  1. Surfarosa, thx for ur reply, I stopped propecia from my initial days as I experienced side effects, so its not some thing I did recently. for the rest of the folks, did anybody hear about this phenomenon? or any idea what I should do?
  2. hello folks, its been a while since I posted on the forum, my latest photos are also long due, I will update them. this is my 10th month past HT and I find the progress is pretty satisfactory if not out right amazing, important thing is I am happy . now the trouble is past 3 weeks I am experiencing heavy hair loss, I discontinued using propecia but continued with minoxdl. when I called up the HT doc, his staff said that this is a common phenomenon in 8-9th month and she explained that since a mass of new transplanted hair grow more or less at the same time after HT all of them will go into a mass shedding/rest phase and that is the reason for this hairfall. I wanted to check if any body has gone through it and is there any thing we can do about this.
  3. I updated with the 2nd and 3rd month pics.
  4. I updated with the 1st month pics, any comments on my progress?
  5. Today is 18th day past my HT on dec 7 2009. I am healing pretty well. I want to avoid fin, open to get on to min. I want the community to help me evaluate the risk with this approach, escpecially about the hair growth in the recepient area.
  6. Subbu, I've sent a PM to you pls check it. ashok.
  7. drmtx, Post op Dr.Madhu himself suggested me to apply coconut oil every day before going to bed, also point I would like to emphasize is that I applied more than in the traditional sense and it had the soothing effect. ashok.
  8. Dr.Madhu seems to have a process where he groups the grafts into 20 each into a small holder before the actual placement. so if the patient is accompanied by a person he can possibly sit and count the actual no.of grafts. I kind of belived in Dr.Madhu and his staff so I didnt insist on the count.
  9. subbu, check my patient website. confused123, Please send a PM or something with all your doubts/concerns I will be glad to answer them. I am out of town so we cannot meet. Bill, Thanks for fixing the signature, that's the signature I was trying for. also regarding the itching, I applied two palm fulls of pure coconut oil to the grafted area, I made sure every graft/scab are kind of soaked in the oil and this definately soothed my scalp.
  10. http://www.hairtransplantnetwo...pyID=4659&WebID=1498 my patient website, I will update the monthly progress here.
  11. thanks Bill, I will create a patent website. it is past midnight 3 am here, I woke up as this damned itchiness crept into a dream and I started to scrach my head(grafted area) for a split second. so Bill, I have to wait for 10 days to apply the stuff you are suggesting right, Is there anything I can do right now? it has become very tough to tolerate the itch. Never thought itch could be this irritating.. I will also check with the doc in the morning.
  12. the itchy ness is getting irresistable, any idea how to deal with this?
  13. I zeroed in on Dr.Madhu and had my procedure done on monday dec 7th 2009. I will breifly pen down the my exp here. I got into the clinic 15 mins late, Dr.Madhu and his staff were waiting for me, they checked a few of my parameters, gave some meds, shot a injection, took some photographs, Dr.Madhu and I agreed on the areas to be covered, he wanted me to be doubly sure here. Then I was led into the operation theater.I was made to lay down on my front exposing my head for strip harvesting, they have put some bandages on my head then gave the injection for anestesia, here it pained slightly and later I could not sense any thing, this process took mostly half an hour. Then I was led into another room for the transplantation, Dr.Madhu made the incisions for some time then Dr.Sree Devi(wife of Dr.Madhu) took over and started the placement(Dr.Madhu said in an earlier meeting said she is very skilled at this), she worked with two other ladies, towards the end of the process I observed that only two surgeons were working sans Dr. SreeDevi, Dr.Madhu was doing rounds into the room all the while. All the while I was at home talking to the staff, they apprised me of the status regulary, they assured my comfort, the whole process took about 6 hours, only thing I didnt like is that during graft placement the staff some times were chit chatting about trivial stuff(the usual ladies banter), also in the middle Dr.Madhu made me sit up and gave a mirror and wanted me to check the placement, when the thing is done I was led into my room. Post op I didnt feel really tired, it was ok, actually I walked in my room as I was made to lay down for almost 5 hours. Dr.Madhu came and gave me the post op instructions, gave me a protective cover along with the tight hair band which was put during the HT left the clinic took an auto way home. Contrary to the consultation process which I though is slightly messy the surgery is pretty organized and methodical, the support staff are also very friendly. today is 3rd day post op, I am healing well, I feel tightness in my donar area and a ithcing sensation in the receipient area and no pain. I will update you with my album also.
  14. I meet Dr.Madhu for the second time and this time he spent considerable amount of time and I am impressed,I am convinced that 2500 grafts will do, thanks to this community, escpecially to Bill, Dr. Paul Shapiro for their valuable inputs. I am also done with my surgery, I will spawn a new thread to share my experience.
