  1. if you use dermmatch, spread it around using your fingers, use a blow dryer on the cool setting to give it more natural look.. you should be able to use gel
  2. Sorry about all of the questions tonight. I have some downtown and figured I would ask whatever came to mind. I know a lot of people have been trying out RU, however I am not finding any decent feedback. Have any of you tried it or know of others who have? if so, anything to report? Thanks
  3. I have ordered emu oil and spiro, along with some other pills extracts and pills I am going to experiment with. ie probiotics, greentea, grape, curcurim.. Anyway, my plan is to wash my hair out in the evenings with a vinegar concoction to completely clean out the scalp, and then apply emu oil and spiro before bed. I was planning on using the spiro on my temples, and the emu on the top of my head. Would there be any problems using them in this manner? should I space out the time of when they are applied? Thanks
  4. Gotcha, thanks for the heads up from you both.. I will def post any articles I come across
  5. Like the others have mentioned, age has a lot to do with it... I started losing it early on, roughly 17. That is an age where you begin to find yourself and appearances play a big part in your life. If I started losing it 10 years later around 27 or so. As much as it would still suck, I don't think it would have affected me as intensely.
  6. Jamie Foxx, is a little different. He has Black hair and blackskin, so even with a tattoo it is easier to blend in. Here is an idea I have been toying around with. I have noticed that some people have begun tattooing their heads to give the scalp the darker appearance of hair. What if you just tattoo the scar area and buzz down to a #2? Would that blend it enough to just make it seem like the skin or would tha scar still be visible?
  7. Very true, I knew I would be in the marketing realm while I was in college, and since I started losing it around the age of 17... I needed every advantage I could just to keep up "appearances" I am in my late 20's now and have had 3 ht's... Probably one more next year for touching up. A big part of me wishes I never got the first one, as I had to keep getting them to continue to pull it off. Being so young and losing hair really sux, as you will do almost anything to not be an outcast. Even though I have become a concealer whore, I know that the alternative (though much easier to deal with in everyday life) would keep me back as I have to deal with a lot of people from a work stand point. Now that I am almost 30, I feel that with the proper maintenance, even a thinner look can be pulled off well since I am starting to notice my peers have begun to thin... If could go back to 2005 when I took the plunge, I would have definitely held off a few years. I would have done better research on styling and concealers... Gone to Dr Feller first instead of being screwed by karamikian I would have saved more money and gotten fue instead of strip. It's bad enough having to hide HL, however having to also hide a strip scar from ear to ear is just a cruel joke. I am also pretty sure the trauma from getting strip done accelerated my HL. My only question to some of you is, what are some additional tips/ tricks you recommend in hiding/ reducing a scar? If I could buzz down to a #2 on the sides as opposed to a #3 and keep the top around a #4 or #5 gelled, I think I could make it work really well. Thanks on a side note, one of the worst parts about a HT is the recovery. Not only the first 2 weeks, however the growth period. You can literally go through 3-5 years of staying on top of HL through surgery, without even blinking. If scientists could come up with a way to reduce the over all recovery and growth period it would truly revolutionize the HT industry
  8. I use dermmatch to hide some of my scarring.. Since it can be a bit chalky, some people think i dye my hair, and have asked.. To which I just say yes, and move on. Unless they specifically know its dermmatch, tell them you are covering up some gray and move on. if they continue to give you crap, just stop hanging with them Good luck buddy
  9. Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any further info on Bimatoprost? Does it have any effectiveness/sides? thanks
  10. I don't see why they would want to suppress it? It would generate billions of dollars
  11. at that price I would assume you mean strip, and if that is the case you might not be able to keep your hair that short.. with regard to grafts depending on the pattern, imo you would about 3k for the entire front. (1500 left side, 1500 right side) that comes out to be about $12-$13k btw I have not heard of dr gabel, where does he practice out of and have you done your HW on him? Good luck either way dude
  12. Thanks for the response Dakota I remember reading how a few docs were trying Acell and for some reason I thought I read how some claimed it didn't work? It might be FDA approved however are there any reported cases of it working? I have also been reading more about lasers for eliminating scars is there any validity behind it? Thanks
  13. I was just wondering if there have been any advancements in scar healing? I use concealer to hide my strip, however it is becoming irksome.. is there any hope in the near future? Thanks
  14. I have no comment on Aramani's skill one way or another. However $21 is pretty ridiculous imo. If he can find clientele to pay that high fee more power to him.. "1 year of medical/cosmetic supplies in addition to many other VIP services." propecia and toppik? come on now
  15. I use dermmacth around my scar area, and toppik for the top of my head.. Speaking of which. Do any of you have any suggestions to alternative toppik products that are cheaper in price?
  16. I thought the acell compound was found to be bogus? regardless, the problem with HC is that the hairs to be able to survive hair cycles and def not become cancerous.. Do they have any images of results and/or proof the hairs survive hair cycles?
  17. $20 k for something that might work? for real? HAHAHA What is their reasoning for the 20% it does not work on? For the 80% it does work on, what are the results? How large is the treated area and is there a noticeable difference? For $20k the results better be comparable to at least a 6k graft HT
  18. geez, as a person who is a master at the art of toppik and dermmatch let me tip my hat to you on this one. I have been playing the concealer game for almost 4 years now and for the most part no one is the wiser. However, you actually have concealer on while at home with your girl all the time? doesn't she run her fingers through your hair? I don't understand how you have not been busted with a live in girl up till now? In either case good for you. With regard to this rouse, I did something similar with everyone I work with back in the fall when I got work done with Dr Feller as well.. Not quite as elaborate that's for sure, however enough "proof" to show where I was.. I still can't get over the fact that you use concealer all the time. I hate the fact that I have to use it every time I go out, if I had to use it 24/7 I would probably go insane! Whenever you have a moment please update us on how you are doing
  19. a NW4 having hair and thickness like JD with a HT? HAHAH be serious
  20. I don't understand how you can compare PRP and LLT? First of all Dr Feller has specifically stated undergoing any PRP treatment is purely experimental and that it does not guarantee any regrowth or even maintenance... from the photos posted if you believe it is beneficial then by all means, if not then no sweat. I personally am waiting until about January to see the results of the people who have already undergone it. Secondly the LLT people claim their product is a treatment for MPB which to this day I have not seen one shred of evidence
  21. I know that BHT tend to grow slowly, however what about facial hair? That seems to grow in faster than my normal head hair.. Thoughts?
  22. 2 things .. the first being I have very oily skin as well. is there anything that can be done to reduce that? I find if I can reduce the oil my hair won't look so damn thin after only 2 hours of a shower.. the 2nd thing being the reason why our heads look so shiny is probably due to it being the top point of our bodies and light having the fullest glare on it? Just an opinion
  23. lol look at how thick that hair is, no way its a transplant alone. it is either a piece of serious concealer work
  24. As a few others have said, there is not way to tell without performing 100's if not 1000's of PRP procedures to truly get an idea of it's effectiveness. From the way it sounds, I personally think it will thicken existing hair and potentially keep what you have without the nasty side effects... Re growth? no clue, hopefully after some of these procedures we will find out for sure. As an added bonus I am hoping it aids in the recovery and yield of a HT.. only time will tell if any of this is true
