  1. All, Thanks for your responses. Well, Dilemma is... For going with 2nd HT, Dr. Madhu suggested not to and Ravindra suggested to go with it. So, go with HT and be done with it. For using medications, I would probably need to use them as long as I want the dense hair, probably for next 15 years or so. Not able to decide which way I should go. :-(. Or give a try with meds for 2 more years and decide after 2 yrs during my next visit.
  2. Hello, I went through HT back in June 2009 with Dr. Puli Ravindra Reddy of Pacific Medical center. I used the prescribed medication for about 7 months and stopped for obvious reasons. Now looking back, I am back to where I started. This is my original thread. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/139143-hair-transplant-june-25-2009-hyd-india-4.html This is my blog Hair Restoration Site for KayKay Please refer to attachments for latest pictures. Well, to make story short, I am in India now and yesterday I visited Dr. Madhu first. He said that Dr. Puli Ravindra reddy used whatever technology was available first and did a good job to use the available grafts to spread evenly across the entire top and hence my spacing was little far apart. and he said that the way he should be doing is concentrate on one area in first sitting first and then on the rest of the area for second sitting. He said, most of my original hair have fallen off and all I am now left with is the transplanted hair. He recommended not to go with second session as the doctor took the high dense healthy hair from donor area during the first session. And Dr. Madhu suggested me to use the medication (Finpicia and Minoxidil) for rest of the time. One interesting thing he mentioned is that the survival rate during the first session is act 95% and with second session, it goes to 60-70%. Then, I visited Dr. Puli Ravindra Reddy. He looked at my scalp, donor area and recommended me to go with another session and he can squeeze me in. He said he can extract another 3k grafts easily and place the new ones in between the existing HT area to make it look dense and he can cover my crown area as well. Another interesting thing he mentioned is that medicine is to help stimulate the original hair and to avoid its fall and it has no effect on transplanted hair. So, I don't need to use medication after this HT. Is this true? I will be here for another Month and contemplating on wether I should go for second round or not. So, fellow members. What are your thoughts on this. Your opinions does certainly help me make an informed and right decision. TIA, KayKay
  3. Jam, Your pattern and natural hair is still good and spread across. If you are loosing from 18 months rapidly, maybe another 1 yr might put your loss at saturation.. Just a thought.
  4. WOW. What can i say..the results are truely amazing...Good progress. Do you think the progress will change from 6 months to 12 months as most of the hair that is supposed to be there is already there? I an expecting that it will stay flat after 6 months? Is it not?
  5. Thanks. At the time, when I called Madhus, they quoted me 25 rs/graft. Dr. Ravindra Reddy did not give me a count though. He went by the operation instead of grafts. When I asked, he mentioned that they are around 4000. Not sure if he is talking abt Hairs or grafts. Any idea looking at my hair? But, overall I am 80% happy with my results. I am still on Finepicia and Minoxidil 5% 2ml daily. I was told by Dr. to slowly reduce the finepicia towards completion of 1 year and discontinue. He recommended me to change to rogain foam alternate nights after six months, which I am going to switch in 2 weeks after completing 6 months. 1) Do you guys agree with this medicine use suggestion based on your experiences? 2) Also, Can I apply henna to my hair to cover my grey hair. 3) Can I apply coconut oil once in a while?
  6. Ashok, One thing I would like to suggest is that while you have a chance, you may want to increase the hair density. Think abt 10 yrs down the road...Some of the existing hair might fall off. Going with more hair might cover you for long term..Just a thought.
  7. Hello, Please review my blog for my pics through 6 months. I got my HT done by Dr Ravindra Reddy. Price paid was flat 75000 rs and that includes everything... I did not do much of a research. Went for consultation. Met with the doc and fixed the appt right away as I am based on US and had only 2 weeks of time.. Hope this helps.
  8. Hello, Sorry for the delayed response. I have posted a few pics in my blog from different months. I am at almost 6 months now POST HT. Please take a look at my pictures, progression and provide your valuable comments.
  9. Thanks Jeevan. Am I using the right medication in correct quantities as per normal guidelines. This is what is suggested by my doc. Want to be sure..
  10. Hello, I had my HT done 7 weeks ago. Almost all the transplanted hair has fallen off. Waiting for the new hairs to start growing. Usually how long does it take for the fallen hair to grow back since the transplantation or after falling? I am currently on Finpecia 1 MG - 1 daily Multi Vitamin and mineral tablet - 1 daily Tugain solution (Minoxidil 5%) - applying 2ml daily on the scalp where the HT was done, at nights. Using Organic shampoo from Trader Joes to wash my hair twice daily. Am I doing all as I am supposed to be? TIA.
  11. Kumar, please look at my blog. Also, I am at 6 weeks and all my transplanted hair has fallen off. I am on original hair now and it takes 2-3 months for the transplanted hair to grow. So, my current state is not true representation of my future. :-) He did not charge me per graft. he charged me as a fixed amount. He told me he put 4000 grafts. But, please look at photo and be your own judge. I was charged 100,000 rupees including HT and medicines. Overall looked good so far. I would definitely recommend. I am not sure abt Madhu as I havent come across any who did HT with him.
  12. Yes, I have seen 2 people who had HT with him before I made my decision. But, he is not famous here on this forum. Madhu seems to have a good name here.
  13. Thanks hair care. I will definitely take your suggestion and consult US doc next time or atleast a yr from now to see what his opinion is. The doc I went to has a pretty good reputation in Hyderabad, India. His calandar is fully booked until october, 2 a day. He is US educated practiced in US for 13 years before returning to India.
