3,890 grafts with Ron Shapiro

I began losing my hair at the age of 23,I was fortunate to lose my hair very gradually over the years. It was very difficult to look older so soon but I rolled with it and kept my confidence level as high as I could. To be honest,My girlfriends saw me for who I was on the inside and told me I looked fine to them.I was the one who felt I was starting to look very strange with the thin hair and the balding look.I began researching for help but thank God I could'nt afford a transplant at that time because the technology and resources available to me back in the early 90's was stone age! I faced losing my hair the best I could with hats and short haircuts until recently when I decided the artistry and quality of hair transplant surgery has arrived!

Always skeptical about actually letting a surgeon permanently alter my head was scary.I did my strict research for many years until now.I had my First transplant in march,2012 with Doctor Ron Shapiro in Bloomington,Minnesota. There are only a handful of Hair transplant doctors I would consider sitting in their operating chair,But for me I needed a doctor who had an awesome track record and an eye for duplicating Gods created head of hair.I could not accept anything less than amazing.A bad hair transplant is worse than being bald! Obviously every patient has different hair characteristics but Dr. Ron has so much skill and experience doing this that in my opinion

every patient photo I have seen looks like they never had a transplant.I knew a Hair transplant would never get my original hair count back but they do give you the mature adult look that any hair loss sufferer would love to have.

I am not being compensated in any way by SMG for my comments,I only speak what is truly on my heart about what I've discovered in my depressed journey with hair loss.

If you are scheduling a hair transplant with The Shapiro medical group you are in very, very good hands. There is no need for worry. "HAIR TRANSPLANT SURGERY IS WHAT THEY DO" Thats it! The entire staff do the same thing every day,and that gives them the edge over hundreds, mabee thousands of clinics around the world. It is their calling in life.Dr.Ron looked at me and I could feel his deep concern for my feelings about achieving the best possible result with my fine,auburn-blonde hair.During Pre-op Dr Ron and I agreed on a Hairline that best suited my age ,Dr Ron will know how to create a session perfectly tailored to your Hair loss pattern and your goals and he has so much experience and confidence doing this I trusted his judgement. He is the Leonardo Da Vinci of talent. His team makes him shine too.

I am only in the post op stage but I already feel like I'm back in the High life again! Lovin it!

When I arrived back to my hotel after a 12 hour procedure I started to get very emotional about finally conqering my baldness.Having hair is one of the most important things to me if not the most important! Look out world! I'M BACK!I may seem over excited about the results so early but I am so relieved I found the right Doc for me!Hats off! (literally) to SMG!

Thank you to The entire staff at The Shapiro Medical group, Doctor Ron Shapiro, and Janna Shafer the clinical operations manager for Giving me my life back!

I received about 3,290 in the front half and 600 in crown,I still have at least 3,500 grafts left in my donor for the future but we'll see if this procedure with my meds will hold me over for a while.

Congratulations and Keep us posted Bangs.

2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK.

Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.

How are you doing Bangs? It may seem like a long road ahead but I'm always amazed at how fast time flies. It helps to keep your mind off the HT procedure. Before you know it, you'll be seeing growth. Keep us posted of your progress. Take care!

I love this forum! It is a great place to share our hair loss journey and not feel alone.

There are alot of great people on here ready to be supportive when you need them.

Thanks for all your comments guys!

Janna, I am doing great! My scar is healing very well and I'd say I shed half of the planted hairs and the other half seem to be hanging on still. I'm 4 days shy of the 1 month mark and I'm waiting patiently.I was used to not having a hairline for the past few years so I'm comfortable at this stage. I seem to have a bit of shock loss under the scar line but I am feeling stubble growing. I can also feel the hairs coming through the tricho closure! I'm very happy Dr. Ron Did that for me. I had quite a bit of tightness in the donor area for three weeks post op too,It's still very snug but I can tell my scalp laxity is coming back again.I'm glad I did 3 months of stretching exercises before my HT,They are very important to do.I'm sleeping great and I stopped worrying about going bald. I only wish I had come to see you guys years ago! Here are some pics at day 17.

Hi Bangs,

Thanks for posting your progress pics. Hopefully, the recovery time has flown by for you. Can you do SMG a huge favor and send some pics to us that are similar to the one we took pre-op and immed post op? Hope you are doing well.
