  1. Shapiro Medical Group is proud to present a result from Dr. Josephitis and team. This is a 6 Months FUE result utilizing 2844 grafts in one session. Dr. Jean DeVroye's WAW FUE device was used for extraction.
  2. Dr. Paul Shapiro addressed a NW3 with 3097 grafts to restore hair to the frontal 1/2 (appoximately 100cm2 area)
  3. Thank you Bullitnut for your kind words. Both procedures have a place in hair restoration. How are you doing now?
  4. Here is Dr David Josephitis's 1 year result of a happy patient who had 3130 grafts to address his Norwood class V hair loss.
  5. Patients currently have a choice between either FUT or FUE for their hair transplant surgery. Both are excellent techniques and at SMG we currently do about ? FUE and ? FUT. By far, main reason most patient chose FUE is their fear of the linear scar associated with FUT. While it is true that there is a risk of a linear scar that could be clinically significant….. most of the time the scar is very difficult to find at hair lengths greater than 1 cm. It is important for patients to have a true perspective or the relative risks of both procedures with respect to donor scarring, recipient growth, etc.….in order to make informed decisions. Below is an example of a FUT strip scar that healed very well, making it hard to find. At Shapiro Medical the majority of our donor closures heal similar to this result.
  6. Dr. Paul Shapiro was able to restore this patient`s natural, youthful hairline with grafts strategically placed to meet this patient's goals. Taking 1236 grafts leaves plenty in the donor bank to address future hair loss. For more videos please subscribe to our Youtube Channel To arrange a free no obligation consultation SMG consultation
  7. Its important to have a soft natural hairline on female patients. Shapiro Medical consistently produces the most natural look for our patients. Please visit our Website or subscribe to our YouTube Channel to view more results.
  8. Look into Dr Arthur Tykicinsky and Dr. Tony Ruston. :)
  9. If you have 3 of the 3 factors, I really can't see why you wouldn't end up with a fine line. When looking for the strip scars during post op follow ups, it's getting harder and harder to find them.
  10. Have you discussed all your concerns and fears with the clinic/doctor yet? It sounds like you need more information on the anesthetic process. It'll be better for the clinic and you if they know about your fears well ahead of your procedure date.
  11. An excellent result at 7 month’s post op from Dr. Josephitis of Shapiro Medical Group. Few challenging factors to overcome with less than average density and fine caliber hairs on a young NW5 patient. We consider 2892gr Strip/FUT hair transplant on this patient to be a success! http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm182/janna0001/DrDavidJosephitis/081916KM/Slide10.jpg[/img
  12. Brilliant treatment and result! Implementing Finasteride seems to have helped in the overall density too.
  13. Most patients and doctors tend to opt for just one scar. The size of the second strip and how many grafts you attain are based on number of factors. The main factors are your donor density, the size of your previous scar and the laxity you have in the donor area. You want good laxity so that there isn't any tension during donor closure. What 1 ht doctor tells you may not be the same as the next ht doctor so it's good to get 3 or 4 opinions. Hard to say if that 1 ht doctor is correct as he's giving you his opinion based on his experience. The figures sound reasonable.
  14. Congrats Dr. Joe! Your passion for producing great results, attention to detail and hard work ethics fit right in with rest of the Shapiro doctors at SMG. It's as if you were one of the their brothers. Miss working with you and everyone at SMG! Looking forward to seeing you all next week.
  15. Sometimes, it's difficult to get a "spot on" results on diffused thinners. *There's a concern that the thinning will be ongoing that you can't see the added density from the surgical procedure. Here's a patient who feels his result with Dr. Paul Shapiro is exactly what he wanted with definite noticeable added density. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm182/janna0001/DrPaulShapiro/S06202016B/Slide8.j
  16. Hello all, Here is a result of Dr. Paul Shapiro & team who we may consider it to be "minor work" but for the patient it's considered a major change in framing her face.
  17. Hello all, I'm pleased to present a result of a happy Shapiro Medical patient even though he isn't a good HT candidate. Patient's goal for a conservative hairline and leaving the crown alone, Dr. Joe is meeting patient's goals and expectations in 2-3 procedures. This patient's second surgery is coming up soon.
  18. Hi Wcbm8d, Thank you so much for documenting your progress. Your progress is coming along very nicely. Remember that the hairs will continue to thicken up to 14-15 months after surgery. We really do appreciate you posting. Please feel free to get in touch anytime with questions.
  19. Hi Beebz, If you do have some scabs left, massage the recipient area when you shampoo to get the remaining scabs off. Light, gentle massage to the scalp is fine when you're sitting at your desk for the itchiness but don't pick at the scabs. You won't harm the follicles if you did pick but it's more for the condition of your scalp not due to danger of your grafts. The skin may get patchy (red and white) spots if you picked at the scabs. Best wishes on your results. We're working on your pictures to post.
  20. Hello All, Here is another result similar to the result posted last week from Shapiro Medical where primarily the crown was addressed. In this FUT (strip) result, Dr. Paul Shapiro not only addresses the crown but fills in the hairline to make a nice impact.
  21. QUOTE by Orangehair - "This case study is a wonderful comparison between the current methodologies of hair transplantation - FUE vs FUT." Really great study of the 2 techniques you offer at T&D. It's very similar to the study Dr Joe is doing at Shapiro Medical only the two different techniques are done on one patient with half the head with FUT and the other with FUE. I think the results on each side will be pretty much the same like the result of Kyle and Tristan. Of course it helps when you have skilled physicians performing each technique. Thanks for sharing your study.
  22. This patient has been on Finasteride for quite a few years to slow the hair loss progression before his surgery at Shapiro Medical. Nothing else was going to give this kind of transformation to the crown like a HT. We can safely say the improvement is all surgery with no added benefit from hair loss prevention meds. Thanks both for looking and for your kind remarks.
  23. Hello, Shapiro Medical presents a result of a strip (FUT) surgery 24 months after by Dr. Ron Shapiro. The patient had 2443 grafts spread throughout the crown area with bigger grafts going to the central top portion of the crown. Apologies for the difference in lighting for the before and after pics. Effort is always made to get consistent lighting every time but sometimes it comes out slightly lighter or darker.
