San Francisco HT Surgeon Getting a Hair Transplant with Dr. Mohebi

Recommended Posts

  • Senior Member

Hi everyone! As some of you may know, Dr. Mohebi has recently partnered with fellow hair transplant surgeon Dr. Manu Gujrati, (aka Dr. G 😎), and he's recently decided to get a hair transplant with Dr. Mohebi. ("How the turn tables", for those of you who enjoy a reference from The Office. Lol.) We'll be documenting the entire process as he moves through all the stages of his hair restoration journey, and I'm excited for all of us, myself included, to get to know him better along the way.

Read on below to learn more about Dr. G, and to hear what he and Dr. Mohebi have to say about his upcoming procedure. I'll be keeping this thread updated with photos, videos, and announcements should anyone want to follow along!  - Brent/pkipling

Hair Transplant Surgeon Becomes a Hair Restoration Patient

For more than 10 years, Dr. Manu Gujrati has helped patients gain the full head of natural looking hair they have long desired. As the Medical Director of Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration in Northern California, he passionately enjoys working with patients from all walks of life. Now, Dr. G is getting ready to take a step rarely seen before in the hair transplant community:

The physician is about to become the patient….and he invites you to follow him on his hair transplant journey!

“I know that some people hesitate to take the step towards hair restoration surgery and I want them to have a real view of what it is like,” Dr. G says. “Plus, this is the ultimate way for me to truly understand what my patients go through by actually stepping into their shoes.”

Dr. G Hair Restoration Journey

Dr. G Hair Transplant Journey

In early March of this year, Dr. G will travel from his home base of San Francisco to Los Angeles to undergo a hair transplant with his fellow surgeon and practice partner, Dr. Parsa Mohebi. The team that works hand-in-hand with Dr. G while routinely performing hair transplant surgeries for his patients will now be trusted to do the very same for him! According to Dr. G, his decision to have hair restoration surgery has been some time in the making. He feels that now is the right time for him (personally and professionally) to have the procedure.

He is also thrilled to be able to share his story with you as the Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration team will document the journey with exclusive videos and other behind the scenes info about each step of the process.

We will visit Dr. G at his home and office as he prepares for the procedure. We will also hear, in his own words, what the prospect of the hair restoration surgery means to him and why this is the perfect moment for him to undergo hair transplant surgery.

We will also show you the meeting between Dr. Mohebi and Dr. G when Dr. G travels to our Los Angeles hair restoration center. These two experienced hair transplant surgeons are colleagues and talk on a regular basis about their experiences at our Los Angeles hair transplant center and our San Francisco hair restoration medical office. Their relationship will be taking on a different aspect as Dr. G puts himself in the medical care of Dr. Parsa Mohebi.

Dr. G and Dr. Mohebi Discuss the Upcoming Hair Transplant Procedure

When asked why he chose Dr. Mohebi to perform his hair transplant, Dr. G said “The idea of having my own hair transplant has been on my radar for a little while. I have had the opportunity to meet many talented and experienced surgeons over the years but the timing never felt right to have the procedure. I got to know Dr. Mohebi and joined the team at Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration. While getting to know Dr. Mohebi on a personal level, I have observed that we share the same passion for providing the best results for our patients. After having many private conversations about the level of caring and commitment we both have for our patients, the idea of taking this journey together was an obvious decision.”

“I felt a full range of emotions when discussing this idea with him,” Dr. Mohebi said of Dr. G joining the list of his doctor patients. “I was both flattered that he chose me as his surgeon and excited to help him achieve his hair restoration goals. I was also touched that he was willing to share his story with me that went all the way back to one of his very first haircuts as a young child. We talked about his family, his religion and the reasons why he waited until now to have a hair transplant.”

Los Angeles Hair Transplant for a Good Cause

Dr. Mohebi pointed out, “I was also moved to hear he wants to donate his current long locks of hair to a charity that makes wigs for those that are lacking in hair due to medical reasons or cancer. That is so inspiring! I was already a fan of Dr. G as a person and a medical professional but the chance to take this journey with him is one that I never expected!”

Dr. G Shares His Story with the Public

Dr. G realizes he is in a unique position when it comes to being able to share his hair restoration experience with others. “My hair transplant surgery puts me in an educational position that not many others surgeons are able to experience. The process of having a hair restoration procedure is very scary and intimidating to some people. They are not sure what is involved as well as what to expect before, during and after the surgery. I am looking forward to being able to share my personal story with patients to give them an inside view of what they will experience physically and emotionally. If my personal journey can help someone make the decision to gain the hairline they have always desired, I am more than happy to put their mind at ease.”

Along with sharing his journey through videos and blogs, Dr. G will also be hosting a Reddit AMA in the near future. “There are many Reddit users that often post questions in hair loss forums. They would benefit from hearing from a hair transplant surgeon that also had the same concerns about his hairline and decided to do something about it. The education opportunities are endless with my upcoming hair transplant procedure.”

@pkipling

Tara has invited me to film the surgery live. I will be there the whole day, hopefully I can get a quick little interview with Dr. Gujrati so the community can get to know him a bit better. I'll be posting some live updates of the surgery on Instagram and posting the complete vide on YouTube. Very excited.

For those who may have missed it. I filmed in 2019. I was just starting the channel, so I anticipate this time around it will be a lot better.

Verrry exciting! I may see if I can swing by the office that day as well for a bit and finally get to meet you in person. :) And an interview with him would be ideal, so I'll let them know to try and make that happen.

And speaking of getting to know Dr. G a bit better, here's a video we uploaded to our YouTube page last October. I've yet to meet him face to face, but the time I have spent with him on Zoom has shown me why he's the perfect surgeon to partner with Dr. Mohebi. They both have the same easy going, pleasant, and warm energy - and I think he's going to be a wonderful addition to this community.

Update! Dr. G had his procedure with Dr. Mohebi this past Monday (2,675 grafts/FUE), and I'm very excited to share some content with you all as this progresses. Melvin was there as well and documented portions of the procedure on the HTN Instagram page if any of you want to check that out. I have other video content as well we're getting together, but in the meantime, here are the immediate pre-op and post-op photos... And I must say I am quite envious of the temple work he had done and can't wait to see how this turns out. The work is incredibly clean and refined and it's going to look incredible.

More videos/content coming soon. - brent/pkipling

Here's another video as well of Dr. G documenting the first 7 days after his procedure, so you can get a more complete picture of what the first week following a hair transplant is like. I'll get some official pictures from the office today as well. :)

I saw him 2 weeks ago and he still keeps short hair.  He said since the HT, he no longer feels the need to have long hair.

Dr. G is very thorough and professional, he gave the best consult.  Note, I did pay for the consultation, which is fine by me.
