1. good topic, i am a little too paranoid about medicated shampoos, lotions, etc. i wonder if a doctor/an expert can respond to this put the following in order of harmfullness ( high to low ) 1. medicated and/or fragrance shampoo 2. Johnson and Johnson or the like, baby shampoo 3. Normal body soap - like Dove. this is for the head ofcourse... does the order change with HT ?
2. Aaron and Bill, I dont know about numbness at 11 months or more.. please keep us posted. Who are your doctors, anways ? Thanks.
3. Joe, it looks to me the bigger issue is your self-esteem - 'mmhce' nailed it in one of his first posts. if you are not self-confident, a full-head of hair will not do any miracles. you need to find some friend/mentor's help to correct how you think/act.. there are a lot of successful men who are bald but billionaires - its whats inside the bald head that needs to be worked on! HT is just *one* of the things that can help you have a better life.. as for meds, i personally dont believe/afraid to take them, may be i am not so helpless/desperate, but its the side affects that scare me.. it might work for someone, what if it boomrangs for me ? Good luck man!
4. diverso, i am really sorry to hear about your situation. being very shy and bald is a double whammy.. i can relate to that very much. first and foremost see a coalition doctor (a doctor recommended by this website ), discuss your issue.. second, since you have started losing hair so early, you should probably give it some time until it settles down, otherwise you could end up with a situation where you cannot meet the transplant needs with your supply of your donor area. third, you need to force yourself to expose to people, society. Unfortunately, with todays technology, people are meeting less and less in person, thus more susceptible for being shy, depressed, etc. Much bigger issue here seems to be your depression, IMO, being bald does not and should not necessarily cause it; it might certainly contribute to it.. but then there are hundreds of things in life that can do so.. be strong, move around with friends who understand you, keep yourself busy with something, someone, study, music and so on... as you age, things will improve, your perspective will change, trust me!
5. the picture is not very clear... if your hair is too short, then some scalp will be seen... shock loss seem to vary from person to person & doc to doc... Good Luck anyways.
6. tc17, I think for medium sessions, 2500-3500 a lot of coalition doctors are really good, but either dont have "too much following on this forum" or have patients that dont post their procedure pics. i tend to think, the more obsessed get more transplants, and research more and post more..! no offense :-) IMHO, Dr. Paul Rose is another underrated doctor.
7. KayKay, i think i have to agree with hair_care on the grafts placement being far apart... anyways, like he said Jadgish seemed to have an amazing result, hopefully it will come out good. Good Luck.
8. Abedogg, looks awesome already... as they say, you need an year to begin seeing the complete result.. how much time did it take for 3000 FUE ? i believe its going to be much longer than FUG/FUT or whatever they call it these days ! and yes dont forget to let us know how much Dr. Umar charged. Enjoy man... you crossed the river..
9. rpachigo, I saw your pics, looks like the strip was too long almost near the temple. cannot belive they needed such a long one for fewer grafts. Good Luck anyways! riz, thanks for the info. Good luck to you too..
10. oh man, that scares the hell out of me... without any medicine, for some reason my sex drive went up recently... wonder what i would have done if i had started taking it and had the same affect... hey who's that "P.D" ?? my imposter ? ;-) just kidding..
11. repo-man, the current pics on your blog look great, I am of indian origin too and was a bit concerned - i guess i we should not make any conclusions so early. Just as a side note : have you done an audit of how many grafts placed have actually started growing ? No offence to the Dr. but, i think I read in one of his previous posts in this thread that the grafts should be placed carefully/differently for an asian/middle-easterner otherwise they may not all grow... see the Dr.s post on page 1 thanks.
12. rpachigo, is that the cost of your transplant ? i see you have had a bad transplant, is it for that one or did you have another done, if so with whom ? What is the name of your doc ? riz, how much did you pay per graft and which city in India is this doc ? Bill, Most doctors are too busy, to spend time on forums.. if they are being booked months ahead, why would they want more advertisement ;-)
13. Tedd , Hows your hair been growing ? any updates? photos please ?? PD Signature:Please click here to vote for the doctor you would go to if you needed a hair transplantation today!
