  1. HT Quality hasnt always cost more ?? I think FUE prices will come down, The hair mills are getting as much $$$ or more than the good microscopically disection all-FU clinics are getting per graft ??......and cutting grafts by a magnifying loop is at least 4 times faster than with a microscope. I think the prices will come down - right now you see primarily docs doing the FUE procedure's, one has to wonder how the tech's will be brought in to help ? and of course whether it will create a quality issue. I give it 3-4 years & you will see FUE at $4 a graft. My speculation only here.
  2. NoWay The wording in your post sounds rather nutty ? You never gain hair counts "overall" after a HT it is mathmatically impossible. This is common knowledge - is that what you attempted to say ? Oh well...
  3. S.o.a.p., Which Doc are you going to ? After care, I did use Grafcyte spray, it did help heal the scabs without letting them dry-out. Sleep in an upright position as much as possible for swelling, however I had swelling on both HT's, tried everything etc... but days 3-5 expect it, you should take pictures of the "Alien" sleeping in your bed !. In fact I kinda looked like my avatar picture. < ------ the guy up here to the left was days 3-5....a real head swelling bonanza...lol, but it passes. Good Luck NW
  4. Jenn- I think you want to at a very minimum tell your Doc honestly what your plans are, at a minimum he/she will be in the know ?? for liablity purposes you can tell them you will get the drug elsewhere - lets face it anyone can get Propecia on-line these days, but do keep in touch with an MD or your own family doc, for your own well-being. This is far better than experimenting with no-one in the know..? Hormonal drugs should be monitored IMO. NW
  5. Honestly 4.5 to 6 months is a better time to start to judge results. NW

    Peach Fuzz

Here is pre-HT & after 2 HT's, the "before" shows alot of miniturized hair in the front. link: web page

    Peach Fuzz

Gambo - It is a good bet you will not revitalize the fuzz quite to satisfaction, but Propecia should help hold the line, I personally had absolutely zero luck with Rogaine. If you look at my before HT photo you will see a very good example of "miniturized" hair (frontal area). NW

    Peach Fuzz

Gambo, Peach Fuzz, is essentially "miniturized hair" the direct result of MPB - Propecia is your best hope to save the hair before it says a "final farewell". It is said DHT works to close up the follicles and kill the hair - root and all ! Propecia works against the DHT. I have had success revitalizing some crown area peach fuzz w/Propecia. Good Luck !! NW
  9. Micro, The Ben Affleck pic posted looks possibly altered ? if ol' Ben has fooled me I would say "not bad chap!" I have his seen hairline and roots on t.v., so it must be a great system..I know they are out there. NW
  10. I would say John Travolta has had some hairline widening. Ben Afleck just has nice thick hair ? I have never seen a photo where he has had any hair trouble. Hell lets just go pull on his frontal hair, check for a HT scar & hope he didnt trick us and go FUE !! & I wouldnt mind saying hi to J-lo while I am there either ! My 2 cents
  11. Mel, After 10 days you are safe, the grafts have already taken hold - it would take an auto accident or somthing very traumatic at this stage to hurt the new stuff. I personally would not use a comb hard against the scalp till scabs are gone - just to be safe. Perhaps use the comb on the "hair itself" only to detangle etc..,but not against the scalp skin. After 10 days you are free to lightly massage grafts in the shower, this will help rid the scabs safely. The hair shedding is very normal, dont worry about it. Regards !! NW
  12. I hope you guys both keep us posted at around the 5 month post-op mark. Even though I am finished, at least for a good while (thank you God!), I find a good HT quite interesting, and almost hinging on unbelievable ! You really cannot tell anything has been done - just more hair. I will place a good bet on both of your post-op results being outstanding..just a good hunch. Chad: This could become a future medical field for you ? who knows. Thanks NW
  13. Pick one - any of that specific list notated. All consistently have good reviews and excellent reputations, trying to narrow a list of Docs down to one is no easy task ! I say there are 12 or so I would trust (you have a few of those 12 IMO).
  14. Fizzlefest..some downright awsome work !!
  15. Homer, After posting a message, go back and click on the "paper tablet & pencil" icon, this allows for updating/editing the message. NW
  16. I am trying to take the lowest effective dose - I will bump up to 1 mg in the future if needed, however .5 mg is working for me, and from what I hear some others as well. Hopefully my system will not build resistence etc... NW
  17. NC30 After the initial graft growth occurs your hair then goes back to a "regular random" growth/shed cycle..just like before, and you already know this but Propecia helps that cycle considerably in most Men. For me after 2 HT's and regular use of Propecia I have very little normal shedding, even less than normal, maybe 20 hairs daily (a guess), but quite improved. A small footnote: when I reduced my Propecia dose from .5 mg daily down to .25 mg daily I then began to see increased shedding, so I am firmly at .5 mg daily and more if warranted later. NW
  18. Micro, That is an inspiring post ! The gym can be therapy..and nothing wrong with being in great physical shape. NW
  19. On the lower end of the dosage spectrum I found this out: My case only here (we all differ): I found .5 to be as effective as 1 mg taken daily. However when I adjusted to only .25 mg daily I began to see some minor fallout after 3 months - so naturally I swithced back to .5 mg daily. As Paul mentions for some men perhaps 1mg daily is not quite enough ? individual characteristics such as body weight, DHT levels etc.. could indicate using a slightly higher dose ? I would agree. I think if you watch and compare you can find an ideal dose. My study was interesting also because it proved to myself that Propeia is working. NW
  20. My stats - Both HT's I had very sudden growth at 4 1/2 mo's...this kept up till appx month 6-7. So I would say I noticed the "new" hair in this time zone predominately. After month 7 the gains were purely just in hair length and thinkening. PRguy - buddy, yur close !!! all the best. NW
  21. UncleJim, Would you know who did his HT ????? they squared the temple's I see !!! o.k. I had better get back ta work myself.
  22. Mathew McCounahey as well
  23. Farrell Mann is a different guy than Richard Farell. 1) Farrell Mann is the web-site sponsor, 2) Richard Farell is the wig producer, which from what I have seen & heard may be the nicest Hairpieces available (though not for me) NW
  24. Fabe, For what its worth, I have had discussions with Dr Feller (over time) and he has shared several photos of his early FUE testing, I personally would trust him & have heard some great comments about his work both from his collegues and patients as well. He comes recommended on all the Hair sites & I have not seen a negative comment re: his work ever. You may not see a Physician comment regularly on this forum, things get shot down rather quickly due to the variety of opinions...but Dr Feller has had some very informative posts and excellent FUE closeups in the past. He would be very much worth a consult in my opinion. NW
  25. There is always more than 1 way to proceed..especially when you have a lot of turf to cover. its up to you !! My favorite is the 2 HT route with the majority of grafts on HT #1, this seems more common lately. HT1- 2500 HT2- 1500-2000 Good Luck ! NW
