Senior Member BadBeat Posted December 11, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 11, 2012 So I'm about 8 months out from my 1500 FUE with Dr. Ron Shapiro. Everything has turned out spectacular. I really couldn't be happier. I was really happy after about 5-6 months but the past 2-3 months things have really thickened up and it looks even better. I've been getting a lot of comments from friends and family asking me if I've lost weight. I really haven't lost any weight (and I've never been overweight to begin with) so I'm wondering if this is a normal thing to say when they notice you look different but can't put their finger on it. I'd love to hear your stories!
Regular Member btd800 Posted December 11, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted December 11, 2012 Had a very similar thing the other day. Went to see my masseuse who I deliberately hadn't seen for 6 months because of the hair transplant . She was looking at me trying to work out what was different, saying i was looking really well, asking if I'd lost weight etc. The perfect response really. Senior Member Janna Posted December 11, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 11, 2012 Hi Badbeat, That's a pretty typical comment about weight loss as most people don't really grasp the concept of hair transplantation as an every day occurance. I was trying to look up your pics. Any chance of getting some post op pics sent in to us? Senior Member aaron1234 Posted December 11, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 11, 2012 I've gotten some general comments, like "you're looking good". But I've also had some close friends (who weren't privy at the time) saying "you're hair has never looked better" and "keep the hair dude". To which I reply, "I'll do my best." Congrats on a successful FUE Badbeat! Happy for you. Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted December 13, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 13, 2012 "Did you used to have facial hair?" "Did you get new glasses?" "Did you grow/cut your hair?" These are the comments I can remember getting the year after my first transplant. It's fun watching them try to put their finger on the change. Senior Member MrJobi Posted December 29, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 29, 2012 First of all, you have some good growth ahead if you are at 8 months ( I just hit 1 year for my FUE). Each procedure I have had people have commented that I "look" different. People think I got a nose job, lost weight, new haircut, whatever.....The funniest is the comments are on who I look like as far as celebs. When I had little hair , all the celebs they brought up were with little hair. Now ( 6500 grafts later) I always get celebs with great hair. Nuts how it changes perceptions - So cool to have been on both sides of the coin. Even seeing people with hairloss and the things they wear, do .... I don't forget where I came from!
