  1. I'd suggest you get a prescription for the propecia, and maybe consider getting off those weight lifting supplements as well.
  2. Yes, you can physically sleep with it on, but any of the excess left on your hair will be rubbed off on your pillow. I have the habbit of washing and bathing everyday, so have never left it on my hair for more than one day, but I'd imagine that it would be on there just fine, just as long you didn't get a substantial amount of water on your head. Dermmatch is somewhat waterproof, meaning that water alone won't get it off, you'd have to use either some rubbing or shampoo combined with water to get it off.
  3. yea, that's a really popular look right now, especially those that like the hip-hop style. I think TI and Jaimie Fox wears that look really well, but if you look at his hair line, it's rather high as well for his age.
  4. Billero, I'm sure you've seen my posts before, and I've always tried to be helpful and respectful to others, as you stated that we're all in the same boat. I apologize, for what I posted in the previous post of this thread. I do not, however take back my thoughts on the logic of implanting fake hair. The previous poster did not want any surgery to cut open his scalp, and using his own hair, but rather cut open the scalp to put in something "fake"? Other than surgically implanting the "fake" hair into the scalp, I don't see any other way of making it stick, which is why I sarcastically mentioned using super glue.
  5. the rate of growth will vary from one to another. I've just passed my 3 months post op mark, and I can say that about 50-70% of the hair have been growing for quite a while, but just not thick enough yet. When I take a magnifying glass and look carefully, I can see plenty of hair that are less than 1/4 inch long and have just popped out of the scalp. I'd say that each hair has a set timing for itself, and they will all act differently on a given person. For example, some will sprout very very thin, will continue to grow at the rate very similar to the native hair, but will continue to thicken up during its growth. While some hair will pop out nearly as thick as the native hair, but grows a bit slower than the rest, so you see, each follicle has a mind of its own, and given that each person hair grow at different rate, it's nearly impossible to give you a progress in percentages. Most doctors will tell you at 4 months, you'll just start to get a glimpse of what kind of density to expect, and won't fully mature til about one year after op.
  6. Just get some fake hair off a wig and then superglue it to wherever you need it. What kind of question was that?
  7. can't speak for anything else, but I know that you won't be able to do that with Dermmatch. With Dermmatch, you should be using that in areas where hair is about 1/2 inch long or longer, which is about a #4 on the top.
  8. maybe it's just a hair piece. a lot of the older hollywood actors use them. I can think of a few right off the top of my head, John Travolta, Billy Bob Thorton, Samuel Jackson...etc.
  9. I'm currently using Dermmatch right now, although I have not tried any other form of concealers, but I'm very happy with the results from Dermmatch. I'm using to cover up the scar, where there seems to be some temp. shockloss, and it works great. You just gotta make sure that you blow/air dry it, and after that take a towel to wipe off any of the excess. I've played basketball with it and it doesn't come off with the sweat, only when you wash it off. I've been hat-less since 2 months post op(in 3 months post op now), and not a single person have detected Dermmatch. I've got a pretty good hang of applying it, and can do it in the donor area, and a bit on the top 1/3 of my hair within 10 minutes. The key to applying it is in areas anywhere about 1/2 inch behind the hair line, where there is some hair left. You can't apply it to areas completly bald. The trick to applying it to slightly thinning areas, is you don't want to get it on your scalp, just on the hair, to add more texture or density to the hair in those areas. I'm on the first disk right now, and I can see it lasting me a whole entire year, because I only use it in few areas. Also, you want to get a hang of exactly how much you'd need, after using about 2-3 times, you'll get a good estimate on it. When you order one from the website, they will give you a second one for free...very good deal. Don't think you can get it directly in India, as you can't get it anywhere in the US either, only by internet order.
  10. Benihana... I agree that 2500 is a bit high for just hairline work. Especially in your case, where your hair has a natural curls, it helps create the illusion of density much better than my straight hair. I personally think 1500 will be enough, to blend in with the existing hairline that you have. Maybe you'd want to try to take a picture in brighter lighting to help us see your true density, the darker lighting help disguise your NW level. I think your hair is fine now, but this is coming from someone your age with a more noticeble thinning, search for my pics in the album section, you'll know what I mean. In the hands of a expert surgeon, you should see very minimal shockloss, I personally didn't notice any shockloss at all, so if there are any, it's very very minimal. I got 2000 grafts done by Dr. Keene in AZ, and my hairline is much thinner than yours, and more pronounced receding in the temple area. Dr. Keene lowerd my hair line by about an inch all around, I'm 3 months post op now, and I'm very happy with the results so far. Good luck.
  11. Looking good Gorpy, once again, you made me feel confident about choosing Dr. Keene. I'm at 3 months post op, and I can definitly see the start of the growing stage. Just wish I have a higher resolution camera to show the new fine hair.
  12. Yea, they all pretty much grow at different rates, but I've noticed that one side seem to grow a bit more evenly than others, while the other side grows closer to the native hair. I also have one 2 hair graft that never shed, and has not seem to grow longer in length either. Really weird.
  13. Like others have mentioned, nobody really cares about your hair, even if you're balding. I'm 27 and work with a bunch of guys in their early twenties, and occasionally they make fun of my bald spots(I'm 3 months post op). Prior to the surgery it'd offend me slightly, but now I just laugh it off with them because I know it'll only be a matter of time before the new hair starting to thicken up. One of the guys even suggested me to get a HT jokingly, after staring at my bald spot from about 1 foot away...so I'm pretty comfortable that it's undetectable. If you go to the Photo Album section you'll find my album, and I'm around a NW4-5, but the pics only show up to a 1.5 month post op progress...I'll be posting my 3.5 month progress soon.
