Senior Member bennyt89 Posted January 30, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted January 30, 2018 I have my HT scheduled for this time next week. On my pre op instructions it states to not use any styling products the day of the surgery for obvious reasons. But should I cease to use these leading up to the surgery at all? I like to use hairspray to style my hair. I'm planning on giving my hair a good wash a few days before the HT and on the day of also. Is this OK? Senior Member voxman Posted January 30, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted January 30, 2018 Your plan is fine. They just want you with clean hair the day of the procedure. I'm serious. Just look at my face. My Hair Regimen: Lather, Rinse, Repeat.
Senior Member Dr Tejinder Bhatti Posted January 30, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted January 30, 2018 Mr. Bennyt89, This is a valid concern but aside from confirming with your clinic first, they will most likely be washing your hair thoroughly the morning of your procedure anyway. Good luck with your procedure.
Senior Member gillenator Posted January 30, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted January 30, 2018 Interesting...my hair was never washed by any clinic on the day of any of my 4 procedures. Senior Member home1212 Posted January 30, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted January 30, 2018 wash your hair the morning of your procedure and do not use any styling products - if this bothers you, just wear a hat to your clinic - your head will be shaved for an FUE procedure anyway so you won't be looking so great post op anyway

Senior Member matt3480 Posted January 31, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted January 31, 2018 Never had the clinic wash me either before my HT's......we are instructed to use an anti-bacterial soap the night before and morning of on the scalp, face, neck, etc.
Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted January 31, 2018 Administrators Share Posted January 31, 2018 You can use styling products up in to the night before, the morning of surgery, you will wash with antibacterial soap. When you can resume wearing products depends on your clinics instructions, a good rule of thumb however is once the grafts have shed. I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network.
