  1. This local patient to Vancouver who is in his mid to late 30's came to us wanting to make a significant cosmetic impact with as many grafts as possible. He understood the need for density up front and coverage over as much area as possible. The goal was to start with rebuilding the hairline and frontal zone working back as far as possible. If achievable, light coverage in the crown was the goal. Going into this surgery he knew the possibility would exist for a smaller 2nd procedure to address the crown to a greater extent if desired. This one session using 5300 follicular units Dr Hasson was able to achieve the cosmetic impact the patient was looking for and at the same time allowed for some light crown coverage to take away the bald look. These photos represent 8 months post op from his surgery. Needless to say the patient is very happy. The patient now has the option to add further density into the crown with a second procedure of around 2-2500 grafts if he wishes to. The patient is using Proscar. Here is the graft breakdown 1471 - single hair grafts 3426 - double hair grafts 403 - 3-4 hair grafts
  2. I will be again holding my regular free consultations in Central London at the Thistle Hotel in Marble Arch on Saturday September 6th. I will be able to explain our procedure in detail, answer any questions you have regarding surgery, show you what a transplant can look like on a Norwood 6 and take clear photos for a recommendation from either Dr Hasson or Dr Wong. If you would like to meet with me in person or for more information please email me on ukconsultant@hassonandwong.com or call 0757 8164162. David

  4. Congratulations on your recent second surgery with Dr Hasson really pleased to hear everything went well. It would be great if you can keep the forum updated with your progress and some pics would be great to see.
  5. Thanks for your comments guys. Here's the graft breakdown. Post op photo and a video we made of the still shots for those who like moving images more. Graft Breakdown singles 893 Double 2022 3-4 hairs 133
  6. Thanks very much guys for your comments. Moving forward with these results I am hoping to be able to supply as much information on the patient as possible including graft breakdown, history of meds and ideally an immediate post op placement photo. It can't be the case on some of the immediate post op photos as in some cases by the end of the day they are just not taken. The patient is on Proscar and his graft breakdown is as follows. 1174 - single hair 2594 - doubles 237 - 3-4 hair
  7. From what you are describing it is not a ingrowing hair it is probably just the back of your head and perhaps the scar line is a little sunken which happens and above that feels raised as a result. Things have been pulled and moved about back there so will take a little time to settle down and for the skin to relax into its normal place. It doesn't sound anything to worry about and I remember having similar feelings after surgery.
  8. Phantom, I would like to help but I am not sure what it is that is the problem but the area around the top of the scar can be swollen for a while and feel raised as a result it is difficult to say as everything is pretty much numb back there for you. You should contact the clinic if you are concerned and there is a lump but it sounds like swelling from the procedure.
  9. This patient in his 30's from Italy received 3048 grafts in one session to lower his hairline and add much greater density into his frontal zone. This result is 16 months post-op.
  10. Absolutely peoples heads vary greatly in size and a small head will need less grafts which is just as well as you will have less grafts available based on a average donor but overall good news as less grafts means less cost!
  11. Joe Tillman/Jotronic, On a personal and business level I will be very sorry to see you leave your results and personal journey were part of my decision to come to have surgery at Hasson & Wong. That decision changed my life for the better and for that I am very grateful. You were instrumental in bringing me on board to the H&W team nearly 5 years ago and have been a great mentor and friend ever since. I wish you all the best in your new position at the Rahal clinic and I know that you will represent the clinic with the same passion and professional manner that you have done for the last 10 years.
  12. Due to the high demand to see Dr Wong in London we have added a third day of consults which will be Tuesday August 5th. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone considering surgery now or in the future to meet with Dr Wong and myself. The consultations will take place in Central London at the Thistle Hotel in Marble Arch. This extra day will no doubt be filled fast as demand is very high and and appointments are strictly by appointment. Past and current patients of Dr Wong are welcome to attend. If you would like to meet Dr Wong please contact me asap on ukconsultant@hassonandwong.com or call 0757 8164162 for more information.
  13. Pepe, I went to Norton in 1996/7 all you could do back then was trust in the Doctor and the rep it was impossible to know about unhappy patients as there was no platform like this forum for people to voice their concerns. Looking back I was totally naive and had no idea of what to expect. Yes I made peace with my hair after my repair in 2006 and my recent surgery has got me to where I want to be.
