  1. how much does propecia cost online? Can anyone recommend a website for me to order it at a good price?
  2. I have also started thinning at a early age (now 26) and used creatine consistently also in my early 20s. I think creatine does have a role, but just especially so for those that already have MPB. youngguy24, why are you concerned about shaving your head after the sugery? I currently have my head shaved bald right now, but I probably won't keep it shaved after the surgery. Are you concerned about the 3-6 months period after the surgery for the transplanted hair to blend in with the rest of your thinning hair?
  3. Just tried searching for this, but no luck. When are the stiches removed after the surgery? And when does the scar typically start disappearing?

  5. good point, but being the basket geek that I am, he does wear his hair much shorter this year than last year. Maybe it's just me seeing things. But if he just did some fill-in work on the frontal area from last June to July time frame, right when they started on the vacation to this April when the 05-06 playoff started, there should be more than enough time for this donated hair to grow long enough to blend in with his current shorter hair do. Even though Spurs are the defending champ, they don't get too much coverage during regular season. Anyways, enough of my non-sense. If he did it, good for him, I'm sure he can afford the best surgery on his scalp. Guess we will never know, right? http://www.nbamatchup.com/comments.html take a look at the last pic of him on that page, he buzzed his hair real short at the begining of 05-06 season. If you figure the time it takes for implanted hair to grow, it's about the right time frame...
  6. if you look at his frontal area today, without comparing with last year of course you can't really see any evidence of HT done. A good surgeon can make the results look very natural. The Rock can wear makeup when he's in a movie, either that he just don't really care. If you search on this forum, there was a thread that showed all the celebrities that have had it done. Check this site out, there is a lot of celebrities that have thinning hair, but they really don't need HT done, because every time they are on screen they can use hair pieces and make up to cover up. http://www.moviestar.nu/articles/baldmoviestarsenglish.html
  7. why does it scare you to do it more, the fact that celebrities are doing it? Please elaborate...
  8. Yes, his crown spot is getting bigger, but I think that will be taken care of sooner or later. If you look at his frontal area last year, it was much thinner than this year. With how much they sweat while playing, their hair usually get pretty wet most of the time. I noticed that his hair was much thinner last year, towards the crunch time of the game, when all cameras focused on him during the last few seconds of the crucial games.
  9. Hey any basketball fans here? Ever since I joined this forum, I've started to pay more attention to other people's hairline. Maybe it's just me, but I think Ginobli from the Spurs had a HT done recently. If you compare his hair last year, the current frontal part is much more dense than it was last year. He's still got a bald spot in the crown area, but I think he'll get that taken care of sooner or later.

  11. I'm kinda in the same boat as you guys, also currently 26 in age. From reading what you guys mentioned in the earlier posts, some people may see more shedding in the frontal/temples area, but see improvement in the crown area when going on Propecia? I am kinda taking the same plan as you Jonn, thinking about contemplating on starting propecia, but will most likely be getting my HT next year around this time.
  12. I have just started using Nizoral 1% sometime next week. I usually keep my head shaved and do so about 2-3 times a week. Ever since I started using Nizoral, I feel like my hair is growing back a little bit faster than before, which means that I would have to shave my head more often.
  13. Can someone recommend a good place for me to get propecia without a prescription?
  14. does anyone know of any other scalp conditioner or moisturizer that keeps the hair follicle healthy?
  15. Hey... I'm loosing hair in the frontal area, and I have been keeping my head shaved for the past year or so. I am considering getting Nizoral to keep my scalp "healthy". Is there anything else that I should also use? I shave it about 2 times a week, but always use after shave afterwards. Will Nizoral help my scalp even though I already keep my head shaved?
  16. spiderman, others have given you great advice. I started dealing with issue quite early too in my early 20s, I'm now 26 and have shaved my head completly. The good thing about dealing with this is that, we can still pull off the "shaved head" look until you are ready for your surgery. I plan on getting my surgery within the next year. Just remember one thing, if you really are not comfortable with loosing hair, you can always use surgery as last option. For the time being look into propecia and other treaments. You are still young, try and have fun and get laid..hehe..
  17. slowly thinning, where can you get that one-year supply of proscar for $85?
  18. that doesn't look too bad at all, now that it's dry. But it does seem like that you are holding the camera steady and the pic turned out a lil blurry. You balding rate looks about the same as mine, but I'm 26 and getting closer to my 30s. I am pretty sure I will get a HT eventually, but I want to do the wise thing by waiting a few more years to see where my progression is going. I do know what you are going through, but I agree with what others are telling you, waiting a few more years should be the wise thing for you to do at this point.
  19. Hi all, I'm planning on getting a light HT sometime this year and looking for a good time to schedule a consultation with one Dr Keene in Pheonix. I'm 26 and thinning in the frontal area. I keep my head shaved so how long should I grow my hair out when I go see Dr. Keene? I generally keep my head shaved, so I'd prefer to keep it as short as possible for the consultation, so will a 1/8-1/4 of an inch be long enough?

  21. Hey PP, how much did a 900 graft session cost you with Dr. Cooley? Can you post some pics if you get the chance?
  22. Now that comment about $3 per graft sounds very tempting. Is this price from reputable doctors? I'm trying to plan ahead for a procedure. I think about 1000-2000 should be the amount that I will need, focused only in the front area.
  23. Do a bit more researching mike thomas. I had my first consultation with bosely as well, since they are one of the first clinic to pop up when you google "hair transplant". After a bit more search you will find that there is couple of on-going lawsuits against bosely's practice ethnics. $9.5 is awfully high, you will find that most of the best surgeons that are talked about here on this forum only charge an average of $4-5 per graft. Best of luck.