14. Tedd, Thats a great pic.. good progress too! Good luck ! I hear 5 months is the time the appearance changes a lot... so the real serious growth is still in the offing.. PD Signature:Please click here to vote for the doctor you would go to if you needed a hair transplantation today!
15. Tedd, Congrats, we are all happy for you. You sure are one lucky guy.. after reading your story, now I am starting to think that maybe i should 'switch' ! New Job ! New Pay ! New HEAD !!! what more can you ask for? eh ? PD. Signature:Please click here to vote for the doctor you would go to if you needed a hair transplantation today!
16. Vocor1, I agree with your one hundred %. Most people overlook the fact that a lot depends on the patients scalp, hair, healing, etc. I know that Dr. Rose is a great doctor and I am sure the problem you had has nothing to do with his skill.. I appreciate your honest post.. stay in this forum, it needs posters like you. Good luck. 17. vocor1, I think i have asked you this question before but was left unanswered, will you please explain why you say your HT experience with Dr. Rose was not "perfect" ? Thanks in advance. tkotko,
quote:
It's probably harder for us to compare with the Jotronic's and Futzyheads's progression in their websites because their MPB were further progressed, and at 4 - 5 months the difference with the before and after photos were more substantial that ours would be. are you saying that jo's and futzyhead's HT was better than yours in some way or are you saying that its only an illusion or something because of their MPB progression ? Please reply, thanks. Signature:Please click here to vote for the doctor you would go to if you needed a hair transplantation today!
18. Strange-curls, Wow, unbeleivable.. i have not know any that had so many grafts in one surgery! Please tell us how wide and long the strip was.. have you dared to count the incisions after the surgery, with someone's help!!! no offense to the doctors but I would be really really curious.. good luck with your recovery. 19. talk or email dr. Rose,( he is quite good at responding emails ) he will give you an honest and knowledgeable opinion.. my consultation with him was so enlightning, i heard on this forum that he is very friendly and down-to-earth but later realized he is much more than that.. very knowledgeable and hard-working IMO. 20. Tedd, i think i know what you mean.. 'cause i realize its actually stressful then ever (losing more hair than ever ) at my work place too.. i am oscillating from "am i next?" to "shld i quit?" ... its to the point where i cant take it anymore.. we'll see..
quote:
Should I be concerned if I recieve a micro procedure(natural appearance) until I can get an fu done? solid, by 'fu' if you are referring to Follicular extration and by micro procedure, if you are referring to Follicular unit strip method, then i dont think you should be concerned.. like arfy or someone said somewhere, to me Follicular extration doenst look like its going to be really mature anytime soon.. i seriously doubt its completely scar free.. it might have that moth-eaten, as they say, look for quite long.. 21. wilmar, I think i read some poster saying that he was advised against smoking, sex, alcohol for atleast 3 days.. and he succeeded in staying away from them for exactly 72 hrs ! good luck Signature:Please click here to vote for the doctor you would go to if you needed a hair transplantation today!
22. guys, pl. give the guy a break.. we need someone like that.. he is bringing valuable information for God's sake.. its not like its on CNN headlines. Ken, dont you be disapointed.. there are people who are listening to you.. and understand your pain..(not to say that the earlier posters dont understand, they do too.) 23. Dart, thanks for being honest ... hope everything gets better... these forums dont make sense if we are not honest to each other. IMO, swelling, pain, scar, are all dependent on lots of things - surgeon, number of grafts (trauma), proper care(icepack), rest, etc. Signature:Please click here to vote for the doctor you would go to if you needed a hair transplantation today!
24. badboy, dont be worried, we all know its different for each person and if your doctor is good there is no way a HT can fail. have you heard such a thing?? so dont worry. best thing to do is to take a photograph each month with same lighting conditions, same background, same amt of hair( after haircut ) and see for yourself. its hard to notice unless you do this.. good luck! 25. Hi everyone! ..its so good to be back.. Tedd, I am glad you were elated by how good scar has come out.. i can almost feel your joy, reading your words! enjoy your new hair.. I agree with you completely, it sure is a huge hole in my pocket, and hence its a big decision given the way economy is doing.. last week, our company laid off a few more good people.. you can imagine how nerve-racking it is - but i still want an HT done, 'cause i am afraid, if i dont do it now, i may never be able to do it..
