I know you're partly joking, but I'm fairly certain he would've gotten similar results with finasteride. Dutasteride isn't some magical treatment. Dutasteride isn't some magical treatment. Seems even .5mg Dutasteride reduces DHT by larger percentage than 5 mg Finasteride daily and has slightly lesser side affect.
