  1. Good Luck Foriegner ! Wish ya the best ! NW
  2. AZguy, Looks good, bet your excited for the growing season !! Good Luck ! NW
  3. You should be good ta go for summer, definately ! Then it just keeps growing...almost like "real" hair..cause it is !! woo hoo !
  4. I agree w/Arfy and Dr Parsley as well. (and joto-vocor) Definately Err on the side of conservative. Even just putting healthy hair in the top-scalp area will show a dramatic improvement, and save your grafts for later, most of these young guys will need them, I didnt even receed till 35, imaging a guy losing it at 24 ?. I think slight recession in the temple area looks more natural anyways. NW
  5. 4 1/2 - 6 mo's was the main time frame for me.
  6. Eastcoast, Wow you were a nw5 !, looking good - I would say. As for the hairline - My opinion, its right where you want it and looks good. NW
  7. Tex, Re: your post & example above: That hairline example is reasonable, a bit recessed and not brought forward but rather "filled in". I would place that guy pushing a nw2 which in my opinion works rather well, and I assume he is a good canidate for HT, it looks like he has pretty thick donor. His case is similiar to mine. I could have been more aggressive, but opted not to, its personal case by case. Other guys want more aggressive squaring, and I do not have a problem with that providing they can accomodate the space long term with plenty of donor hair (fu's dont go far !), every guy will have a slightly differing view of the "perfectly planted" hairline. "Precaution" is not a bad word always...Look at Billy Joel lately, all the sudden.."Bam" no hair, and he is advancing in age, it didnt happen to him as a young buck, he had reasonable hair till late 40's ??? 8. River Rat, I think you could realize some good results, but I would have a respected Doc evaluate your donor supply. My hair was miniturizing quickly, I started Propecia and had some HT work..am far happier, but beware others have had poor work...be careful and good luck ! NW
  9. Agree, That is some great growth for only 4mo's ! NW
  10. You will not see any results at 1 month, perhaps a lot of shedding from shock.
  11. vbcbc, Hair doesnt make the man - as they say, but in can make you feel better about yourself. I too say Propecia, 1st step, still not happy look for a "elite" HT doc find out if it is for you, it was for me and I am happy now, but some guys have been hacked so proceed w/caution....and unfortunately you may need to chose between a new car or hair - like you said it aint cheap! ? I did get some pretty good density after 2 HT's and a far better hairline, allbeit natural and not too low for the long term, I style my hair the same way see my pics & good luck !. NW
  12. Case 1) a patient is ecstatic at the improvement of HT 1 & has a desire to go a bit further or denser. Case 2) a patient had less than desireable results and has to do a fix, finds a better doc. Case 3) a patient had planned on goals that required 2 HT's from the very beggining. NW

    Dr. Greco

Based on Results; I have seen some really nice work on "ttaco" & "Andy" from Joe Greco (they both look great !), so in terms of HT skill he seems to have a nice touch. I dont remember anyone posting that they had a traumatic experience w/him ? Personal opinion I guess, as is the Seager group letting "Technicians" make recipient incisions ? Like the Fox news show host Bill O'Rielly says " We'll let the audience decide " NW
  14. Them steroids may bloat you up, but they just dont do much for your scalp. The way I look at it, if you get ta cheat in the weightroom then: "May god take your hair !" Steroids..no thanks [This message was edited by NW on April 04, 2003 at 08:47 PM.]
  15. Toppik looks very natural, but since it is not that expensive give it a try, dont over-apply. I only used it on my crown area. I was impressed. NW
  16. Light brown toppik works very well for dark blonde hair or also called "Sandy", "dishwater", etc... I used it after my HT to help cover a trimmed crown area..it was fantastic, in my case I also spinkled a slight amount of grey to blend in with my "old guy" mixed color. Give it a try, it saved me for a few months, during regrowth. NW
  17. Nobody is ever fully satisfied after HT ? Speak for yourself Arfy, I am satified fully with my 2 HT's ? I have no desire to correct anything further and will cross my fingers that Propecia continues to work. Agree everyone should accept themselves with or without hair, And any guy can look good bald, but that same guy with hair often times looks better....why lie ? I am not a proponant of everyone get a HT, but for the good candidates with a capable Doc...It does work very well. Only "My" opinion..... Arfy you have helped me and others immensly, just disagree with "everyone" being dis-satisfied with HT. NW
  18. Dude1, Just an idea here, I get dry hair and at times an itchy scalp, but always have even before Propecia, one thing that works for me is use "conditioner only" every other day on your hair..this helps even out the dryness. NW
  19. I absolutely agree with Vocor, Darker skin tone, 50% (or more) of men look fine bald, or look even great, add a goatie etc.. for those guys, your lucky and I support baldness for your skin tones. For the other men (like me !!), it looks like you are undergoing chemo treatments, this is not meant as a negative but its true....you look like a damn Bookworm geek !!! Yes, This is a crack at some humor !! I wanted my hair back, got it back and with Propecia or new drugs, I plan on keeping my hair !! NW
  20. Cool ! Where's the photo ? Add a little merit to your success.
  21. Rugby, Have you thought about slightly building your frontal hairline and using a hairpiece behind ? I am not a huge fan of hairpieces, but you have an extremely poor case of supply/demand. I have seen this pulled off quite nicely, and you already have older grafts that are hard to get rid of. ? NW

    TO N.W.

oms, It says at the bottom of each post where your hometown is...Scotland is cool !! and from what I have seen in books has some very nice countryside. Now my wife would tell you she like's the kilts !! but, you wont get my white-boy legs in one of them...lol NW
  23. East Coast, I too have lighter hair on top than in the back where the donor hair is obtained...and right when it started growing in, it appeared a bit darker than the top/front, but like Vocor1 mentioned with time and some outdoors, it now blends in with the rest. It will most likely not be an issue. NW
  24. ttaco, Looks great, I think you are outta the woods buddy !! in fact the mini's in back look pretty dense ? luckily your 1st doc put them back far enough. The new work is fantastic and natural. Enjoy NW
