Thanks for the update, Solid. I have a smoking quit date of 9-9-03 (today)anyway. I want to thank all of you who responded to my query. I was just having a nicotine fit more than anything since I had already been cutting back on my 1/2 pack habit and was more concerned with smoking so soon after the HT and if it would cause my grafts to loosen or something. Will keep you guys posted on the progress of this 2nd procedure and include photos when I get them. Thanks again to all.

Thanks PD, its day 5 and all is well. I only smoked 4 or 5 cigs in the first 3 or 4 days and no alcohol (don't drink) or sex. My hope is that it didnt affect anything. Now if I can only get rid of the face swelling. Its down to my cheeks and throat (forehead area went down). Any suggestions ? I am due back to work on 9-11. Thanks. Will

Thanks, Lorenzo. I had actually quit for 8 mo. when I had my 1st HT on 12-02, so this was not even something that was discussed with the MD. But, unfortunately I recently started smoking again and I didnt really ask about consequences, if any, should I smoke one or 2 cigs after. My second one was on 9-4-03. This time I had 2,585 grafts compared to 1,065 on the first. Any additional comments by anyone is appreciated. By the way I have swelled up like Deniro in Raging Bull. Is prednezone an OTC drug?

Can someone tell me if its ok to smoke just one or two cigarettes after surgery. Mine was 24 hrs ago and I am having a nicotine fit. Will it really affect my implants or is it just no cigs at all for 4 dys after procedure?
