Pete-from-Farjo
This patient who is in his late thirties dropped in to see us recently. He is using finasteride which seems to have stabilised his hair loss. He is fourteen months post op. Senior Member Rootz Posted May 28, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted May 28, 2014 An immediate post op view showing where the grafts were placed would have been helpful, but just eyeballing it for 3781 grafts his hairline seems a little light. On the plus side it looks natural and it's a nice improvement, but I would have expected a little more density.
Senior Member Britanium Posted May 28, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted May 28, 2014 have to agree with Rootz here, the hairline isnt that dense. i would have expected better for this amount of grafts really. But hey it is a marked improvement still.

Pete-from-Farjo
Thanks for the comments. Bear in mind that the grafts were placed across the whole scalp. If they had been placed just into the front half then naturally the density would be greater but the patient requested an even covering throughout. I will try to get an imm post op pic from Mick. Senior Member 1978matt Posted May 29, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted May 29, 2014 Nice result. Probably wise of him (/doctor) to sacrifice a bit of density up front since he could end up a norwood 6 or 7. Too much density would then look unnatural. 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day
Pete-from-Farjo
Thanks Matt. Hopefully the finasteride will keep working for him and his loss won't progress too much. Senior Member stinger99 Posted May 31, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted May 31, 2014 I think it looks great. Sacrificing too much in the hairline would have left the rest of the area in back on hairline much thinner
