Bill, No, they are definitely double units. Jotronic, Actually I believe all of the hairs directly on the hairline have sprouted. The 2's I'm seeing are mostly in the temporal area hairline. Along the front they are all singles. I'll give it another month or so and when they grow back I'll send you a pic.

Bill, Right I agree. I was told that only singles were used on the hairline with my procedure which is why I am surprised there are so many doubles there.

Thanks HairToday, I would post some pics but I pulled out the one hair of most the doubles and it looked better to me. I'm only at a little over 3 months so it's not mature yet and hard to tell how well the doubles will blend in once mature.

Looks good indeed, however the hairline doesn't look typical fellerization. It looks more linear and straight. Was this by patient request or doctor recommendation for patient characteristics?

If it were possible I bet there would be no shortage of donors. Everyone on skid row would have an ear to ear scar.

Your a very young looking 62, even before the HT. You actually don't look over 50, probably younger if the beard was dark. HT looks good.

Whatever came of this? I didn't input on this thread but I was going to say I thought a Repair section would be a good addition.

hairbank, Interesting placement of the grafts. Looks like like a smart use of them. Crown work, some on the top where it was just a little thin and a little see through and some touch ups on the hairline. Can't wait to see ow this turns out, sort of like a fine tuning.

You may find a good surgeon in the LA area on your own but there's not many recommended here. I have heard good things about Dr. Siporin who is in Beverly Hills I believe. Bosley also advertises on the TV and on the surface they look wonderful, but I have heard more negatives than positives about them. Nice thing about the regurgitated list here is that there is a lot of direct feedback on the results from these surgeons patients. You can actually talk to them and follow the progress of their results. Most guys here are willing to travel to assure themselves of this kind of peace of mind.

Abby, Another member Spex wrote those tips but when he refers to *native" hair, that means hair that was growing in your scalp before the HT procedure, so yes, it is possible that you could lose some of those either permanently or temporarily. I has a little shock loss near the donor area which have come back. I believe I may have had some in the recipient area but not many. Permanent shockloss can for the most part be prevented if you have an experienced surgeon do your HT.

iamme, Guessing would really be impossible without seeing any photos, that's for sure. The cost would be determined by how many grafts you would need and which doctor you chose. The graft count estimation could vary significantly between surgeons.

Excellent point. After waiting so long for the first ones to appear, you see the first few hairs coming in and you get excited. More and more start coming in and you get used to them. You feel great about this but the next anticipation is when will all of the fine little hairs actually make a difference? So another waiting game starts. Just when you were out of the mirror, your right back in it again scrutinizing every little hairs length, thickness, and wondering where are all the other ones that should have started growing by now? When can I take this hat off? etc..

I travel quite a bit and always take a laptop. No real issues concerning traveling with laptops. You will be asked to remove it from its case as you run it through the scanner. No worries about damage from the scanner. I've done it dozens of times and never any damage. Some times, you might be asked to turn on the computer but going into Canada I doubt this will happen.

Now I can't stop looking at her .. thanks I may need another HT soon.

Their work doesn't look too bad actually and seems they are doing modern work. They also claim to be a member of the Hair Transplant Network although I don't think they are?

iamme, If you could post some pictures of your hairline you could get unofficial, but educated, guesses on just how many grafts you will likely need to fill in the area. After you get a rough guestimate from the folks here, I would suggest a consultation with a qualified HT doctor. Since your so young it may not be in your best interest to even have a transplant at this time due to where your hair loss is suspected to progress in the future when your say 30-40. This could depend on a whole host of factors including your family balding history, how much donor hair you have, your hairs quality, color, thickness etc.. I know you are probably seeing the start of your hair thinning and just want to fill it in and make it normal again but be careful at your age with hair transplant procedures. You don't want to start a process that can't be completed. By this I mean if you fill in the receding area and in the future you continue thinning behind, you will need to have more procedures to "keep up". You may not have enough donor supply or finances to do this and be worse off than when you started. Not trying to scare or discourage you but there are a lot of things that need to be considered even with older gents. You could start the ball rolling by posting a couple of pics here for us to give you a starting point of how to proceed in your particular case.

Abby, You *might* be one of the lucky ones that just keeps on growing, but don't absolutely count on it as this is rare. The fact that you say these hairs are lifeless and wispy makes me think it is a possibility, but don't be disappointed if they do in fact start to shed as Bill pointed out. That is what is most likely to happen. Are you positive these new hairs aren't your original native hairs growing? I had a procedure on the hairline and general top/frontal area and some of the ones on the very front hairline just kept on growing and are now the same length as the buzzed native hair, maybe 50 or so but all the rest started hopping out about week 2 and almost all were gone by week 3. We all shed, sprout at different timescales. .

Your post op pics look completely normal to me. I think all of us has had some residual blood scabbing in some areas afterwards for about a week or two. Yours looks very clean in fact.

I think it's a huge improvement from where you started. Congratulations. Possibly even just one more large session might give you pretty even full density.
