  1. Matt-sydney, Don't let someone cut you open for just a few hundred grafts! The scar does tend to get bigger with more HTs, as in my case. I would now, knowing what I know, not go in for anything less than 2500 grafts, and I mean not even 2499! It's more efficient for your donor and better long-term planning.
  2. Repair Guy, I know your thankful for getting a second chance at bettter happiness! Wow, what a difference even at 4.5 months! The redness does eventually fade, in my case almost a year and a half, so you've got that to look forward to.
  3. Can't decide, Even when you get very nice work done, people's general reaction is "Did you lose weight or something"? They can't quite put there finger on it cuz it's so gradual! I can't even remember what I looked like unless I go to my pictures! Again, that's an average range of response. If you go from a NW6 nowadays to having great work done and using most, if not all, of your donor, and wearing a hat for a long, long while, then you might get a "You have hair" reaction, but nobody's looking at you that closely even when you've worked or lived right next to that person!
  4. fineredhair, Is it advised by D.Rahal's clinc to put anything on a fresh wound? Even on applying, say, "Polysporin" to a cut or some ointment similar, on the precautions it will say: Don't apply to deep cuts! I would even double-check with a pharmacist and get his professional advise.
  5. Raphael84, You have a really good chance of always keeping hair on the top of your head. For one your donor, I take it, hasn't been used yet--first HT I mean, and Dr. Rahal will use it up wisely I'm sure.
  6. Has anyone used or know about a defining paste with added fiber like that of toppik to give added thickness?
  7. JK111, Keep in mind that my "Top 5" doctors are my own observations plus what others have said to be the Top 5 doctors in the world. Look at the consistent before and after photos for yourself and I'm sure you might agree also, and not necessarily in this order: Hasson and Wong because I not only had a great experience with Dr. Hasson but what really matters is that my final grow-in is amazing, and Dr.Wong invented a technique that really raised the bar for hair transplantation, which is known as "Lateral Slit Technique" some time ago. 2) Dr. Rahal. 3) Dr Feller. I have seen for myself that there are several outstanding doctors on this site doing work at this high level, but those four are are my top 4.
  8. JK111, When you get a repair in a few months or so, removing those groups of hairs on the hairline and wherever else they might be will just be a part of the whole repair process. Those are removed, disected again into 1's and 2's probably, but nonetheless removed and reused. It's a two or three-part process that probably can be done in one long session. In the meantime, try not to agonize over it because I can say this with certainty that with the great work doctors are doing you'll be more than happy with the final outcome!
  9. JK111, No. Not four more HTs! A great doctor can do that repair possibly in one session and maybe two, but the doctor can only inspect you under magnification and tell you for sure because there are too many factors: Do you have groups of say, 2-4 hairs that Bosley put into the hairline. Hopefuly not, but that may be the starting point for the doctor to consider, but definitely not four more procedures to fix you up!
  10. JK111, When I just saw your pic, I first thought, Oh my god!! Then I thought, A poor transplant like this can't still be happening in 2009!! If this is your first procedure, thank god because you're going to have donor hair left and after 8 months, like you said, you'll go to a great clinic you find on this site and get a beautiful job done! Your grafts are place way too far apart, which at this point may be to your advantage at your next session!! A Dr. Feller or Dr. Hasson or Dr. Rahal will do the kind of work you or anyone really deserves.
  11. growmehair, headinahole is right the staple removal is a pinch at worst, but I do know that you don't want to wait more than two weeks to do that and 10 days is the recommended!
  12. Maxxy, Hang in there until someone chimes in cuz I know a few members and more have used and talked about Toppik quite a bit.
  13. Ready For Change, Don't forget that way past the one-year mark you'll see how the hairs get even thicker. Btw, your work looks awesome!!
  14. canadian_buba, I don't think your keeping a secret one bit, but instead are just using discretion! A secret has a negative conotation or something wrong you're doing and don't want others to find out about. Two entirely different things. Someone going to the gym daily that looks great doesn't walk up to people and say: Hey, I sweat and diet hard and drink tons of water to look this good. Not a chance! They want you to think it's all natural! Good luck!
  15. canadian_bubba, I'm reading all the replys to you and even though having a successful HT myself, I wish I could go through it all again!!! The pre-planning and money worries are really the adventure. I look forward to going through it again so try to savor every step of the way!!
  16. canadian_bubba, I personally told no one about my HT, and am thankful I did'nt!! No one ever said one thing , and probably could have cared less that I wore a hat for 4 months. You really leave yourself open to unwanted ridicule and ignorance about something like hair transplantation that most know nothing about, but will certainly pass around that you had an HT.
  17. royrover, When Dr. Wong does 4826 grafts one someone, in this case you, you've got to be gettin happy and thankful at this point!!
  18. bobby13, You don't know the potential problems and/or disappointments when your going to just any doctor who is going to perform hair transplant surgery! To get a great or even good result you should really do more investigating of doctors and this is a great place to start. Many members, including myself, have gone to the very best doctors in hair transplantation and have the great results to prove it. Don't be another statistic and start by looking at the "Coalition of Doctors" here. Take it seriously.
  19. Trainer444n4, I felt the same way having two procedures and weak, weak results!!! I would have needed 8 more HTs like I was getting--no joke-- to finally get the results I got only once when I went to Hasson & Wong!!!
  20. Flavio, I never saw good results with just moderate diet and exercise. You have to put your foot on the gas!!! I've seen first hand how really increasing my water intake from a quart to 4 quarts a day and power walking made a visible difference!! You want to give yourself 60 days of 4 quarts and even a bit more and serious 30 minutes every day of walking, dark, cold, whatever and you'll thank yourself for finally seeing some results. Lipo, by the way, is not a cure-all guaranteed on that. You can get fat again if you don't change what you were doing or not doing before!
  21. lanthanos, I'm gearing up to go to the gym tomorrow and really get out. Standing around looking at blank faces tonight would bring me down so I'll pass this year!
  22. steveg, Ditto for me too as Flavio said, and have used it for almost 2 years.
  23. Hair Brewer, I got to say, for 1700 grafts it is a big improvement. Was it a budget thing that you couldn't do a bigger session?
  24. Help! My prescription of Proscar is still 7-10 days away, and I'm hell-bent on not missing a dose!! I'm in Long Beach, California and will pay and pick up or arrange to pay for over-night delivery for 7 days worth. Help!
