  1. What are your opinions about my donor hair area and the number of grafts that I would need to thicken the top of the head (crown/vertex) and maybe even fill in the temples? Please keep in mind that I have been on finasteride and minoxidil for the past couple of months, so I am currently in the midst of serious shedding. My hope is that the medication which I am currently using will garner good results before taking the surgical plunge. Apologies if the pics are not up to scratch.
  2. Excellent read, Sunhead. Very thorough and informative. Thanks for sharing your experience.
  3. Thanks TTP. I'll check it out. Socrates, I reckon I am between a NW3V and NW4 heading towards a NW5V. My plan is to fill in the balding vertex and crown. Maybe even fill in the temples if affordable and if enough harvest hair is available. Mickey, Turkey is just too far. The flights alone are very expensive. Places like Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore are ideal as there are plenty of low cost budget flights to these countries from Indonesia. Thanks guys. Much appreciated.
  4. You have turned Telly Savalas into Casey Kasem. A true artist, Doc. Very impressive. I am based in SE Asia and in need of a decent HT. I'll keep you in mind.
  5. I am currently on the big 3 combo of Finasteride, Minoxidil, and Nizoral but I am also looking into getting FUE treatment if I can find a quality surgeon or clinic at an affordable price. I have checked the net, and the clinics are plenty, but I would love first hand info, knowledge or testimonials from members here. I am based in Indonesia, so anywhere in South-East Asia would be ideal for me. Any advice and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Calgacus
  6. Thanks for the input, Thehairupthere. I am just unsure of what sort of results to expect from taking "the big 3". The problem is I've been losing my hair since my late teens and I am now in my early 30s. Throughout my 20s the rate of my hairloss was slow but steady, but over the last couple of years the rate has increased significantly. I am worried that it may be too late for me to expect regrowth after such a prolonged period of balding.

  8. I remember reading somewhere that there can be a delayed response to shedding if dosage is increased for those who have developed a hormonal tolerance to prolonged finasteride use. Saying that though, there hasnt been any official clinical tests that I am aware of which confirm said findings. If you DO decide to increase your daily finasteride intake, chances are you may have to wait even longer to see positive results. As for Avodart, I have next to no knowledge other than clinical testing had proven successful prior to it being scrapped. Good luck whatever you decide to do, John. Calgacus.
  9. Did the diffuse thinning coincide with the 0.25mg daily upgrade of finasteride? If so, it may just be a normal shedding effect caused by the dosage increase.
  10. I have been having difficulties finding Biotin 5000mcg where I am (Indonesia). The closest to anything remotely similar is 'Nature's Bounty B-Complex' vitamins. However, the Vitamin B7 (Biotin) contained in each tablet is only 50mcg. Is this product useful as part of a hair regrowth regime? If not, what else could you recommend someone who has problems finding a Biotin 5000mcg product? Many thanks, Calgacus.
  11. Hi all. I am a long time lurker, first time poster. I have been using finasteride (1.25g) daily for around 2 months now, as well as applying topical minoxidil (5%) twice daily, and nizoral (2%) twice weekly for around 1 month or so. It appears as though I have experienced lots of shedding because prior to starting my regimen i had just a receeding hairline with mild vertex thinning, but now my entire crown has become transparent all over and bald patches have appeared as a diffuse pattern as opposed to regular Androgenetic Alopecia. I was just wondering if such shedding is excessive, or is it merely part and parcel of the process. Much obliged. Calgacus.
  12. i use kirkwood minoxidil foam in the morning and use the 1ml drop in the evening. 2 months into it now. That along with 1.25g of finasteride (prostacom) once a day. So far lots of shedding, even baldier than ever .....but I remain optimistic.
