  1. Yeah overall I think my hair is on the way to improving from where it was 12 months ago. The thing that seems to be slowing my progress at the moment is my concurrent use of dexedrine for ADHD. It makes me shed like crazy. I know it's not really MPB related loss, but I have been using dex relatively consistently for the past 14 months and my hair has definitely been dried out by it.
  2. Sorry I don't have any pictures. Am I right in thinking the best of fin is yet to come since I have only just stopped shedding?
  3. Background Alright so I'm 23, 24 in a few months. Strong MPB on mothers side, moderate MPB on fathers side. I started noticing my hairline was receding and thinning out just before I turned 22, although looking back my hairline had probably already receded. Finasteride Experience I don't know if I went through as massive shed or what, but my hairline and temples continued to recede and thin since I have started Finasteride. My hairline was probably a thinning NW 2 and now its a NW 2 with thinning in a NW 3 pattern. Although I think I'm experiencing a regrowth of sorts over the past couple of months. The thinning region behind the corners of my hairline shows less scalp and hair on top of my head seems thicker. About 1.5 years ago I could pull my hair back and get away with it, not anymore. My hairline has about half an inch on thin, still pigmented, wispy hairs. If these thickened up to normal I would be extremely happy. That's why I'm thinking of adding in Dutasteride 2 days per week. See If I can resurrect theses hairs before they die off. I was using Nizoral shampoo but god it made my hair dry and wispy. Not using minoxidil because I don't want the risk of pre-mature wrinkles. Side Effects Libido is a little lower, abdominal fat a bit more stubborn, eyelashes are thicker, less body hair, testicles have shrunk. Nothing that is overly concerning, just annoying. Conclusion I'm reasonably happy with what fin has given me so far, general maintenance. Shedding has pretty much stopped within the last month. Maybe the best is yet to come, especially given I haven't even been on fin for 18+ months. If only my hairline responded like the rest of my hair I would be very pleased.
  4. Update Alright fin does appear to be working. It's not what I expected though. Pretty much my hairline has receded a fair bit at the temples. It seems all my hair count looks like it's increased, or at least all the white, dying hairs have returned to a healthier state. However the weird thing is my hair quality all over had declined. Hair all over is drier and thinner than pre finasteride. Given this, coupled with my fatigue symptoms, I believe I may have hypothyroidism, or at least subclinical hypothyroidism. Got blood tests done a few days ago, will update with results. It appears hairloss can be both a side effect of hypothyroidism and the medication they use to treat it. So I'll have to wait and see at this stage. MPB is probably confounded by thyroid problems, so I need this taken care of
  5. I'm 23, starting noticing my hair was thinning around the hairline 2 years ago. I read a lot on line, not just forums but peer-reviewed articles, since my interest is in medicine, in which I hope to pursue a career. So I was well educated about fin, how it works, it's side effects, efficacy, etc. 7 months after starting my hair is in terrible shape. My hairline before starting treatment Could still be moved around easily, without the hair loss being evident. So now? My hairline has receded I would say nearly awhile norwood point, in a thinning patter, additionally, my hair rises here has thinned to an unmanageable consistency. Side effects? Now if anyone tries to say that these are psychological you are ignorant. I'm very cognisant of my psychological and physical state and have been for years. I'm an abide user of nootropics and know what subtle to extreme changes in cognition feel like, So far my side effects have been; puffy nipples. Loss of maximal strength (gym), tendency toward abdominal fat gain, slowed/disconnected cognition, loss of motivation, easy to fatigue, watery semen, decreased erection quality, decreased libido. I just hope this crap is worth the wait. I'll be switching to RU next year.
  6. Here is a pic of my hairline. As you can see my temples and hairline have thinned and receded significantly. Fin hasn't helped this yet at all. I doubt anything would lower my hairline except a HT
  7. Thanks for the replies. Na I don't have any pics sorry. 90% of my problem is my hairline and temples. Makes me look like my forehead has grown significantly. I just wish I had of got on fin when I very first noticed my loss. Maybe I would have saved my NW1 hairline.
  8. Hello Guys I'm currently 23 with a NW 2 pattern hairloss, with frontal thinning. About 2 years ago I started noticing hairloss at my hairline, which worsened significantly after I (stupidly) did a steroid cycle. I have been on Finasteride for 8 months and had a terrible shed that has hit my hairline significantly. I think my shedding is slowing down and my hair is thickening up everywhere except my hairline. The damage has already been done there. What I'm thinking is if fin stabilises my hair loss and even improves it over the next 6 months, could I reasonably consider a conservative FUE to restore my hairline to a solid NW 2. Instead of a thin NW 2? I'm thinking from my looking at other HT it could be done with 1500 grafts Opinions?
  9. Same ranges from same lab on both tests. Only tested once, before and during finasteride. Same time both tests. In the morning. Not sure on the conditions. Consistently on 1.25mg. Scripted from a local pharmacy so it's legit
  10. I saw that study but the dose of arimidex was the same as finasteride. That would be like me having 1mg of arimidex per day.
  11. Hey guys I had my DHT measure 7 months ago before star ting finasteride. It measure at 2.8 with a range of 0.7-3.1. I then started finasteride at 1.25mg and also have been taking arimidex 0.25mg twice a week. After 6 months on finasteride my DHT was still at 2.3. So it has only dropped ~ 20% Should dropping the estrogen blocker/aromataze inhibitor fix this?
  12. I have been on fin for 5 months at 1.25mg per day and my hair has gotten significantly worse. I was a NW2 diffuse pattern before treatment and a NW3+ diffuse pattern now. Is this amount of shedding to be expected? I'm quite distressed but am committed to stick it out for at least 1 year Thank you
  13. Hey guys I have been on fin 1.25mg per day for about 5 months and I'm still shedding. I gave been using a low dose of arimidex (0.25mg-0.5mg a week) because I had high estrogen before treatment. Just wondering if anyone gas any experience with an AI while on fin or dut to control sides and still got good results? I'm aware there was a study that showed the concurrent use of both I'm dogs increased DHT however the dose was equal to that of fin. So it would be like if I was taking 1.25mg a day of arimidex which would be extremely high Thanks
