Maybe this is a sign of the times when patients are complaining that they got too much hair!! Peacful_Lion, I can understand Mps concern if there are doubles packed in along the hairline, but only he can tell us. I got an awesome transplant from Dr. Hasson, and I even feel a little sad looking at how much hair Mps got. looking at it up close could be another story though.

Change your life?
its752 replied to Grateful Head's topic in Support Group - Discuss personal issues due to Hair Loss
Grateful Head, In my case, comparing your question to losing 20 pounds could be accurate. I lost 15 pounds a while back and saw abs for the first time. People seeing me were saying " I can't describe how different you look in the face", and another about my slim waist and abs. Having a hairline now is amazing. You may find, like myself, that it takes some adjustment of how your feeling. I don't worry if the wind blows--like before, and how I would dread if someone noticed my hairline receeding, or if I had to get in a pool. Many activities for me were limited, so in a nutshell that's what I've considered to be life changing. One thing that hasn't changed is that life doesn't discriminate if you have hair or not and continues to deal you blows in any way possible. -
HoToStop, Propecia has the best chance nowadays to slow or stop future hair loss. I have had no side effects that I can measure and most people don't. If you start taking it, you don't see any change for atleast 7 months. Hair keeps falling out like usual, then you may start to see less hair on the bathroom floor, but again, it does not start to work for many months and don't miss a dose!!! That's the best starting point for getting a handle on hair loss, and from there you can see where it's going and know if you'll end up getting a hair transplant like most of us do.

rp1979, It looks to me like you had more than 2700 grafts!! What a great result. Be sure you keep taking the finesteride!

bijous11, I really commend you on helping your son with his hair loss and his feelings of despair. Do whatever it takes to continue to make him feel better and better about his looks and continue to be there for him, and certainly don't tell him that looks don't matter and that they are superficial because you certainly will not get his or anyone else's agreement on that. Are you able to see about a prescription for Finesteride at this point to stablize his hair loss. It takes a few months to start working, and it has worked for me. That would be the first step for him, regardless if goes on to get the vealex system or not. Good luck and keep posting!

Matt-sydney, You really want to try and hit a home run when searching out and getting an HT. There's a fine line between getting a great and not-so-great result. I had two HTs with depressing results and only a wide donor scar for my efforts. I finally, after discovering this site, ended up flying to Vancouver with really no extra hassle at all and an awesome final result.

Thiery0001, I don't blame you a bit for thinking about wanting to wear a piece, but know nothing about them except for the usual: You can tell when someone's wearing one comment. I personally would wear one if I had major hair loss and if some company was doing them undetectable. I wouldn't let the hassle of maintaing it deter me one bit, again if it's undetectable. In regards to Finesteride, I read a story recently that Finesteride was causing a guy similar symptoms to yours, racing heart, anxiety in the night time, but I have not experienced these.

Rambler, Who did yur work?

Tembo, If you don't already workout, you'll definitely want to start there, and after the ball gets rolling you might be amazed how your loooks change, especially for many in the face. I lost 12-15 pounds a while back pretty suddenly and I couldn't believe the new person I was looking at. Others were saying the same thing. If you're working out you'll start to lose weight and just lay off the some of the fat foods like everybody knows. I don't count calories or body fat or even worry too much about weighing myself, I just look in the mirror.

