Hundley
Hi everyone, I decided to have my hair transplant and it has been six weeks and a couple of day since that operation took place. My concern is, a) there's numbness in the frontal region, and b) will this pinkness go down? The transplanted area is pink and well defined. Is this typical? Thanks. Senior Member JDEE0 Posted October 7, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted October 7, 2021 What sort of level of numbness? And yes it's quite usual to have lingering redness for a number of months, especially if you're fairer skinned.
Hundley
Here is a picture of a segment which I think illustrates the situation. I had a FUE. 2888 grafts, aprox. 7,000 hairs. The numbness is such that I can not feel my fingernails tapping on the scalp. The area is and around the forelock. I believe the area may have decreased slightly and I do feel "tingling" around the edges, still, I'm concerned. I am surprised the pink colouration has persisted this long. The doctor was Dr. Rahall, done in Toronto. Edited October 7, 2021 by Hundley
Senior Member Britanium Posted October 7, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted October 7, 2021 The redness/pinkness can linger for a few months. Dr Rahal was a excellent choice ! Stay in contact with the clinic with any concerns 👍🏽

I was also numb in the donor area but it is a little better.

Regular Member Runitback Posted October 8, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted October 8, 2021 I’m also 4 weeks and have slot of numbness on top of head and recipient area. I don’t think that’s an issue

Senior Member gillenator Posted October 8, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted October 8, 2021 The numbing sensations are from severed nerves which take time to heal and the redness should dissipate with time.
