Hi,
This is my first post to this site.
My situation: I have made a non-refundable deposit of $1,500 to book my surgery date, a month from now.
As I review this site, concerns have arisen for me.
I have chosen a surgeon, Dr. Rahal, who is more than twice as expensive as any other surgeon in Toronto I have consulted with. I did this as Dr. Rahal specialises in hair transplants, is well reviewed (in my elementary research), I have a suspicion that you get what you pay for, and I was impressed by the sales representative. I was ready to invest this much as it is very important to me that my hair transplant be undetectable and good.
Upon reading threads related to "Rahal" here I have discovered, 1) that Dr. Rahal's patients haven't been posting as frequently as they used to, 2) some have had major complaints with Dr. Rahal, 3) my expectations of an undetectable hair plant may be too high, and 4) it may be that Dr. Rahal is in the business of restoring hairlines to full youthful vigour, which would be unnatural in my case (I am 50).
Is Dr. Rahal old fashioned and obsolete (out of date with modern techniques and contemporary expectations)? One thread suggested excellent results can only be expected 1/10 times, and 2/10 times were failures. The remaining 7 out of 10 were, on average, middling (which is the same as a failure for me, for fear of being detectable).
Two other quotes for me (from SpaMedica and Dr. Asaria's Face clinic) came in at $9,000, vs. $22,000 for Dr. Rahal. Does this make sense?
Even with the loss of the deposit, I would cut my costs dramatically by going elsewhere, and I am far from rich.
Also, is 3,000 grafts too much for a single sitting (this was in my quote)?
Your responses would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
