11282 Grafts- Dr Hasson

I am 2 weeks post op from my second ht with Dr Hasson. I reieved 3521 grafts of which 1700 were placed into my hairline and the rest to the crown.

 

My first ht with Dr Hasson was for 7761 grafts making a total of 11282 grafts.

 

I have not posted for a while on here so I have included my 1 year progress pics from my first ht.

I do have a question on your donor scar, it seems to be up high on the sides. I am sure Dr Hasson knows it is in a safe zone for you, but did it concern you? You still look like you have plenty of donor left, did you talk about what is remaining for future if ever needed? I am sure you wont need any by the looks of it!

I've followed your progress/results for a long time. Your results are nothing short of phenomenal. It looks like your hair line was lowered about 1-2cm. Any idea on the grafts per cm2?

Even only in your two week post op pic your hair looks really cool shaved down. I SERIOUSLY can NOT get over how dense your hair looks shaved down! Is that a #1 guard? Apart from the scar, if I saw that hair line and that dense hair shaved down, I would suspect you have NEVER been impacted by MPB and had not lost one hair in your life. I see so many comb overs (with long hair) on these sites that I often suspect there is no density, but seeing your pic is crazy.

 

I know most guys don't go for this (why, I don't know) but have you ever thought of FUE-ing into your scar so you can buzz it down? If I had a hair line like yours and dark hair like that I would go for it.

Your transformation is both inspirational and amazing. I can't imagine what that has done for you. Care to comment?

An absolute transformation. I think this is an exceptional example of exceeding expectations. Going from a N5 or 6 to having dense hair. All those doubting the effectiveness of HT's take notice. I think he has the grafts record, exceeding Nic Nitro's 10K or so ..

Wow London! Looks good short but you definitely need to grow it out , hide the scar and go big with all the hair ur gonna have. Almost makes me want to do some serious scalp stretching exercises and and start some # of graft record. I'm thinking I could get 18,000 if I insert one of those skin streching balloons in me head :-)

Nobuzz, The scar is 30cm's in length which is pretty long. When you have so much area to cover then I suppose a scar this length has to be expected. I have mirrored my hairloss on my fathers who is a nw6. There are no nw7's in the family and I trust Dr Hasson with his judgement. He also said I have another substantial size strip left if ever needed. Another reason he went high into the sides is that my hair is most dense in that area, approx 150 cm2.

 

Notgoing2gobald, Thanks for the kind words. To go from a nw6 to what I have now is incredible for me. I never dreamed of ever having this much hair again in my thirties, I spent most of my twenties hiding under a cap. It has changed my life and has given me the confidence to really start enjoying life to the full.

 

I do like the buzz cut, now I have the hairline to frame my face, and it would be nice to have it this way in the summer. I am going to see how the scar looks in a few months time once the shock-loss grows back and the redness and staple marks fade. The scar seems to have closed better this time around ,so I may be able to buzz to a 2 grade without it noticing.

I am going to grow it out now to hide the scar. I am fed up with wearing a cap again for the first time in ages, and to think I couldn't be seen without it back in the day.

Couple of questions:

1. Just curious the reasons for going back in after such a large first session?

 

2. Was it mainly for the crown or for both the crown and to lower the hairline?

 

3. Was this the plan all along as you had a lot of space to cover?

 

4. Were you happy after the first HT? Could you have gone without a second one?

 

Just curious as I really would like the one and done HT (I know that may not be possible), but seeing such a large first session and relatively large second session I do not think one is enough for anyone. More than anything, could you have been content enough after the first one to forego a second?

1. The reason I went for a second ht was to mainly concentrate on lowering the hairline to where I wanted it. The position of my hairline now frames my face much better and will allow me more styling options.

 

2. The hairline.

 

3. I did think before my first ht that I would need 2 procedures to get where I wanted to be.

 

4. I was ecstatic with the way my first ht turned out and could of easily settled for just the one procedure. I guess hair greed had a bit to do with it, but I am so glad that I did have this procedure done. The new hairline will be the icing on the cake.

 

If you would have shown me how my first ht would turn out beforehand, then I would say that I'd never get another ht. Once you have one done, you get hair greed and want more.

looks truly life transforming and amazing, but i am worried about how high those scars go, even after reading the explanation. If you were to head for NW7 territory you are going to be losing a bit of your hair as time goes on.

Wanthairs, I can only mirror my hairloss on family members and I don't have any nw7's in the family. My dad started losing his hair at the same age as me and was a nw 5/6 at 30 years old. His hair has stayed the same since and he's 60 now.

 

Of course it's a risk but it's a calculated one, no one really knows how bald they are going to end up, all we can do is look at our family members as a guide.

What is the most grafts that any one has ever got? Not just in one sitting but overall, anyone know?

I don't know what the absolute highest is but Dr. Hasson has at least two other patiens in the 10K range as well does Dr. Wong and I know Dr. Rassman has at least one patient in the 10K range as well.
