Regular Member BrainFried Posted May 29, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted May 29, 2011 It's been a little over 6 months now since I've had my surgery. My hair stylist says the scar is hardly noticeable in the back of my head. I hope she's not lying. Albeit I've had it cut pretty short and no visible line. "THANK G-D"! Hair has grown in. I hope it'll continue because i gather I'm only mid-way. Any thoughts? I'm not sure how to post pix in here but my site is at the bottom. Senior Member corvettester Posted May 29, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted May 29, 2011 Brian, I think that you're looking good for 6 months out. I really like your result so far as it's clearly a definite improvement from where you started. You probably won't see a lot more new growth, but I do think that the maturity factor will play a big role in your final result. You have great hair characteristics, so once it all finally matures, I think it's going to look great! I don't, however, think that 3,000 grafts will be enough for what you want to achieve based on what you said in your hair loss blog. If you end up wanting more density, another 1,500 should be more than enough. Just give it at least another 6 months before even considering going back for a second pass because maturity is going to play such an important role for you. Regardless, you're looking good and I'd be very please with that result for only 6 months post-op. Senior Member Spanker Posted May 30, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted May 30, 2011 I think I have to agree the get out of the park results it usually takes 2 passes. Most consultants have told me to have an open mind about that. That said, I don't even think it looks like the same head from the preop pics to now. The hairline looks great. If nothing else happens, I would say it is a good result, but I can see where you are hoping for a little more density, so you have plenty of time for that to happen. With you just starting on fin, it in itself may give you that extra boost you are looking for in the coming months. Good luck! Keep in mind that in the before pictures your hair was dry and the after pictures are wet, yet your hair looks full and natural. You have every right to be excited, and hopefully you will keep us posted. Regards, Richard11 Employed by Dr. Bernard Arocha. Senior Member bonkerstonker Posted June 2, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted June 2, 2011 Brain you've had some pretty wise people post here and utlimatley i agree with them that in 6 months with the amount of grafts you've had in a small area you're likely to have a result a hell of a lot better than you have now. To be honest it's best not to talk about anything negative at 6 months because things will become much better very quickly so there's not much point worrying about anything now but i get the feeling from your profile you're a little concerned about how sparse your grafts are and i wanted to tell you my first ht was a slow affair which had gaps where i thought hairs wouldn't grow but i found the gaps to fill in with new hairs breaking through the scalp around the 10 to 12 months mark believe it or not so don't feel like all your hair should be through by now or anything like that. Bonkerstonker! http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=1977 Update I'm now on 12200 Grafts, hair loss has been a thing of my past for years. Also I don't use minoxidil anymore I lost no hair coming off it. Reduced propecia to 1mg every other day. My surgeons were Dr Hasson x 4, Dr Wong x 2 Norton x1 I started losing my hair at 19 in 1999 I started using propecia and minoxidil in 2000 Had 7 hair transplants over 12200 grafts by way of strip but 700 were Fue From Norton in uk
