Regular Member bondi Posted February 19, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted February 19, 2016 today was my fue date with dr. diep. i thinking it turned out well - we shall see in 4 months? One thing he noted was my hairloss was unique as i still had plenty of baby hairs. And thus he reduced the amplitude of the hairline zig zags. i just want to say that i appreciate the other forum members how has posted amazing detsil blogs - which was a hugh influence in selectin him. I'm pretty tired atm - i'll check back in later pre-op post-op

Regular Member bondi Posted February 20, 2016 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 20, 2016 Mods could you revise the title to 1630 grafts. So here we go, 2nd day post op pic. it's challenging to take back selfies,, and to wash the donor area according to the Dr's instruction when you live alone. Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted February 20, 2016 Administrators Share Posted February 20, 2016 It looks good, hairline looks like mine did, the zig zag I think is what really helps, others disagree but I absolutely love the design when it's grown out those singles that are zig zaged make it look really soft and natural. Regular Member bondi Posted February 22, 2016 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 22, 2016 thanks everyone for your support. Day 4 post-op. It was the first time using graftcyte shampoo gently on the reciepient area. the reciepient area is healing nicely although there is a small patch of scab on my left temple area. Dr. advised this was normal and to continue the post op instructions. the donor area is healing nicely - although last night was the first time i felt a localized sharp pain - I took a valium and went back to sleep. back of my head is slightly swollen still, not so much the face. Regular Member bondi Posted March 2, 2016 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 2, 2016 (edited) thanks guys, i love the new hair line. Been getting a lot of looks and a lot of compliments from the ladies as roughly all the scabs were gone by day 6 in the recipient area. Below are almost my 2 week post-op pics, and as you can see my temples are beginning to shed, and also I have experienced some shock loss in the back - it's starting to suck. I will begin to update monthly now. Edited March 2, 2016 by bondi

Regular Member bondi Posted March 25, 2016 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 25, 2016 The numbness in my scalp is gradually disappearing although it still tingles - hopefully the nerve endings will fully heal in the coming months. From my last post, i thought i would have shockless in the back, however it does not appear that is the case. But I do feel there is some degree - it's just not as visible. On to my recipient area I lost 95pct of donor hair at week 3, and now at week 5 I can say i lost 99pct. The redness is slowly fading, but you probably cannot tell from this picture. In person it looks pink. Also I can see my peach fuzz growing back at the temples.
Senior Member JohnCasper Posted March 25, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted March 25, 2016 Everything looks great. You appear to have great donor areas. You obviously have plenty of hair to move around in the future if you choose. The scalp tingling/numbness will remain for many months but will slowly dissipate. Keep growing. Senior Member matt1164 Posted March 26, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted March 26, 2016 you do have great donor. I am 4 weeks post op with dr. diep but my transplanted hairs haven't shed yet. even though I'm glad that I still have them I kinda wish they would fall out so at least I am following the same pattern as other guys I've seen with great results. I still get tingly feelings throughout the donor but never really had any pain and very little swelling. My face or eyes never swelled up and only the left side of my head is a little swollen and that just happened this week.

As for the shedding timeline, it varies a lot based on the individual as anyone knowledgable will tell you. However, I can say that I do feel like my process has mirrored the individuals with early results. My grafts grew 1/4" before they shed, so I got a comfortable feeling that the grafts were implanted correctly (hopefully). I also believe that a humidifier will help the healing process, as I have mine set on high, and all my scabs fell out at day 6 and now at 5 wks I do not have any dryness in the donor area anymore. Once again, thanks John!

Regular Member bondi Posted May 17, 2016 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 17, 2016 Thanks guys for the compliments. I am very excited and more importantly, i no longer need to wear a hat or beanie out. Here's one more i took inside my car. There are a lot of hairs that still need to mature and grow out. Dr. Diep installed alot of 2's that i see starting to thicken from its current peach fuzz state.

Regular Member bondi Posted June 22, 2016 Author Regular Member Share Posted June 22, 2016 Here's my 3.5 mo update taken with bathroom lighting. Compare to my 5 weeks - I achieved crazy earlier results and there is still a lot more hairs growing and thickening each week. I can see the diep zig zags taken form. Note that my right temple growth is growing slower than the left, but i still see a lot of hairs starting to thicken at the shaft. Overall my experience has been good. Also the fue red scars are almost gone, but i'll keep the sides long for now.
