I just want to share my experience with hair loss. About 5y ago I was researching about the HT. I just couldn't do it. Its just too much.

About a week ago I found this procedure called hair stimulation (hair tatoo). I did it 3 days ago, Love it. It looks great right away. I still need to go back in 6 weeks to finish it, but it already worth the money. Only $800 and no scars, no proepicia and no hideous HT doctors etc.

I found this procedure called hair stimulation Only $800r

Sounds like you never heard about SMP until the day you did it.

Tell me, if you wouldn't mind,

1) what led you to choose this particular clinic, operator?

2) did you ask them about color, depth of needle penetration and what did they say?

3) when it comes to hairline, were you happy to get a smooth and even 'arc' shape across your forehead?

4) the price is fair, whatever that means, you sound very satisfied. Thank u for posting, but why so cheap? HIS are charging 3000 pounds for three rounds. Why so cheap?

I will be honest, I did not do a lot of research, probably because I really liked the results of the clinic. By posting here, I am not advertising the clinic or the person, but the procedure that perhaps some never heard of.

As far as the color, we looked at multiple variation and chose a brownish color.

As far as the hairline, I created myself with her help, me it was my design and she recommended no to do a full perimeter, just about .400" before it just in case I may need to make adjustments. So we did.

She charges $750 for the first 3-4 hours, after that $150/h. MY work is not finished, I need more dense look and further out the hairline, most likely another 3h of work.

Around here its not cheap, its a fair price. There are more and more clinics and permanent makeup artist do this every day.

The results were amazing, at least for now. The same day I met with my friends, they couldn't even tell my hair fom the tat. They were like WoW this is awesome! I went to work, no one noticed anything (I am not sure if its a good thing or bad, I used to wear a hat) but at least no one said that it looked stupid or bad.

First off, was this permanent SMP or temporary? I'll assume at this point this is temporary SMP.

I'm very glad to see you stayed high with your hairline, but the perfect symmetry of it does make it look like something created by someone rather than what nature will give you over time.

If it is temporary, it's not that big a deal, but if you are doing permanent ink, you have to be very careful if you are going to work on it to give you less symmetry. I would be very careful in what you do next, i.e., don't let someone practice on your head creating a hairline. Find someone very experienced in hairlines if you are doing permanent SMP.

It is permanent. It looks good as it is, its not perfectly symmetrical, yet it looks very good. I will keep you guys updated, I will going under a needle in 5 weeks, hopefully the results will be much better.

There is always a chance of something going wrong considering the fact that this procedure is relatively new.

Here then is an example of brown used in a permanent SMP procedure. This would be the first posted here that we can confirm uses brown tones AND is 'permanent' .( using inverted commas because all SMP fades and changes)

"First off, was this permanent SMP or temporary? I'll assume at this point this is temporary SMP."

Wylie/Mikey,

Most tattoo inks are actually pigments which are composed of various minerals like Iron Oxide (metal salts). I would think the color changes and/or fades due to oxidation over time. Unfortunately there is no FDA regulation on pigments and various practitioners use different products and there's no way to really know what's in them. That's why it's important to choose someone with a good reputation. This is one of the reasons I think it is a safer choice to use true temporary pigment, and as far as I know the only company currently making a pigment that your systems expels 100% is Beauty Medical.

Mikey,

Wylie gave you some sound advice regarding hairline design/aggressiveness, especially with permanent ink. I'd proceed with caution.

Any idea how long does the fading last. I am noticing some changes, but Ive been exposed to some sun so I dont know know what to expect.

Your SMP will go through many changes as it "settles" and heals in the next 45 days. With any permanent cosmetic procedure (SMP in particular) you can expect that there will be some uneven and "patchy" fading due to the unevenness of your dermal layer. This is perfectly normal. So is a possible 30%-50% fading. Touch-ups are important. What were your aftercare instructions?

If you are happy I am happy for you! I hope you continue to post your results and keep in touch with the people in this community! I personally would like to continue to monitor your results for color change. Permanent Brown pigment has a tendency to fade to an orange color.

Maybe, just because I am a freak about hairline design, If I were you I would think about making it look slightly more irregular. It's more fitting for a Caucasian male to have a soft hairline. I think although you are happy. You could be "happier"!

Looks great Mikey79! Congrats on being the first guy I have encountered who was able to have this done for less than a Grand. I was wondering, what kind of artist did you go to? Was it someone who specializes in Scalp tattooing, or was she a permanent makeup artist? I am just curious b/c I am considering going to a woman who specializes in permanent makeup to enhance some scalp work Ive had in the past.

Nicole,

Can you talk more about the smp touch up process since you're one of the techs? When you do touch ups isn't it impossible to touch up the exact location of the pigment? Or it doesn't matter?

Also do you find that smp pigments blend it well with areas of hair?

BB, You do not want to inject pigment into a spot of existing pigment. It can make that pigment spread. For a touchup you would look for areas that are void of pigment.

As far as blending with existing hair, you either need a good amount of hair so the SMP is simply acting like cover-up (cutting the contrast between skin tone and hair) or you need to buzz down fairly tight (0-1 guard).

Yep, that's what I tried to mention to Baldybee before, SMP touchups are not done on individual dots but rather in areas that require more of them.

It's not about preserving dots, but about preserving the general look of "stubble"

go dense or go home

3y later. I did not finish the tat, i left it the way it was originally done. It's faded a little still not noticeable. No one ever questioned me.

The pictures doesn't do it justice, it looks worse than it actually is. You cant see any of the imperfections in real

Life unless someone gets up really close. And it looks more real now, with my age.
