Senior Member bonkerstonker Posted June 21, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted June 21, 2011 (edited) Corv with respect no one has criticised your result because we all know you have no result your at 8 months. Well that's what I'm thinking mate. If it was 12 months I'd be upset I think but like you said there hasn't been much growth lately so you know best about your hair. Senior Member hairthere Posted June 21, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted June 21, 2011 I think that's a good decision. You really need to let your first HT fully heal, and mature. If you played it safe with #1 no need to roll the dice on #2. Also, your level of loss looks negligible compared to most guys on here. Even if you have it done in October that'll give you plenty of recovery time for next summer. Senior Member Levrais Posted June 21, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted June 21, 2011 Hi Corvettester, I am curious about your rational for postponing. I ask because I'm having ht #2 at 8 months. In my case the recipient area is a different part of the scalp. I pretty much hate them now. I get really paranoid when it comes to HTs because I don't want to screw it up. So I just decided last minute to wait a couple more months... just in case. Dr. Dorin was more than understanding and even encouraged, if not persuaded me to wait. In your case, however, if I understand correctly, FUE doesn't have to wait as long as FUT, especially if you're going into virgin territory. Of course, listen to your doctor. Bisanga is arguably the top FUE doc so I'm sure he'll be able to advise you what's in your best interest. Senior Member Levrais Posted June 22, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted June 22, 2011 Corvettester, Thanks for the comments. I'm glad to hear that you and the doc agreed on what to do. I still think your appearance is great as is and the extra couple months will fly by. Hairthere, thanks that helps. Senior Member aaron1234 Posted June 22, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted June 22, 2011 Not a bad decision to postpone in my opinion. Even after 12 months I noticed changes with my HT. A couple months and you might have a better idea what you really need to address with HT#2. Senior Member hairthere Posted June 22, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted June 22, 2011 levrais, No matter how much we may disagree on this forum, at the end of the day we are all just people coming to terms with hairloss and trying to deal with it. Btw, I think doing your TPs is a great idea. It's amazing how big a difference they make in your appearance and the success of a HT. At some point I may be a little more aggressive with mine and close off my hairline a bit. Corvettester, Again, sound decision. And Dr. Beehner made a good point about blood supply returning to the recipient area and laxity returning to donor as well... Senior Member bonkerstonker Posted June 22, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted June 22, 2011 (edited) I echo that. Us regular posters have a few fall outs but it's all about helping each other. Corv I don't mind u hating me hopefully if u get a big growth spurt over the next 4 months u may thank me as those grafts would not of survived a another ht right now because dorin would have been aiming for those gaps. Senior Member Jotronic Posted June 25, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted June 25, 2011 There is nothing wrong with waiting. At this point most of the grafts, if not all, have come in but there could be a few more. I've seen some patients take a year and a half for their result to be complete. Also, at this point your new hair that has grown in needs to soften, mature and get settled in. Yeah, I know that doesn't sound very technical or valid but it's true. You may see a difference over the next few months that can even influence your next step. SecretlyThinning
Corvettester, I think your results are great! I'm going in for a transplant to either side of my hairline in about a month, and I must say...even your earlier results were good enough at the hairline to mix with a Toppik that should mine be similar, I'd feel much more comfortable personally (you know...with wind and such) than I do now. I can't wait!
