Mik
I’m only 21 and this how the top of my head looks like. It’s honestly devastating mentally so i want to get a hair transplant this summer. What do you guys think about having a hair transplant at such a young age?
Regular Member hakona Posted February 4, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted February 4, 2020 go for consultations and don't wait. Are you on Med? if not you should consider it! many doctors might ask you to wait to see how your hair will stabilize but bottom line go for a consult and start on med to stop it! be proactive body!

Not on any medication yet. Went to my doctor and he wasn’t as worried as i am. He said that am too young and should give it more time to see how it develops
Senior Member paddyirishman Posted February 4, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted February 4, 2020 I think you should wait and look at your hair situation when its more stable. You still have a lot of hair. A HT at this point in time would not be a good plan. Paddy
Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted February 4, 2020 Administrators Share Posted February 4, 2020 It's a bad idea, I recommend treating the hair loss first. I suggest getting on finasteride, minoxidil and try microneedling 3-4x per week. The instant solution would be hair fibers. I would recommend this over hair transplant surgery at this moment. 3 I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. I do not receive any compensation from any clinic. That why my body keeps telling me to get a hair transplant

Thank you for your kind advice and i will definitely take it into consideration. When do you think is the right time for a hair transplant. Would you also suggest to just leave my hair fallout and then get it done in 5-7 years from now?
Senior Member paddyirishman Posted February 4, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted February 4, 2020 (edited) You hair loss is patchy, if you fill in those patches now and more patches of baldness occurs around the newly transplanted you will want to fill that in also. How long will that go on for ? Nobody knows. You will end up chasing your hair for life , and when you use up all your doner in the beginning you will have nothing left. You will have tufs of hair here and there and baldness everywhere else . You will be 10 times worse off than you are now. Forget about what your body is telling you now..WAIT. Concentrate on researching on how to hold on to what you have, that's your priority. Paddy. Edited February 4, 2020 by paddyirishman

Went to my doctor and he wasn’t as worried as i am. He said that am too young and should give it more time to see how it develops Get on meds ASAP. Oral finasteride and topical minoxidil. Try to avoid stressors. There are topical solutions of minoxidil and finasteride combined and these topical solutions have been well studied with proven efficacy. The thing is though these solutions aren't available in the US and sourcing them can be problematic and you don't really know what's in the bottle. Keep us posted mate. Senior Member Cahustler Posted February 4, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted February 4, 2020 I was in the same situation in my later twenties. Try minoxidil and maybe oral finasterides if you’re not sexual active. i would not go for a HT at your age. it would be a disaster if other hairs fall out in the next few years

I was thinking about getting a hair surgery done again after few years when everything falls out. And yes i am sexual active so that why I’m scared about using finasteride
Regular Member JP34567 Posted February 5, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted February 5, 2020 Do not get HT at this age. I recommend you take the Meds (finasteride, Menox), Vitamins for skin to slow down your hair loss PRP may even work for you. Use keratin fibers e.g toppix. that will help hide the patches you currently have. After some years I say 35+ reconsider getting HT. Also you need to get an approximate idea of how bad your baldness will get. look at your family history in regards to balding patterns is your Dad, Grand father, Older Brothers, Uncles 3 - 6, or 7 norwoods? It doesnt hurt I guess to perhaps get a phone or in person consultation with some top surgeons in your area just for evaluation purpose?

Get on the big 4 routine: Minox/Finasteide(try a low dose 0.25 or 0.5mg daily/Nizoral 1-2x a week and get a derma stamp or pen and start microneedling. Check out my thread on microneedling. https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/54717-microneedling-may-2019-progress/
