WOW! GRATZ! I should've kept a before and after of my results... I'm also taking Rogaine for about 4 months now AM & PM as well as Propecia for the past year... Been noticing hair shed about 2 months ago. Maybe it's the Rogaine...

Keep going at it and update us on your 1 year result later :)

Have experienced any side effects

In the first month I had a slightly reduced libido and for a few days I had tenderness in my balls. Slowly these went away by month 3 libido was normal. I shed the first 3 months. During showering and styling would lose 20-30 hairs. Maybe in month 4 I would only lose 5-10.

I apply on the front inch of the hairline with the solution at night.

Does it has to be solution. As in the morning I apply solution and before I sleep I apply Regaine foam, Only on the crown.

I use solution because it was recommended by my derm. His reason is that the propylene glycol acts like a vehicle for absorption and the foam does not have pg. Also the solution is easier to apply directly to the scalp and the dosing is easier. With the foam you can lose a lot of it in the hair and half a capful doesn't go far. If you're using solution at night just make sure you do it a couple hours before bed so it dries on your scalp rather than being absorbed into your pillow.

Hey if it's working for you then keep it up. As I only do it once a day you are already doing more than me. Also fin and minoxidil are more effective on the crown than on the frontal region as per the studies.

Take care.

do you apply solution to your crown aswell or do you let the med do the work

Great question. I do not use rogaine on the crown. For the 6-8 months that I noticed the diffused thinning at the front I did not take notice of the crown. I think it was slightly thinning at the crown but I did not properly evaluate that area nor was I as concerned. I took a pic of the crown from 4 months ago and have uploaded before and after photos. Perhaps fin has been or will be effective enough.

It is a 5mg version of propecia (1mg) made by the same company (Merck) with the same active ingredient, finasteride. A prescription from a doctor is required and purchased from a pharmacy, then cut into 1/4s to have similar efficacy as propecia while saving money. It also comes in generic to save even more.

Amazing results.

And I have to agree about the minoxidil foam. It does tend to get stuck to the hair. When my foam runs out I shall only buy and use the liquid topical solution from then on.

Regimen:

Finasteride (1.25mg): Daily.

Minoxidil (5%): Twice Daily.

Super Biotin (5000mcg) Vitamin Supplement; Daily

Silica Complex; Daily
