over my head.  Please suggest if you notice anything concerning that i might be missing.
Ps: I am sitting under direct light.

For after care:

I take finasteride and multivitamins

Hi everyone,
I am/ used to be NW2/2.5 flew to India from Canada for a HT procedure with Eugenix. I would like to begin by saying I was very happy by hospitality of Eugenix staff, their coordination, doctors etc.

A little about me: I am a 25M and I hail from New Delhi, India but settled in Canada. I have been noticing receding hairline since 2018( age 20 ). I was just using minoxidil since then( bad guidance by dermatologist) until February 2023 when I consulted with Eugenix and started Finasteride 1mg every night. Within 2 months I had a hair shedding phase, followed by maintaining the hairline. When hair-loss stabilized after 6  months of Fin, I booked the procedure with Eugenix and was quoted 1800 grafts.( pretty spot on given all the consults were online ).

Coming to the day of procedure:

I was asked to report by 10:00AM where they greeted with me coffee and did pre op checks. My Heartbeat was a little higher ( maybe I was nervous ) thus had to take anti anxiety with other standard pre operative medicines.

This was followed by pre op photoshoot and then a meeting with Dr. Vinita where we planned the hairline. I have always had a huge forehead and recently learnt bone on my right side of forehead is more prominent than my left side which led to a lot of discussion and including Dr. Sushil about how to provide natural look.
Final discussions were followed by pre op shoot of design and then the procedure began which lasted for approximately 6 hours.

Slits were performer by Dr. Vinita and implantation and extraction of follicles were done by senior techs with Dr. Vinita monitoring every now and then. The patient coordinator and Dr. Vinita kept asking in between if I am okay, feeling any pain, need a break, water etc. which was really nice of them to care for the comfort of patients so much.
Towards the end, when hairline was being constructed, Dr. Vinita was actively involved, doing some insertions herself and guiding the techs as well.

All in all, I remember to have been told 4 layers of single hairs in hairline followed by 2 and 3 hair grafts in mid scalp region.

I wanted hairline to be a little lower but doctors informed that it isn’t possible due to muscles being present which are responsible for movement of forehead. Please don’t get me wrong, I am still content with the new hairline :) and trust Dr. Vinita and her abilities.

I am sharing my pictures, please provide insights on what you think about the restoration, hairline and density.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Hi @Buffaloboy, @Pukimay
Thanks for checking in! I was about to post it since my 6 months complete today :)

I feel the growth is on track and going well. I don’t have much complaints right now! The difference between 3 and 6 months is huge! I still see thin baby hairs growing and can’t wait to have full growth!

To everyone reading,Please do provide your inputs!

My only regret is having a prominent bone on right side due to which hairline could not be brought much lower :) but hairstyles cover that up easily!
