its not rocket science, the results are great, what he Is doing is no different from anyone else in terms of technique, but what is different is his and a few other docs approach to this SAFE area your only suppose to take from, I went aggressively bald very early like many on the forum and dont see a problem going right up to the borders, but many docs just won't do it, and thats the difference, nothing mind boggling, just he sees and trust the process himself

A bit wrong but think what you want. Just look at how the donor heals a day or two after surgery, very very few can replicate this.

You are getting significantly less trauma to the donor, the combination of homogenous extraction and this increases the amount of available grafts drastically.

Had my second hair cut today since my first procedure (not counting Dr Zarev shaving the sides for second procedure). Some before and afters. Also a few of where I came from albeit with different lighting.

At this point nearly all the grafts from the second procedure (Oct ‘23) have cycled and fallen out and will start sprouting randomly in the next couple weeks (at least that was my experience with first procedure in Jan ‘23). Still some donor shock loss which should take another two months two recover.

Truly an excellent result. What was the overall cost? Forgive me if this was already answered.

Eugenix and a lot of other clinics heal donor fine and quickly too etc, but they are not that way inclined to go beyond the typical safe zone, thats the main difference tbh, I am not saying he isn't great as he is, but he is just willing to do what looks best overall for both donor and head in general

Not true. Look at Bisanga,Freitas Eugenix they all go high up in the donor area.

Look at Zoomster & Gatsby they took from high in there donor

12,138 Grafts (hairtransplantation.bg) great example not much different from Gatsby except zarev gets 12k from scalp.

Its way ahead of anyone else that is a bad donor & small as well

all no different to Zarev arguably they rest go closer to the lateral humps

I actually find myself wishing hair from higher up my head had been used. It's easy to end up with a band of hair which has neither miniaturised or been extracted from between donor and implanted hair which looks less natural than homogenous extraction.

Of course, it does rely on halting your hair loss so that transplanted hair isn't affected by DHT.

Incredible! I have my consult with him in 3 months can’t wait.

What NW did he say you were heading to, and how strong was your donor? Super impressive results man

You'll be impressed. He's a really affable man and very knowledgeable. The new clinic is nice. As an aside Bulgaria is awesome. I made friends with some locals and thought the sights and food were great. If you care about such things you ought to hang out there for a bit. You may not have time or interest though. @Grouse

WTF This makes zero sense . Dr Zarev needs to train other doctors .

At this point no one can compete with these types kinds results …

He's meant to start training in the next year or two. @THE GAME

Perhaps. He does use a smaller punch though. Less heal time, less scarring, more scalp contraction. @Stewie

Yeah he is levels above the herd. Other might catch up later.

I remember during my consultation he told me, he tried some training debut with some docs and when they saw the working time/spent on each person they just gave up haha ! He is a machine, people don't realize enough.

ha ha. yeah, I could see a new surgeon watching Dr. Zarev crank out a 20 hour day and think "nah, I'll find another specialty." Dr. Zarev is an incredible work ethic. @MC117

4 euro per graft on the first surgery. 5 euro per graft on the second surgery. He did make some consolation though when he moved more grafts than originally quoted. Seemed very generous of him.

Perhaps more clinics will extract wider zones over time. @Stewie

Yes, it's possible that balding will progress further than anticipated. But that's why I'm glad I have 2,500+ in reserve. And I'm totally fine taking finasteride. Talk of side effects appear to be overblown when compared with the research data. @BackFromTheBrink

It’s dependent on the patient. For me, the hair below my lateral humps is the thickest and most robust.

Well glad that i schedule my consult last month at 5 euros/graft.. and even that way was only to 12/26 lol

It's the only price he has right now, no on scheduled prices are available. I can't see that changing, for those guys already booked then yeah they would have had it cheaper.

I had a consult in 2026 too but can’t wait another 3 years for surgery just to save a bit of $$$, 9 euros still feels more than reasonable for his results.

I bet he’d be booked for years even if he charged 20 euros per graft tbh, hope I get in before prices go up. There’s a lot of bald guys with tens to hundreds of millions in net worth that would pay any price for a full head of hair without meds.

2 months post second procedure. 11 months from first procedure. No real changes. After my first procedure 2 months was the worst of the ugly duckling phase. Can now feel and see a few tiny new hairs. It’s onward and upward from here.

Donor is healing well. I think it will look untouched in few months. And this is after 12 k grafts😅 I saw in real life people with destroyed donor just after 6k, but it was of course job of a hairmill.

@hairman22 I'm eager for it to fill in but that won't happen for another two months.

@mtb probably the best results I have seen congratulations ! Are you on any medication like finastride or dutastride ?

I do a half dose of finasteride orally currently. My own choice, not Dr. Zarev's recommendation. I tolerate it just fine. You should look at clinical studies before making the decision. Sides are just not as prevalent as the internet would have you believe. Not to take anything away from men who do get them but the incidence seems very small based on the research. @bigmistake

@GeneralNorwood This time around is so much easier. Not checking in the mirror nearly as often like after the first procedure.
