why do they take the hair so high in the donor in some cases?

like it will be a great result though in a few months though

I imagine the thresholds varies in patient to patient.  I don’t think my donor area was the best including hair caliber so Dr Ferreira had to box clever.

Quick update for everyone:

We’re now at the 3 months post op date.

Photos attached taken indoors,  indoor with the flash on my phone and outdoor in natural light - all taken today.

There seems to be new baby hairs appearing every couple of days and things generally feel like they’re moving in the right direction.

Looks like it's growing to me. Still appears quite red for 3 months, or is it the lighting/camera? Has the Dr commented or advised you on possibly using a cream to clear redness?

Which hotel did you stay at and do you recommend it?

I'm scheduled for mid January.

I would say it’s still more red than most other post op cases I’ve seen at this stage, but slowly subsiding.  Aloe gel is the only thing I’ve been using. It definitely looks worse on camera.

Hotel Apartmento Solverde, there were cheaper options but this was recommended by the clinic.

Good luck with January, I’ll bet you can’t wait.

Actually, I tore my Achilles 4 weeks ago. I'm still on a knee scooter at the moment. I'm from the US so I'm not looking forward to 20 hr travel days in my condition but in 3 weeks hopefully I can wobble around in the walking boot. Of course this has me quite anxious at the moment.

I was looking at the same hotel. Did you book it or did you let Alexandra book it?

Would you not be better trying to switch your date and go back when you can walk?

I thought about it but I booked it in March. I bet he's a year out now and canceling 3 weeks out might put them in a bind as well. The good thing is I'm currently off of work due to my ankle so I guess that's the trade off. I broke my other Ankle about 4 years ago so I'm also pretty acclimated to getting around on knee scooters. The biggest pain I believe will be Flying and Airport with luggage as I'm going alone. This week I'm going to attempt a trial run with luggage to see if I'm being too optimistic though.

How painful were the anesthetic injections??

In 1-10, maybe 1.5-2!  I think he uses some very tiny needles and while injecting it he does some skin shaking arpumd it so it's pretty much painless.

More annoying is the numbness later on!

I am the person who's very afraid and hates hospitals, taking blood samples, seeing blood, surgeries and so on! I'd rather hide in a bush like a dog that went to real surgery.  I have panic from it but this kind of surgery (which i wouldn't even call it a surgery) was no problem for me and i would do it again without problem, it's just minor skin piercing. I had more fear and problem with taking blood sample, i'd rather do FUE HT than giving blood sample anytime.

I had many doubts before surgery, i almost gave up but now i'm super glad i didn't, my only regret is not doing it before, man i would save many hours in fornt of the mirror hiding baldness not to mention low self esteem.

Only downside if you ask me is the ugly ducking phase and waiting for hair to start growing....and doing bloodwork before surgery, i hate it!

Hi All,  checking in with some photos taken today.  We’re now 4 months post op with Bruno Ferreira

Im noticing single sprouting in the hair line and and aesthetically it’s looking fuller.  Still pinker then I’d like in the recipient area but to be fair much more drastic under the flash of my iPhone.

Over all I’m really pleased and can notice a big difference vs this time last month

I’ve just attended a friends wedding and had lots of nice comments which has given me a huge boost in confidence

Wow! Looking really good 👍

I can't wait to see next month for you! Looking like a huge success so far.

I'm fresh on my journey but can't wait to be at the 4-5 month mark. Dreading the ugly phase for sure.

I know the feeling mate. My friend has just had his op a month ago and is majorly stressed about the whole affair in particular the ugly duckling phase, I said to look at it like little lottery win that you can’t draw out the bank for 6 months.
