  1. Thanks! I was a worry wart about the transplanted hair, but I believe that just goes with the territory. I did loose a few transplants but I was warned that would happen. I was extremely careful with it for the probably the 2 or 3 months. I didn't scrub the transplanted hair very hard just gently rubbed until the hair was lathered. It wasn't until the redness started going away about 2 months in that I naturally started to worry less and less about it and just feel more natural about cleaning the hair and not paying so much attention to it. There was a bit of shock loss initially but that did stop and as for the scar behind my head it's completely invisible. My hair stylist never even noticed it until I mentioned it to her. With that being said the closest I'll get with clippers is a 2 but my stylist usually uses scissors. I can't say that there has been any real loss since I had the surgery. I've taken the propecia religiously as directed along with the 5% menoxidill and 5% nizerol. I'm hoping that the loss doesn't return or until there is a cure for MPB lol. hope that helps you out.
  2. 1) Quackhairny: Thanks. I've been on propecia the entire time with 5% nizerol and I put rogain on daily. It's all just become part of my daily routine. I didn't really find anything difficult post transplant. I did the surgery right before thanks giving and took the week off afterward. Honestly, I didn't really care what I looked like when I was walking around. By the time I went back to work 10 days later my-coworkers thought I got a little sunburn on my forehead because it was a little red but they were non the wiser of what happened. It was pretty awesome to be honest. 2) Squatch. Thanks. For sure! I don't think I reached my full growth up until about a year in. 3) David. He is pretty awesome. And we've kept in touch since the surgery. 4) Spanker: Thanks 5) Pete: thanks!
  3. It's been almost 4 and half years since I had my transplant with Dr. Arocha. All I can say is I'm still extremely happy with the results and would not change a thing that I did. Especially considering where I started and where I am now. He is a great Dr. and I owe him the fact that I've not been self conscious about my MPB issues since the surgery! This may not be for everyone but it worked for me! Here are some pictures that I had taken a week ago.
  4. I agree with orlhair1. I had my HT with Dr. Arocha almost to date one year ago. He and his straff are REALLY nice and treated me very well. It was honestly a great experience. I think he took the time to really do his job. I spent 12 hours in that chair for about 3k grafts. I'm happy with my results too.
  5. Hey Y'all, thanks for the compliments. IMHO it now does look very natural(way diff than at month 3,4 and 5) and really good when you are not looking too close. I do agree that in month 7 it does look way better. But that is because i just got a hair cut and the stylist had shaped it and hair dried it. In the 9 month It's not gelled but it's right after I showered and put in the equate minox which makes it look gelled. I'm going to try to put in an new pic that is where the hair is just dry with no minox or any spray in it. should have that up there soon. Again thanks guys for the compliments. BrainFried
  6. It's been a while since I last posted but here is my 7 and 9 month post op. I don't have any more room acc. to the site to post here so here's my personal website journal thing! What do you guys think? My WebSite
  7. Thanks for the input guys! Very much appreciated!
  8. It's been a little over 6 months now since I've had my surgery. My hair stylist says the scar is hardly noticeable in the back of my head. I hope she's not lying. Albeit I've had it cut pretty short and no visible line. "THANK G-D"! Hair has grown in. I hope it'll continue because i gather I'm only mid-way. Any thoughts? I'm not sure how to post pix in here but my site is at the bottom.
  9. if this is true and it really works. AWESOME!!!!
  10. Thanks Dr. Charles & Lindsey, I used it for about the first 5 weeks. But stopped after the scabs fell off. From what my friends tell me it's all just redness now. Hopefully that will go away soon!
  11. I agree they don't last that long. But sometimes they become very tender. So i expel the pimple. Which in turn makes the pain go away. is that a bad idea?
  12. i guess i must be neurotic and the only one! Oh well.
  13. I was wondering...Am I the only who gets a little excited when seeing a pimple form and looks forward to seeing more? Gives me the feeling the hairs are growing and the transplants took. Or should I not feel this way?
  14. FutureHTDoc, U ain't kidding. I have mentally prepared myself for this phase. However, being prepared mentally and actually experiencing can still be painful. B4 i started propecia and did the HT i never really noticed any hairs in my hands. Just the receding hairline and the hair in the shower drain. Also could have been b/c i wasn't looking. However seeing all the hairs in my hands now each time i shower is painful. Plus i now have a developing baldspot near my crown which i didn't have b4. i hope that once this shedding phase stops that the balding spot will fill back in! Should that stop in the next month or so? I'm still only about 2.5 months in on the propecia and now 5 weeks post-op on my HT
