  1. I started a thread a while back regarding basketball player Manu Ginobli of the Spurs and how I thought he had a recent hair transplant in the frontal area. Been watching the pre season games the past couple of days and noticed how Cuttino Mobley of the Clippers have a much denser hair supply in the frontal area this year. Towards the Playoffs last year, his frontal area was thinning pretty bad, and being the team's best free throw shooter, the camera focuses on him a lot at the foul shot line. This year, during the pre season, his hair was or appeared to be completly full with absolutly no sign of balding at all. I know that hair of different races can cover bald spots in different ways, but his current coverage was just so different from last year's playoff, anybody else noticed it?
  2. is it once a day or once every other day? It seems that I've been getting mixed suggestions from people of this forum.
  3. Pete27, My progression of loss sounds very similar to yours, started at about 20 at a very fast rate, but noticed that it stopped or slowed down the last couple of years (i'm going to be 27 in 2 months) I have been on propecia for about 2 months now, but only taking 1/4 of a pill every other day. I did keep my head shaved for about a year straight, although I do get compliments occasionally from people saying that I don't look bad shaved, and that my head shape looks good being exposed, I do get lazy shaving it all the time. For advice, if you do want to shave, use an electric clipper to buzz it close to skin, but don't shave it skin bald with a razor, I find the close shave not helpful to our fragile scalp. Lately, I have been letting it grow it bit more, and only buzz it once a month. I have been thinking about going on the Rogaine regiment as well, but still contemplating because I'd have to use it twice a day everyday. Nikki: Is taking 1/4 propecia every other day enough? If I do go on Rogaine, I've heard the suggestion of using it twice a day for about the first 2-3 years, and eventually drop it down to once a day for the remainder of time. What's your suggestions? BTW Pete27: I do not notice any negative sexual side effects w/ propecia, and I honestly doubt that anyone our age should have decrease in sex drive with Propecia...
  4. forgive me for being ignorant, but why would anyone want a body hair transplant? Which part of the body is the transplanted hair suppose to go? I can understand adding more hair to areas to help define facial features, such as eye brows or mustache or beard, but why would anyone want hair transplanted on their body? In these days of metro-sexuals, isn't excess body hair viewed as unattractive?
  5. Been on Propecia for about 1.5 month now and thinking about starting the use of Rogaine as well. Heard about the messy routine of Rogaine, so a bit reluctant to start. Should I wait until 3 months of Propecia usage before starting Rogaine? And once I start using Rogaine, do I have to use it 2x per day? Is one time a day better than none at all?
  6. I got mine generic proscar for about $97 at my local pharmacy. I think I'll refill my prescription with Proscar next time, since the price difference isnt' great.
  7. how about every other day? I have also seen members suggesting the same dosage at every other day.
  8. yes, a facial hair transplant is possible, but not as common. I have seen pictures of facial hair transplant for fuller beards and eye brows. I have heard that the doctor took the hair from patient's leg.
  9. Just got off the phone with my local Walgreens and was informed that there is a generic version of Proscar that costs about $10-15 less than the 30 tabs of Proscar. Anybody know anthing about it? The generics are supposedly the same ingridient and comes in 5mg tablets. I think I will go ahead and order it, since it is offered by stores like Walgreens. I think it's unlikely that Walgreens will sell anything that is not legit.

  11. how long does your hair have to be to use toppik or other concealer? Does this stuff stay in your hair when someone touches your hair?
  12. I have a tattoo that I want to get rid of. When I searched for it, tattoo and scar removal seems to be closely related to each other. Anyone know of a well regarded surgeon with good practice ethnics?
  13. yea, i think everyone that is going bald that has any kind of social life will face others joking about our hair. It's the worst when someone that shouldn't be making fun of others' appearance and doing it. I don't usually talk back, because I don't want to put myself down their level, but my friends know that the only thing that asshole has on me is more hair. I wonder how that asshole would act towards me, if I went through with a HT and have a full head of hair?
  14. i'm sure the internet pharmacy has great prices on the drugs that they offer, but the problem is that you can't be exactly sure whether you are getting the real thing or not. Not to high jack this thread, but what's the typical prices that people are getting proscar for at the popular pharmacies?
  15. I don't mind the shaved head look as I had it during high school. If I have the option, of course I would like to be able to have a full head of hair, so I don't have to shave my head all the time. I will at least schedule a consulation with one of the top doctors recommended on the site and get their opinion. I am also going to start propecia within the next month. So I guess you can say that I'm ok with being bald temporarily. Since I'm 26, I keep myself in good shape and a bald head makes me look like an athelete of some sort, but I'd like to be able to have different hair style when I'm in my thirties.
  16. i currently have my head shaved with a razor about twice a week. I'm thinking about going to proscar/propecia soon, to see if the drug can help me hold on what I got, or hopefully maybe some regrowth. Part of my initial reasoning for shaving my head was to hide the fact that my hair line is receding, but after doing so for more than a year straight now, I feel pretty comfortable having no hair, at least more comfortable than I thought I would be. I find myself more and more comfortable about telling others that I shaved my head because I'm loosing my hair. A lot of people tell me that I don't look bad bald and I honestly believe that most people really don't care too much anyways. Bottom line, regardless of how fashionable it is to shave your head, a person will look better with hair. I will still get a HT sooner or later, but for the time being I'm happy with the fact that I can put it off by shaving my head and don't feel and look 100% awkward.
  17. Is there any study that shows the long term effects of a Lasik surgery? From what I know, there is not much study that shows the long term effects of the surgery and most people can only have the surgery performed once.
  18. how much does that web site charge for the precription? I've been calling around at general dermatologists, and most of them charges about $150 for a session without insurance.
  19. I know how everyone feels about Bosley and I'd never get a HT with them. I currently do not have a medical insurance plan right now and noticed that they do offer Propecia from there web site. Is it safe ordering propecia through their web site? What to do you guys think? Here's the link... http://www.bosleypropeciarx.com/prices.htm
  20. Is it cheaper splitting proscar into 4ths/5ths or splitting propecia into halfs?
  21. basically you would want to stay away from anything that can raise the levels or testerone that your body produces. And that's pretty much everything that GNC promotes, other than their vitamins. hahaha
  22. Hi, I'm looking for a doctor to get a prescription for propecia. Dermatologists are the ones that prescribes it right? After I get the prescription, where can I get proscar to save money? Does local drug stores sell proscar?
  23. man, what is up with his hair? I'm sure he has the money to afford the best surgeon in the world, his comb over effort is pretty ridiculous.
