  1. Most top docs strategize with the patient so that is not an issue. A top doc should be able to give a patient a standalone procedure, meaning that if you were to lose the rest of your hair the ht would look ok. But to your point, most of us go in knowing that at some point we will need to go back in the chair again.
  2. Looking good LL. You have come a long ways, but the comparison shots do show improvement. Like me, I am glad to hear you are enjoying the summer months...especially with more hair!!
  3. I need to make a conserted (sp?) effort to be on the site on a regular basis. Everyone here gave me so much and it is my turn. Look forward to updating everyone!! And I will begin frequenting the site more often.
  4. The hairs may not have grown back around the scar possibly due to shock. And the width of your scar could be due to the way your body heals. There are a number of factors that could have caused the wider scar. In my case the hair grew back through the scar but darker than the surrounding hair . If I keep my hair a tad longer in back it blends or if I get my hair cut by a good stylist, the way they cut it helps.
  5. Most docs will give some kind of accomodation for filling in a last minute cancellation spot. Call the offices and inquire and I am sure they would be willing to help.
  6. H&W do not do FUE, I do not believe. I have not been around for several months, but they do awesome strip work. Shapiro does do FUE and I think he may be up to a little over 1000 per session. If you are looking for a larger session such as 3000+, you should possibly contemplate strip. Not knowing much about your level of hair loss it is hard to really say what you need, but 3000 is a very good sized session.
  7. At two months, you are in the resting phase. A little sun won't hurt, but don't overdo it. An area, like your scalp, already healing from trauma does not need additional trauma from a sunburn. Wait until the hair begins to grow. Well, at least that is what I did...
  8. 1-year mark next week. The doo is great. Fun having a full head of hair. Will update you all soon. But have had a lot of fun in the sun and the different hairstyles. One difference now is that I actually look in the mirror after showers and have to spend a little time (i.e. 30-seconds) styling. The stylist taught me a lot in one session!!
  9. At three months my redness had faded significantly. I used aloe vera liberally and mixed in vitamin e from time to time as it was winter and dry. Once the hairs really began to grow, the redness went away. You can always use the excuse, if someone asks, that you got a little too much sun...
  10. you guys spent the money to get the hair, so like glenn said take some time off. I too am into running, swimming, lifting, etc....I took six weeks off and then slowly got back into it. Let your scalp heal. Chlorine in the pool early on may not be such a good thing so don't take the chance. I swim now and it has zero negative effects. Also, your body will thank you for taking the time off (trust me, I am OCD about physical activity too and didn't think I could do it).
  11. BT- Thanks for the update. Have fun with the pimple stage...I thought that would never end, but that is just a sign of things to come. Get ready to see some real changes in the next couple of months!
  12. You are coming along nicely bullit!! Many more months of growth for you. I am excited by the positive changes I see from the pics.
  13. He has a secret hair tonic and magic beans!! Seriously though, some possibilities: his technique, physiology--like stated earlier, and his post-op instructions. Eating well and having a healthy lifestyle sure helped me!
  14. Everyone is different and personal pain levels can be attributed to things including session size, physiology, type of procedure, doctor and probably some other things. Personally, I had some pain the first night, but the second day and on had no pain and did not have to take any additional medication. I was also lucky and did not have any swelling.
  15. You are going to begin a fun ride...and ultimately enjoy the fruits of Dr. F's labor. How many grafts?
  16. Like bill said, subtle changes that are looking good. You need to tell us how you feel!! But I like the look!
  17. i dont think most of us will be worrying about our hairlines at that age. I have thought about old age or cancer and the scar coming out in the light--but again if I had cancer, the scar would probably be the last thing I would worry about. Making a decision like this is similar (not the same) as many other big life decisions--sometimes you just need to make them and move forward. You can worry about what is going to happen in the future (and not truly live life) or enjoy life today...
  18. Here is a pic of the hat I wore...after two full weeks of nothing touching my head. I loved this hat and I will not burn it, like everyone else says they will do with theirs
  19. Transplanted hair, well at least mine, went from very course and a different color (as my hair in the donor area is darker than my top naturally) to beginning to soften up. At ten months my hair is thick and full and still a bit course and wirey, but getting better with time.
  20. I went through a shedding period for the time frame you mentioned. Different zones shed at different times for me, but some held on and never shed. Some of my singles held on longer, but most in my hairline disappeared first. And I was balder for the doldrums than I was before...
  21. I need to update you guys with pics, but if you take a look at my seven month thread: http://hair-restoration-info.c...66060861/m/196102142 You can see I have it combed forward. I actually have the option to spike it, comb it back (my forehead is still HUGE, so I don't like that), or combed forward. Hope this helps!
  22. Look at the top left hand corner of this screen and click on the FIND A PRESCREENED SURGEON. Then listen to what Jessica has to say...do your research and do not let your location dictate where you go!
