  1. Kansas, Welcome to the forum.. The best advice I can give as far as a doctor would be... to read the forums. Look under Experiences, look at the photos, read read read. this should help arm you with some information and insight in to which doctors are preferred . Cas
  2. Nizoral is not a daily shampoo though. The directions say it should be used every 3-4 days for up to 8 weeks or as drected by a doctor. Then use only as needed to control dandruff...
  3. # of grafts, photos, etc? welcome to the REAL hair club!
  4. Here is another article on Italy's leaders HT. Berlusconi happy about new hair Italy's Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi says he feels 25 years younger after having a hair transplant. Berlusconi plans to lead the centre-right into the 2006 elections The Italian media had been speculating about his hair since August, when he appeared in a pirate-style bandana. Recommending cosmetic surgery, Mr Berlusconi, 68, said his implanted hair had been growing marvellously. "I am very happy to have subjected myself to such pain," he told reporters. A year ago he also had cosmetic surgery around his eyes. "I think this should be regarded as an example ... I now feel 40-42 years old in all aspects of my life," said the billionaire leader, who was recently cleared of serious corruption allegations. 'Showing people respect' In August, he surprised reporters by wearing a white pirate-style bandana on a stroll with UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, whom he hosted at his villa in Sardinia. Berlusconi kept Italy guessing when he sported a white bandana Mr Berlusconi on Thursday extolled the virtues of cosmetic surgery. "It is a way of showing respect to those who share your life, your family. It is a way of showing respect to those who expect you to represent them on an international and national stage," he told reporters. Mr Berlusconi had cosmetic surgery around his eyes during the Christmas holidays last year. He confirmed it a month later. He also disappeared from public view several times during 2004, emerging afterwards with a new look.
  5. thanks for the advice guys. I dont recall the doc telling me that, but I'll try the compress, Bactarin. I feel another coming on as we speak.
  6. damn, made it seem like you were going off to war! good luck.
  7. i am popping more zits on the top of my head after the HT--- than I did when I was growing facial hair. i feel sorry for the mirror.

  9. if that small area is the only area that got transplants, i can only guess from that view between 800-1000
  10. spoon, you are right. I was thinking the donor area. Got the words confused. LET ME TELL ALL OF YOU THIS. GETTING YOUR RECIPIENT AREA SHAVED SUCKS!!!!!!!! especially when your hair is on the way out anyway , it takes so long to grow back. I am 2 months post op and it is just now coming back and getting thicker. its been a very wierd 2 months.
  11. 2000. no more piddily 300 sessions. I did that with my first. That does nothing for aestetics.
  12. all i can say about buzzing the recipient area is that thats the area thats going to be cut out anyways. then sewn up. so when all is said and done, there will not be a buzzed area in the back. just a suture line that you will have regardless. good luck!
  13. HBT, sorry, man. Didnt want to ruffle any feathers. I was just asking a rhetorical question. I personally am happy for you and your growth. i know what its like to be a bald young man and go through a surgery to repair it. Cas
  14. Funny Pat said this. Didnt HBT win the contest , from a doctor reccomended on this site? I guess we shouldnt use that doctor.
  15. Exactly the conundrum that most of us find ourselves in. At 26 with my level of aggressive thinning I have planned for this same scenario. No, I don't and won't have a "wall of hair" up front, but I do have a hair line. The crown, I am still leaving in the "hands" of Avodart and Minoxidil. Hair loss sufferers must have a sensible plan to abide by. Luckily, it is easier these days than before. It is by no means PERFECTED, but with a skilled hair restoration physician to help guide a patient, the donor hair can be used wisely enough so that the most possible coverage can be achieved sensibly. -Robert SD, you should post some pics with your hair combed back. I think all weve seen are pics with your hair combed forward. Thoughts?
  16. That's pushing it just a little bit, Cas. A #1 is really, really short. I get my hair cut to a #2 and my scar can be seen in the right light after that for a couple of days. It all depends on your remaining donor area hair, your healing characteristics, and naturally, the skills of your physician. -Robert okok maybe a 2 then. personally i cant go even there cause I got patches from the first ht. perhaps i need to get some fue. thinking about it at some point
  17. i would suggest not using nizoral. i have a bottle and right before my HT my doc told me the stuff doesnt really work, and it really really dries out your hair. i would recommend trying a new hair style, maybe a buzz (if you have a good shaped head). the meds you are using should be enough, but i would stop the zinc. there is no proof that stuff stops hair loss.
  18. let me just add that i know what you are saying... take a look at my pics from my surgery ..im stressin out too --no hair up top and using toppik to conceal. it looks like shit but im am holding out hope it will start growing back soon, although i know it will, eventually
  19. I have been thinking about the "appearance of density" and i have come to the conclusion that I would love that. right now i have the appearance of my bare scalp, and since this an aestetic (eye pleasing) surgery anyway, then I figure thats all good. Cas
  20. lones, the scar sucks but if you go to a good surgeon it wont be bad - in fact with a good surgeon you can wear your hair after getting it trimmed with a 1 guard and it wont be noticeable. there always is FUE also.
  21. didn't you get a HT from this forum? Are you still wearing a hairpiece?
  22. Congrats Ken, It will be interesting following your story. I just had an HT about 6 weeks ago also, so I know what you are going through.
