  1. I stopped minoxidil. I don't think it has been helpful at all and it gave the follicles a texture that made my hair totally unmanageable. Waste of time and money.
  2. I'm into my third week using this. Long finished with the minoxidil. I don't miss it tbh. Early days but so far so good. There's been no shed, but the hair feels healthy and it doesn't ruin the texture like I was experiencing with minoxidil. I'll stick with it for the time being.
  3. I got some of it back on the crown, but I can't help but feel that nizoral did some serious damage to the hairline.
  4. Over the past 2 years or so, I've experimented with taking finasteride at different times of the day. I don't think it really makes a difference, but I settled on taking mine in the morning after a shower as it is the most convenient for me.
  5. No matter how sparingly I applied nizoral, it made me shed like a mofo. And I felt like it totally destroyed any gains that I had made with fin and/or minoxidil. I now give it a wide berth. In fact, I still have half a bottle left in my bathroom which has been sitting there unused for God knows how long. I don't rate nizoral. At all.
  6. If your headaches do not subside or get worse, then I strongly advise that you get an MRI. I don't intend to alarm you, but morning headaches which lessen or disappear in the early afternoon could be a symptom of something more serious which may not be related to finasteride use at all. Then again, it may be nothing at all, but better safe than sorry. All the best.
  7. I've stumbled across this product and it claims to have active ingredients that inhibit DHT production at the hair follicle AND stimulate new hair growth. These contents are Sophora Root extract, Tripeptide Complex & Soybeans Protein, and Hydrolyzed Sericin. Ever the sceptic, I decided to carry out a quick Google search and it turns out that, much to my surprise, there are indeed several unrelated online sources which back the claims made by "Rudy Hadisuwarno Hair Regrowth Serum". In fact, the copper peptide, which is found in the Tripeptide Complex, "produces results similar to 5% Minoxidil" while Sophora Root extract apparently promotes hair growth "due to 5-alpha-reductase inhibitory activity." I am seriously considering giving this a bash when my current batch of Kirkland Minox runs out (about 1 and a half months left) as I don't feel I am getting the kind of results I had hoped for after nearly 30 months of continued minoxidil use. Does anyone have any experience with this product or another product with the same or similar contents? Input and feedback much appreciated as always. Calgacus
  8. Even when just using Nizoral once a week, I made no gains whatsoever. In fact, I started balding worse than ever. I now give Ketoconazole a wide berth.
  9. I regret ever starting on Nizoral (Ketoconazole). Every time I started on it, it set me back months and I feel like I had to start again from scratch. My advice would be to just use an aloe vera and/or biotin shampoo and stick to the clinically proven pharmaceuticals (i.e. Minoxidil and Finasteride) in your regimen. Best of luck.
  10. I used Puritan Pride 5000mcg for a very long time. I didn't notice a difference. I get better results with the current Silica Complex I have been using.
  11. Hi championreb, Did you end up getting the HT with with Dr. Banbang Soegianto? Do you have any feedback? Cheers.
  12. Piven was a baldy too in Grosse Point Blank.
  13. Biggest regret for me was adding revita to my regimen. I ended up worse than when I started with that. Crap product. Take my advice: bin it. Immediately.
  14. Start with finasteride. You can add the other two over time. I returned to the UK recently and while there I managed to get 4 months supply (5mg x 28 pills) courtesy of the NHS and at zero cost to me. Well chuffed.
  15. Should minoxidil solution be rubbed into the scalp (with fingertips) or should it just be left so that it is absorbed naturally into the scalp? I've been getting mixed instructions on the correct way to apply it. How do you apply it? Which method works for you? I'd just like to make sure I am getting the most out of my usage. Thanks.
  16. As stated in my signature .....Finasteride, minoxidil and ketoconazole.
  17. I have just completed a routine blood test and I was wondering if any of the long term hair loss drugs or vitamins I have been taking have affected the outcome. The doctor who administered the blood test said that it shouldn't, but I am not so sure. The SGOT and SGPT chemistry results (45ul & 74ul respectively) indicate that I may have some liver damage and the hematology results show that my white blood cells (monocytes & eosinophiles) are somewhat on the high side. Anyone here had experience in this field?
  18. Threads like these make me glad that I haven't rushed into surgery. Not that I can afford it just yet anyway. I make less that $9 an hour, and in just over a year I've managed to save up $4000 so far.
  19. I use Revita 1% every day except Tuesday and Friday when I use Nizoral 2%. Lots of shedding and my scalp is visible where once it was covered, but the plan is to ride it out and hope for decent regrowth.
  20. I remember him revealing in an interview that he is on Propecia. He was quite frank about it.
  21. Even those online prices seem too high. I get legit finasteride over the counter here at an incredibly cheap price. 40 days supply for a mere 99.000IDR (around $10USD)
  22. He ended up NW7. Who knows how it would have gone had he tried out the medical route first before rushing (or being rushed) straight into surgery?!!
  23. Because his HT was done before his MPB stabilised, it turned out that the transplanted 'donor' hair was just as susceptible to dht as the already balding area. Essentially the 'donor' hair that was taken from the back was going to fall out in the long run, and, because of the shockloss, the whole balding process was sped up. Now he is a cueball with a smiley face scar on the back of his loafer. But hey, its your barnet, buddy. Do as you please. What do I know.
  24. zenmunk started an 'all you need to know about finasteride thread'. Check it out here: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/166975-finasteride-dosage-frequency-conception.html