  14. wow...it sure is cheap over there. Too bad, there is just not enough reviews on the work done in Thailand. I've heard that Thailand is now becoming the hot spot for cosmetic surgery. For the $7k that I spent on mine here, I could have gotten a much higher graft count and had some fun there in Thailand. If I ever consider doing some more density fill in work, I'd strongly consider getting one in Thailand, my hair line is, which is the part that requires more artistry has already been taken care of.
  15. triggerhappy... It sounds like you're pretty furious about your experiences with Dr. Khan, but there is really not much you can do at this point. Most of the members that have done their homework, are not likely to end up in the chair of a doctor not on the coalition list. If you're trying to sway new members from ending up in your shoes, most of them usually don't know about this forum until it's too late, like your case. After your 2 previous bad HTs, and the bad feeling that you got while talking to the doctor in person and you still went ahead with it... Look at it this way, now that you know about this forum, your repair work will be done by a top surgeon here?
  16. I'm Chinese, and for the longest time, I wouldn't pay to get a reflexology session, although I love getting a full body massage. I went in for a foot massage one day, and now I'm hooked. It's really relaxing, whether it really helps you or not. The whole thing behind it is that, it can help the blood circulation throughout the whole body because all the roots for blood lines to different organs, start from the bottom of your feet.
  17. yea, that's the main reason, but there's more than that. He's got a load of money, and a lot of power of course comes along with it. It's not just the power that money brings along, I just feel that he acts more powerful than he really deserves. Sure, he's a billionair and owns a lot of property, but I just feel that he constantly demands the power whenever I see him on TV. Like the reality TV shows, the footage of that WWE footage, he's constantly acting like he's the boss and he has to win. Like what an above member posted, he mentioned that baldness is a sign of weakness, I'm sure most people will see it as that, but there's many ways one can appear strong and poised without constantly being publicized as the "boss". If he has so much money that he can get beautiful women whether he's bald or not, why does he make that pathetic attempt of styling his hair that way? And every time I see that hair on TV, even though it appears really messy and goes in 10 different directions, it appears that each strand of hair is the same direction. Either he spents at least half an hour on combing that nest, or he has some professional doing it for him every time he's in the public. You're right, he's a jerkwad, I'll shut up now.
  18. what about connan o'brien's hair? I've always wondered about Connan's hair style as well. It seems that he's receding, but that bang of his does seem like his natural hair. I've noticed that he shakes his head purposely sometimes to show some motion in his bangs. Sometimes when he gets up and start acting like a clown, you can tell that his crown area is quite thin compared to other parts of the head. I think he'd be a great candidate for a HT, and would really compliment his personality. Seems like he's never had work done, and plenty of donor left, and a lowered hair line would go with his youthful TV personality really well. I usually synpathize with those that have thinning hair, because I know exactly how they feel, but for some reason I just don't feel the same way with Donald Trump.
  19. I just want something that will compliment a weight training program, don't see why else would I want more testesterone, if not used for training. Anything else that you'd recommend that's more mild and doesn't not require a prescription?
  20. I'm interested in the testesterone supplements also. Let me have a few options. I just want something for a 6 weeks cycle to go with a 6 weeks weight training session that I'm looking to start soon. Thanks. Jrbrass: There's gel that has testesterone in it that you can rub on your shoulder? Didn't know that, so your skin will absorb it through your shoulder? Why rub it on the shoulder, why not on your arms?
  21. I'm at 3 months post op, it's gotten a bit better than before, but it's still pink. By the way it looks, I think it should be good around the 6 months mark for me to buzz everything shorter.
  22. I'm in a similar position as well, started loosing it during my early 20s and am now 27. My hair loss started in my early and when it first started, it didn't take long for the thinning to become visible. I think the first year was the worst, finding hair on the pillow, a bunch of hair coming out when I comb my hair. Since then, the hair loss has slowed down a lot, and am now a NW3-4. I'm not passing any judgements on you, just putting things together according to your user name. I was really really heavy into drugs in my late teens and early 20s and have been out of that scene since I was about 23-24, and I've noticed that my hair loss has slowed and stabled down ever since. I'd agree with others that 1400 would not do anything for you, even 2000+ won't be enough to satisfy you, considering how much of an area that 2000+ grafts will have to fill. I've had a 2000 graft in just the temples and lowered hair line, and even though I'm only 3 months post op, I can STILL see how another HT would help more. I did keep my head shaved for about a year straight, although I've gotten a few compliments on the fact that I actually look pretty good with a shaved head, I was never really quite comfortable with it myself. You're very lucky in a way that, you're still very young and can pull off that shaved head look. Your hair is still very thick on the sides, so I think you can be safe with a mega-session, but you should definitly talk to a coalition doc, and it won't be cheap, but it's worth it.
  23. no idea what you''re talking about.
  24. I just bought a case of the black dermmatch to be used in the donor area to help cover the scar. Very happy with the product. I keep my hair about 1 inch all around so the scar can be visible under bright lighting and the dermmatch keeps it nearly completly undetectable. I'm at 10 weeks post op so the scar still has that red smiley face going across the back of my head.
  25. thank you for keeping up with the progress, I've been following your progress the most because I chose the same doctor and we have the same # of grafts transplanted and similar hair loss pattern. Looking great those baby hair are starting to get thicker and hair line is starting to look a bit lower as well. I'm at 10 weeks post op, but my new growth is a lot of spiradic than yours.
