Regular Member KConK Posted September 24, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted September 24, 2015 Hi guys I have posted this video in my first thread but have had some suggestions that it should be in a new thread so here it is. Sorry it took so long, we welcomed baby no 3 last week, my first boy In case the link doesnt work my Youtube name is 'thespecialist7', just type that in and my vids should come up. I've said before that I've been honest to people about having the op as I never felt the need to hide it which is positive, but on the flip side I get asked so many questions when I tell guys or if theyre told from someone else. As you will see (if you do watch) on my channel I quite like doing the odd video where I can pass on information, like how to build a wall haha! So I thought why not do a video about my transplant! I've tried to cover the questions which I had before I went ahead, and the ones which I have been asked the most. I've also done a demo wash at the end so people can see how the hair looks wet, dry unstyled etc as I get asked that too. If any of you do watch, apologies in advance for the work shirt and dodgy camera skills....thankfully the guy who edited it for me is much better at techy stuff then 2 builders! I'm self employed so not had to brave too many building sites as such, but the lads who work from me were pretty cool about it. To be honest, I've found that the guys who take the p/ss at first when they hear about it were the ones asking me the most about how is worked and how much it cost etc once they saw the growth coming! I'm not massively into the footie to be honest but it's red all the way in my family. Yeah you after a while you get used to your new appearance, seeing the old videos and pics from my wedding and stuff, I think bloody hell yeah I used to be quite bald! Work pals were cool to be fair, I did get some stick from mates but they have been the most interested in the process and asking me all about it now that they see what a massive difference it has made to not just my hair but my happiness in general really. A couple of my close mates are wanting to get it done too so it's cool. When are you taking the plunge then? Where you having it done or you not decided yet? First off, this is my first ever post so hello everyone- secondly, hi mate, i've literally just come across your thread first looking around and have to say very impressed with your results! Bit of a cheeky question I know but i'm sure one you'll understand being asked, but how much did you pay all in all if that's ok?

Where you having it done or you not decided yet? ahh well at least you're not a dirtyield blue we can get along hahaha. I think your pattern loss helped you to have a successful procedure though. which is a plus. That's cool will they be going with the clinic you choose or stay in England? I'm really undecided to be honest. I will get it done it's just when and who with is the question which I'm not to sure about. do u go abroad or stay in the country it's a hard decision. I'm a diffuse thinner so still got a bit of hair there can't actually say I got a bold patch so I'm just worried about Shock loss which is making me think would it be clever to go abroad when if some shock loss happens and I've had a ht in the country at least I don't have to travel far. I'm really undecided.

Hi mws85 - welcome to the nut house Thanks for the compliment man, much appreciated. I paid 4,000 which included PRP , direct flights, 4 nights in a really good hotel, private transfers to and from everywhere and all the medicine, special shampoo etc. You looking at going abroad? I'm really undecided. I know what you mean mate - I was exactly the same when I was trying to decide where to go. It's a tough call. My advice would be to focus on picking the right clinic for you because shock loss could happen anywhere and if it does, it's not like the clinic will be able to do much about it, unless it was bad and needed a second op?- so I would focus on using a good clinic/one you feel confident ain to limit the chance of shockloss. How many grafts do you think you need or have you not had any consultations yet? It would be ideal if we could all be treated here in the UK but the cost just puts it out of our reach, and even though you hear horror stories about going abroad, there are a lot of horror stories from the clinics here aswell. The botch bodies shows on channel 4 have shown some repair work and they have been from work done over here. I know guys who have paid big money to be treated here and their results are really poor. I think that's what pushed me to look abroad in the first place. I took my time researching lots of clinics in Turkey and settled on a company that felt right for me and who answered all my many questions. If you're not that bald you've got plenty of time to make a decision

If you're not that bald you've got plenty of time to make a decision Thanks for the advise mate I know what you're saying in regards to picking the right clinic there is one clinic which is not far from England who's work I really like and they way they go about things just in case something does happen God forbid so that's a box ticked and to be honest they click most of the boxes which is a plus. the only thing is there isn't much of there patients stories on here to get a gauge on but that isn't a bad thing and it's not to say there on another site like this I don't know I don't really venture out of this forum. I've had a few online consultations with some top docs recommended on this site and the general consensus is around 3-5k grafts. so I know pretty much what's needed it's just going about how to do it ie breaking them up into different surgery's to maximise the grafts survival or not. I definitely don't want a quick fix solution I'm okwith breaking the procedures up into 2 or 3 procedures if that means I'm going to get the best results. I do worry about going abroad but you only ever hear bout the bad stories and not the good ones where ever you go. it's just minimising the chance of the of bad story by like you said a clinic you feel comfortable with and ticks all the boxes. I know I've got a bit of hair on top but i could always do with some more haha.

Regular Member RKHT02 Posted November 15, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted November 15, 2015 Hi mate! Baby is a dream so far, I know from experience though that he won't stay that way! And my others are girls! How about you mate, how you getting on? How's growth? and your psoriasis? Did you get any more advice from Health Travel International about it affecting growth or is it all good now? Growth is good - I've attached a pic. Feeling like my old self again (pre hair loss). Still got few months to go until the end result, but very positive so far. I have had problems with the psoriasis on and off but on the whole I have managed to control it and have good growth in the area. Health Travel have been great with me. Elizabeth (my patient advocate) has been very patient with me and given me lots of advice, she pointed me to some specific pharmaceutical products for psoriasis to use for washing and conditioning and dying the hair.
