HT Surgeon - If Money/Travel were No Object!?

Recommended Posts

I am a 30 year old male from Massachusetts. I have been researching on these forums for several years now but the overload of info has me confused again. I would love some current opinions from those who are knowledgeable.

I had FUT HT from Dr Cohen in Connecticut back in 2009 to front hairline and was never super happy with the results. The strip scar was noticeable for a few years and finally now is healed up pretty nicely but my hair was never really full or looking great.

I a wondering your opinions for me for FUE vs FUT for my situation (see attached pics). I would like to go aggressive and get my hair looking great again like it did 10 years ago!!! I am thinking front of my head and crown would need work. I am OK with the hairline but would like it to be fuller.

I am not concerned with shaving donor area if it absolutely had to be done and would yield a better result.

If money was not an object and I was willing to travel anywhere who would you recommend and what type of surgery (FUE vs FUT).

Lorenzo!! You have a large area to cover and his yield is insane!!!

Without doubt the best option!!

If fut I'd look at koniour or Hassan!

I think there's better hairline only surgeons them the above although there almost as good but for pure yield over large areas the above seem to be the best!!

Also erdogan is amazing, much cheaper so if price was nt an issue you can't go wrong with Lorenzo but erdogan I'd up there with him for half the cost!!!

It appears from the photos that the mid scalp is thinning and this has to be planned for. Are you taking meds?

Well you have a large area to cover and need a lot of grafts to get full coverage and whether that is possible depends entirely on your donor density and laxity if you are looking at another FUT session.

If you have the laxity and density then another fut will yield you the largest number of grafts in one session for you it is a numbers game and the more grafts you have transplanted the happier you will be. You already have a scar from your previous procedure and that may cause you an issue in terms of getting the high numbers it really depends on its position and width. If you can imagine another fut session will have to take out the old scar if possible and more hair bearing skin around the scar in cases such as this laxity is so so important.

If your scalp is tight then you can loosen it with scalp exercises and you may need to do this for several months before surgery. If your scalp is too tight you may be best to go the route of fue. If the scar is too low it may not be able to be removed as part of the surgery. In these cases a new scar will be taken higher up on the scalp which will have the benefit of providing you with more grafts but two scars. This is the trade off.

When I look at your area of coverage this is going to be a two stage session unless you are content with a light coverage on the crown. It really depends on what you are looking to do? You mentioned aggressive so I guess you want amap and that imo provided you have the laxity would be another fut (possibly two) followed by fue. This will yield you the best possible number of grafts if you are saying money is not object to get you as much hair as possible.

If you are not on medication I would get on that asap as saving as much of that hair that you have currently is a high priority. Cases like yours are really best seen in person by the Doctor and you should do your research on here as you are and set up some consults if possible.

I would say yes lorenzo is one of the best but holy cow vey expensive.

Take route to turkey or india and 1$ per graft

You will need atleast 7000 graft for good coverage.

In turkey and india you will be done in 9000 to 9500$ with air tickets/lodging

Remember doctor in turkey and india give discount on big package. (of course fabulous results also)
