  1. I am 4 days post op of my surgery with dr. devroye, so i cannot tell you the result yet, however you can take a look at my picture thread under pictures posted by patients. I definitely have no regrets so far.
  2. I just made a full pre-post up thread under "Hair Restoration Results Posted by Patients" You might also want to check out guys like Azza786 and Fenderplayer, they are also young guns like ourselves!
  3. Still, dr. devroye did a good job of covering behind the areas, so that in case of future recession loss will not look unnatural. That being said, i should probably expect a 3rd procedure in 5-10 years, which i am saving for. I feel great by the way - minimal agony in the donor area and i have no swelling at all. It is much easier sleeping than it was on my first op..
  4. Thx Bill, and sorry for the blur - it seems that 5 mega pixels is overrated :-P
  5. Hello everyone. The full story: I started losing my hair shortly before turning 18, and i felt really weird/alien about it. Tried different meds, with little result. I was thinning all over, although my front was much weaker than my crown. Thus i went on meds again (propecia and rogaine for the crown) and i received a 1600 transplant for the front last november by a danish clinic. The results were okayish, but there was no doubt that i would need a much larger subsequent procedure, and i finally decided upon dr. devroye of belgium. The dr. and his staff was very likeable and i knew that i had made a good choice right away. The plan was to lower and densify both hairline, temple and sideburn area as well as densifying the front and the middle. Nothing was planted in the crown area, due to lack of grafts but also because the meds have helped tremendously and i think that within 6 months i have gotten full visual density back. pre any meds and ht front: Crown after my first ht and 11 months on regaine/propecia Front: top: crown: Side: 3 days post 2nd operation: Front/top Sides Scar total: 43xx grafts and 10k hairs feel free to make comments and so forth.
  6. Hello fellow youngster. Welcome to the site. You will definitely be in great hands of dr. feller, just take a look at thanopsis_awry's results and he is your age (as am i!) 3500 is alot of grafts, i've received 4300 in 2 sessions myself - got any pics?
  7. Hey fellas.. i'm just 3 days post op of my 2nd. ht, going with dr. devroye for 2764 grafts and 59xx hairs. The immidiate result looks extremely promising and i have absolutely no regrets of doing it. The dr. and his staff was really friendly the main goal was to fill in some of the tempel/sideburn area, lowering the hairline slightly and increase density on the frontal 1/2. I will post some post op pics soon.
  8. Hey man, long time no chat. If i were you, i would try not to panic about it and give it another few months of comparing and evaluating. Am i understanding this right? That the area BEHIND the donor area feels like its thinning, or is it the donor area itself? Either way, you did receive a high density on your frontal 1/3 so naturally, at some point, a minor procedure to cover up any hair lost behind this line will be inevitable. Hard to say when to get it done - only you can tell when it botheres you beyond the point where you are satisfied.
  9. I simply have to reply to this one.. the best ways to lose weight: 1) Exercise 2) Diet The best approach is to combine weighttraining and cardio. Do not use high reps, your body needs a reason to keep its muscle, and the best way to do so is to challenge the muscle. Anything between 3-12 reps is fine given the right program. Also, exercise should not be 2 hour marathons, instead high intensity cardio of 5-15 minutes is preferred. In response to diet: Eat lots of animal protein, restrict your carbs and only eat slow carbs (dark bread, vegetables (especially the green ones)) etc, and dont forget to eat non-saturated fat (fish, oil, nuts etc) because the body will not drop what it doesnt receive under extended periods of time. Eat 5-6 times small meals daily, and that includes eating before sleeping. Remember, your body needs a slow steady flow of nutrients, and most people sleep 8 hours. If the meal is good, It will not layer as fat, because you are working out and as such it will help you preserve energy and muscle. By the way i have dropped down from 220 lbs to 180 lbs in a year using this method without losing that much muscle - i still bench 250 lbs, thats a 20 lb drop.
  10. Lets share then.. 22 yo, started losing at 17 RAPIDLY, had a 1600 graft transplant last year, medium results needed much more, now going for 2nd in less than 14 days! Meanwhile i was on both propecia and rogaine which definitely has improved my crown vastly, but the frontal 3rd remains thin. I am hoping for 2.5k grafts or more with dr. devroye.
  11. Mine took around 3 months, so yeah, it will come back to you..
  12. Oh it is you. Glad to hear that there were no issues with working out. Been paying alot of attention to your procedure in particular, due to the fact that you had your sideburns fixed as well, something you don't see that often. Do you have any idea how many grafts were spend on doing this?
  13. Hello and welcome to the site. Since you are european, you should try to consider consulting with Dr. Devroye or Dr. Feriduni both of Belgium.
  14. I'm not too convinced. Some of them don't look all that natural. But perhaps this is only to the trained eye,
  15. While i am no expert, i believe that 2k grafts on the front and propecia/regaine for the crown should give some very nice results.
  16. "So, I decided to do something about it. At about 23 I decided to start lifting weights and eating healthy for some confidence building. It worked for about a couple of years until when I would look in the gym mirrors all I would see were the signs of genetics taking hold of my roots and literally strangling the life out of them (Why do so many gyms have to have so many mirrors????!!). After many years of looking down on myself I was finally starting to have a positive self-image, then fate/God/who/whatever decided that I couldn't have confidence. Go figure." I know exactly what you mean. I started balding at 17 shortly after i started lifting for the same reasons as yourself. I'm 190 lbs with almost with a sixpack (still got 10-15 pounds to lose) but believe me i would gladly remove 20 pound of muscle to have my head of hair back. After all, muscle just takes effort, hairloss is much harder to regain. I guess you just cant have it all. sigh.
  17. Hey man - best of luck with your 2nd ht - i too am having my 2nd ht shortly, 1?? months, this time with Dr. Devroye of belgium, for what i hope can be 3k grafts, for a total of 4.5k.
  18. from a personal experience, yes, i can definitely feel a decrement in both volume and quality
  19. The first picture is extremely blurred and it is impossible to tell what it is! The second does not give me any picture at all..
  20. You gotta be kidding me. This has got to be THE best result ever posted on this site. Do you have any post-op pictures? Im especially interested in seeing how your temple area was planted. How old are you?
  21. I must admit, i thought i was in bad shape. Such extensive hairloss at your age must have been detrimental. know that you are not the only young one here having had a HT, both me and Thanopsy_awry had one at 21 (though i am the only one scheduled for a 2nd as far as i know) but i am only a NW2.5 Never the less, best of luck in the future. Are you going to wait a while to see if there is any further shedding, or are you scheduling for a second one?
  22. Your reply helped me a great deal, especially considering you are performing this yourself.
  23. Thanks. Although it sounds like good news, can you elaborate on that?
  24. Just wondering as i havent been able to find the answer somewhere: When you have a second HT, do you receive multiple scars or do the doctor "overlap" the old one, removing it entirely along with the strip?
