  1. Hi Franklin, I had my first HT done in Australia, and then I traveled around Europe and now I'm back. I should have changed my location. In Australia I had seen a few Doctors and I wasn't convinced in their skills. These doctors seemed to put more effort into marketing than actually delivering a good product. I have also read bad reports from these doctors, so maybe this could be some correlation to look for upon selection. The doctor I chose was highly recommended by my GP, although they do not push their marketing campaign they seemed to be very good and I have seen positive remarks on their work by other members. It might be the industry itself or maybe just in Australia, where doctors seem to pitch their services to you, which always make me feel uneasy. The Doctor I did choose was less commercial than the others, but was still a bit "pitchy". I was hoping for someone to recommend a "white knight" like surgeon, who is upfront from the start with nothing to hide and no B/S. I thought during my consultation that I had asked the right questions. I guess a lesson for all this is to have the right questions ready and make sure that you note them down. I should have looked for someones full proof assurance method of "what to ask the HT surgeon". As I said lesson learned.
  2. First I'd like to thank those who replied to my previous posts in regards to the growth rate of my 1st HT. It's really great to have that type of support when you've made such a big decision to alter your appearance in such a fashion. It's been almost 12 months now since my 1st HT. I have now seen my HT doctor and they have said that I will need another HT to fill up my hair. That's okay, because the feedback from other members suggested that also. However, I must admit that I felt a little misguided by my doctor. It seems obvious now that I would have needed more grafts, but during my pre op consultations, I felt the doctor had not explained this to me and had given me a sense that I wouldn't really need another one. I kind of feel that I had been sucked in to get the 1st HT to effectively place me in a point of no return situation. I probably would have got the HT done anyway, but the feeling of being misguided by my doctor doesn't sit well. I believe my doctor did a good 1st HT but do I use him again if I feel they are misguiding during consultations, where they deliver a sales pitch rather than giving pure objective feedback on your current hair situation and goals? I will be making other visits to other HT doctors for their opinions. Can anyone recommend some Australian HT doctors?
  3. Hello its752, well, not that I have a lot of cash to throw around, but I had suggested more to my doctor. He said 1700 would be enough. And he is quite reputable. Time will tell eventually I guess.
  4. Hello Agio, It was 1700 grafts and I think at least 2200 hairs.
  5. I posted some pictures with my progression in regards to my last post. I hope someone may be able to shed some light on what may be occurring.

  7. After growing concern with my own HT, I've decided to make a post so that I may be able to put some worries behind me. I had a HT about 10 months ago. I've reviewed the experiences of others about having faith and being patient and that eventually (if you have the right doctor) all becomes well. However, I would say my experience so far is that my HT growth is slower than what most people experience, maybe by about a month or so, and most of the HT seems to be following the regular pattern. My main concern is that in the recipient area where I had had thinning hair previously, the HT growth seems to be growing at a different rate, if at all, and slower than the recipient area which was bald. Is there an explanation for this? I have visited this site previously to keep my faith strong but in this case I have been unable to find anyone else with a similar experience.
