Regular Member lopress65 Posted June 26, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted June 26, 2020 This seems like it is probably something that I should just try to ignore, but is there anything I can do to stop recipient site itchiness 2-days post-op? I've been super careful not to touch it, but if this itching doesn't stop, I fear I may accidentally/instinctively scratch my scalp.

If it gets unbearable the maybe you can take some medication to control he itching. It will soon go away by itself. Senior Member aaron1234 Posted June 26, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted June 26, 2020 Maybe ask your doc for permission to use Hydrocortisone 1% on the recipient site. I had to do that post-op on a few occasions since my skin is prone to inflammation. Senior Member BDK081522 Posted June 27, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted June 27, 2020 Just spray the grafts when the itching becomes unbearable. You'll get some relief but it doesn't last long. Spraying won't hurt anything so feel free to spray as much as necessary. It will eventually dissipate but the first week is difficult for sure. Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted June 27, 2020 Administrators Share Posted June 27, 2020 Itching is normal, people are way to careful with their grafts, you can clean the area, and that should help relieve some of the itching.