What exacty is a "failed HT"?
its752 replied to go4it's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
go4it, It's pretty rare that an HT doesn't grow in, and everyone I've seen that has had one has come in. If a top-notch doctor gives you the green light to have one, you're probably going to be more than pleased at the results, as I and others were. I would only tell you to stick with one of the top 5 doctors, that mostly everyone here agrees on. There is always the possibility of complications as with any surgery, but that chance is greatly reduced in choosing a top doctor/clinic so no need to worry! -
Propecia/Rogaine on a 19 yearold(did nothing but hurt my hairline)
its752 replied to Jupiter's topic in Hair Loss Drugs
Jupiter, Just to give you some extra info about my use of Propecia: For the first 2--maybe 3 months I used Propecia then switched to Proscar for a total combined use of just a little over one year now. At about 7 months, more or less, I stopped seeing hair on the bathroom floor and have continued to not see more than a few hairs. The difference is significant!! I mean from shedding like a mad dog, seeing tens of hundreds of hairs, to only minimal shedding, but for the first several months really believed it was doing nothing for me until I finally got over the hump. Be patient and with your persistence, hopefully, you'll keep a pretty full head of hair! -
One Year Post Op - Dr. Rahal - HAIRFREE
its752 replied to Hairfree's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Hairfree, You got to love your new confidence, I'm sure! Dr. Rahal and his great techs are, without a doubt, the ones who can get the great results. How many grafts did you receive? That is amazing!!!! -
nikan, At the very least you will want to get on Proscar or Propecia for the next several months to see if and how muh your hair loss has slowed.
-
ravi kanth, It's a combination of Dermatch and Nanogen. I believe Nanogen is suppose to be better for the back, but get the real facts from a forum member here "Thanatopsis_awry". If you private messga him he will definitely help you out!

6 month post op - hair is different
its752 replied to baldeagle11's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
baldeagle11, Do you use Pomade or gel on your hair now? It helps with the flyaways some. It's really about getting it on with just the right amount so it doesn't leave your hair looking thin but will control it. -
Two questions regarding propecia, any help is appreciated!
its752 replied to Steven545's topic in Open Hair Loss Topics
Steven545, In my case, when I started on Propecia the hair just kept on falling out month after month. I have kept taking it faithfully for 11 months or so now, and it's been 3 months now that I don't see hair on the bathroom floor at all!! I am still keeping a close eye on the bathroom floor and will continue to do so in the event I'm not just going through a no-shedding cycle. Only until I see long-term proof, will I say it's working for me. Do the test yourself, but don't miss a dose! I am more confused than ever about if it works or doesn't work on the hairline and for how many years, so I continue to look at one area--the bathroom floor and shower. -
4700 Grafts with Dr. Hasson - 4 and a half month update
its752 replied to Mikeb921's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Mikeb921, I too am surprised about the 4700 grafts, and like Bill said continue the Propecia. After 10 months on Propecia/Proscar and for a month or so now I've stopped shedding hair--finally and hope it's not a no-shedding cycle my hair is going through but it is the effects of Proscar! I'm going to watch it closely but at the moment I think it's working. Good luck. -
Hurley2013, Just to let you know about the ingredient Ketokonazole, which is talked about in marginally fighting hair loss. It is in 1% strength in both Revita and Nizoral, but Nizoral does make a 2% formula that can be bought through a prescription.

propecia .. where is the best place to buy online ?
its752 replied to Thinair's topic in Hair Loss Drugs
Thinair, You're definitely going to need a doctor's prescription to get Propecia. If you are going to consult with a clinic in the near future, they will give you a script if not and you have a family doctor, he or she should give you one, but more importantly get Proscar not Propecia it's a ton of money less. I cut a 5mg tablet into fourths with a 6 dollar pill cutter from the drugstore and it goes three times further for less than half the price -
Ajen and sukkel, I personally wouldn't take anything that doesn't say "Merck Frosst" or "Propecia" or "Avodart" right on the box!
-
16inchscar, Your life is only "completely ruined"--temporarily!!!!!! You may some day be doing a complete 180 with a few awesome doctors that I know about! I too had two weak procedures and finally got the real deal!!
-
repo-man, More movement, ie pulling, pushing is connected to that donor area than you might think. My donor was pretty tight after surgery and even the slightest movement of my head forward could be felt. I've heard many times over the years that any surgery to be totally healed takes one full year so you be the judge on how much exercising you may or may not want to do. Good luck.

repo-man, I started walking every other day in addition to some weight lifting and found out gradually how shorter steps and pushing off of the balls of my feet gave me a comparable workout to something like a sit down squat. You should, as you know, walk 30 minutes atleast and at a faster pace. Maybe you'll be as amazed at the result as I was.
