  1. I agree that in order to give a better feedback, you should post pictures of your hairline. The more clear the pics the better.
  2. Thanks Fortune for updating your progress. It looks like you're able to notice some growth. I'm sure the next 6-8 months will bring noticeable more. Thanks again!
  3. Looking good Sunny. Thanks a lot for keeping a consistent progress update.
  4. Thanks Johnboy and Pete. Thanks Pete for the catch. I'll get it corrected right away.
  5. I agree that this patient could have benefitted by addressing his temple points, however, it wasn't what he wanted addressed. Many patients come to SMG stating exactly what they'd like. For example, he also wanted the hairline to be on the conservative side. We don't do everything the patient requests if it's unrealistic or unreasonable but being conservative is something we can do. We know the patients then have the option in the future to address their temple points, add density or bring their hairline down if so desired. For now, this patient is very happy with his results. Thanks all for your comments.
  6. While the transformation will be the greatest in the first 7 months, thickening will occur until you're past the 14th month. The change in the next 5-6 months will be more subtle, definitely, but you should get a little more. That's great that you don't have to carry all the styling and hair loss prevention meds with you whenever you travel now. We're happy for you!
  7. Yes, he's been on Finasteride for years. This patient is very happy with his results. It's great to see such transformations. Thanks for your comments and feedback.
  8. Can you post some pictures of before, right after surgery and what you look like now? It's difficult to give any advice or make comments without seeing what you looked like pre-op and what you look like now.
  9. Thanks for updating. It's certainly nice to hear you're happy with your progress.
  10. This would depend much on the size of your current scar and how much donor you need to thicken the frontal area you want addressed. Remember that the size of the donor strip+scar can only be a certain width or else there is great risk of the scar stretching. There are different approaches to achieving your goals and I'd consider you a repair case. Sometimes the repair cases aren't done over just one procedure so it's important that the clinic is able to work with you and get you to where you want to be.
  11. Calvinjr, I think Bob is referring to shaving the donor area in preparation for the FUE procedure, not after.
  12. While you've experienced the biggest change within your progress, I don't see why you won't get more thickening and even a little more hair growth in the next 5-6 months. Thus far, you're result is looking superb! Thanks again for keeping consistent progress updates!!
  13. Thanks Squatch, David, & Sad! Sad, Yes, this patient is on hair loss prevention meds - Propecia and Rogaine. He started shortly before his first procedure with Shapiro Medical. It's working to keep his native hairs. His scar turned out very well that he doesn't notice it at all.
  14. It looks like you could do with a scar revision as well as fixing the temple corners. It's difficult to see by the pics you posted if some of the previous transplanted hairs need to be punch out. 3000 grafts to a small area is a lot. I would recommend going to few top clinics to get their evaluation and recommendation. What area do you live?
  15. Correction: I was careless when looking at the dates of when the pictures were taken and mixed info from this patient with another. I've relabeled the pictures correctly. The result is still great and the surgery data is the same. The title needs to be changed to: Dr. Paul Shapiro-Crown & Diff Loss Restoration at 0-18 Mos After Strip - 3198Grafts
  16. Walky, The smaller the incisions the faster a patient heals, for sure! but the main goal in getting a hair transplant is to achieve the best yield/result. The size of the incisions should be the same or slightly bigger than the grafts. Injury to the grafts can result in wiry hairs or worse. Some injuries can be detrimental to the follicles so it goes without saying that proper handling and care of the grafts is paramount. The hooked grafts don't necessarily mean that the hairs won't grow just a longer time may be needed for the follicles to recover as long as all the other steps in handling of the grafts were carried out well. At this point there isn't anything you can do but wait. Bummer that you pulled some grafts out Best of luck to you! Zeoranger, You can't cut your hair for 6 months after surgery? We inform our patients that 10 days after surgery they can buzz, cut, or put products in their hair.