  14. Congratulations Rambler on your recent surgery with Dr Konior all looks great and I look forward to following your progress. Thanks for the nice words about me I was happy to help with your research. Interesting what you said about the customs as is the case no-one is looking at your hair and what it looks like but this remains a big concern for patients. Glad you are home now, as for aloe vera and vitamin e oil I would drop Dr Koniors office a line as each clinic has different advice in respect to this some say 1 week others 10 days and some two weeks.
  15. Ridge, Its a tough time and all us high norwoods have been there. The best you can do is take the sides and back as short as you can depending on the scar. You should follow your docs advice and get the scabs off, each clinic has different instructions for this. Ask your clinic about vitamin e oil to help loosen the scabs or aloe vera gel to take away some of the redness from the hairline. A little foundation make up can work wonders in covering the redness. I am confused by your photos as it looks like all the grafts were placed in the front not the crown as you said. This should be the case as they are best served up front. Good luck with your return to work.
  16. Potentially yes you could provided you can find a Doctor that is satisfied that you are stable and not going to be heading for a high Norwood pattern. I don't see massive temple recession I see that as a normal shape hairline for an adult male but we all see ourselves differently. I do however see thinning through the frontal hairline and temples if you can be stable for a year and you are not looking to lower the hairline just thicken it may be appropriate after examining your scalp and donor hair.I see no harm in consulting the clinics you are interested in at this stage for opinions.
  17. Thanks Chris, I thought it looked pretty awesome too and showed what a great way to document your results with consistent photos in the same room, same lighting and angles etc. I can also assess the correct length that my beard should be
  18. From one repair patient to another who also went to Norton (twice in my case) I wish you the best with this latest session. As others have commented the improvement from the first session into the scars at 4 months looks very promising. I really hope you get your goal of being able to wear your hair short to 1cm as I can understand what that will mean to you. Please do keep the forum posted on your case as it is very interesting and I am sure inspiring to others in similar situations.
  19. Tony, You look to be on track, I think you may be searching too hard for things I would relax and take monthly photos and try not to be looking in the mirror all the time. The whole process is painfully slow and changes that occur will not be noticed if you are looking several times a day. I know it is hard but Dr Bisanga is a top surgeon and the result will match. Some patients experience early growth like you have done and then the differences can be slower after that. Consistent monthly photos from the same angles and lighting is the best way assess the changes, Thanks for keeping the forum posted.
  20. Voxman, I like your sense of humour in your posts. Hair looks good for 5 months and it will improve over the coming months too. I am looking forward to this long flowing hair that you have been talking about for the 12 month update.
  21. Congrats on your upcoming surgery I have seen several of Dr Bisanga's patients in person and the work was excellent I have no doubt you are in good hands. Please keep us all posted.
  22. I have had several comments about how helpful it is to see photos month by month from the same angle next to each other so it is easy to compare the progress month on month so I made these 3 photos so it would be even easier to compare. It demonstrates how taking consistent photos under the same lighting, same room and conditions is the best way to clearly document your progress.
  23. Better late than never here is my 9 month photos from my latest hair transplant with Dr Hasson for 1755 grafts to the frontal half of my scalp. The difference is clear to myself as I look in the mirror and I am very glad that I took Dr Hasson's advice to deal with the front rather than the crown. In terms of healing my scalp after five FUT sessions feels normal again and I am still able to cut my hair to a reasonable length. I could never go down to a grade 3 or 4 because of my previous scars but I am happy with the length I can wear it at the back and sides. There still remains a sweet spot in terms of length of the top and it seems better to wear it shorter than I used to as the density is better at the front I don't need the length to make it look fuller. Also where the crown is thinner it is easier to keep it shorter and it lays flatter on my scalp.
  24. And to ridge, If you are going to get on the medication start sooner rather than later. I actually waited a couple of months after my surgery to get on it and had no problem with shedding or slow growth as a result.
  25. fue2014, Absolutely we only advise the branded Propecia or Proscar. I personally have dabbled with generics in the past and wasn't happy with the results I felt different and I think I lost some ground hair wise. I have been suggesting to many guys that they ditch the generic and go onto branded for the last couple of years now. I have had good feedback from a number of patients now on branded that tried generic in the past but quit due to sides that they are not reporting any issues and their hair is improving. Dr Ashcroft will supply branded Proscar which is the most cost effective way to get the medication and then cut into quarters.
